      All I have on mine is the muffler deletes, and it sounds great as you can hear! As far as I know, everything else is stock and in place. You can get the deletes for about $150 on Amazon here:
      92-96 LT1 amzn.to/2GhEhOB
      84-90 LT1 amzn.to/2DAryoe
      I am not sure they will fit other engines, but most likely. Hope this helps!

      I'd rather stay on stock mufflers , if iwant to add great sound i'll go for long headers Xpipe , the sound will be amazing as well unleashing more HP. I have 2 C4 one of them GRANDSPORT

      In case nobody has mentioned it before and you didn't notice it, your rear rims are on the wrong sides. They are directional brake cooling fans. Looking at them the fin on the top of the rim should curve up and towards the rear of the car ( all four ). If your tires are directional as well, they would have to be remounted. I have those rims on my '92 and directional tires, too. BTW, I grew up in Beloit, so I loved hearing a little about your home area. Happy motoring!

    I have a 91 C4 your pass door has a hatch pop too, SCV = Speed control Volume. your suspension was designed by Lotus. If you change the ride height you MUST have a 4 wheel alignment by someone who specialises on Corvettes. Grease your hood lock latches monthly or your handle WILL break. research your RPO codes you will learn a lot of good stuff, hope you have ZO7 or Z51 3.45 rear etc. Also there are many tricks the ac buttons can tell you lots of hidden features to the display unit. true coolant temps, engine parameters, etc.

    As a first time C4 owner ,I found this very helpful. The cool gent I bought it from gave me a crash course in C4ology that helped also. The fun factor goes up when you get in. I say that cause the worst thing is getting in/out of the belly of this beast! I'm learning a lot from these videos,so maybe I don't mess my car up.Lucky enough to have found an LT4 in great shape. Just bought a 1988 c4 at auction for 3900 cad. What a great car ,,i would recomend anyone who wants a sports car for a reasonable price get one. Was underneath the car for inspection,,what great engineering i think they are underrated and surely will go up in price with time. You get a fast car,,all kids of options like cruise,,power everything and it rides quite well.

    • @13Scorpio
      @13Scorpio  7 років тому

      Awesome find! Indeed, it is definitely an overlooked sports car nowadays! Power is good, alot of "bells & whistles", and can't beat the prices they are going for now. Haters can hate, but, the C4 is alot of bang for the buck!

    My comment dissapeard, but welcome to the Corvette family. Really nice car. I don't think the seats are supposed to come up that easy on any year Corvette. If you think you love it now, it gets even better over time.

    • @13Scorpio
      @13Scorpio  7 років тому

      Thank you, and I kinda figured something was not right with the seats coming up like that. Looks like another item to put on the list.

    • @91C4NVA
      @91C4NVA 7 років тому +2

      13Scorpio Year should be no biggie on the seats, someone probably did that on purpose. By the way the only advice I can mention off hand is be very careful if you clean the engine/bay. Yeah most car's you have to be careful, but as I'm sure you know the under hood computer box and firewall gizmos seem extra sensitive to any water. I cleaned my 91 engine and had a flickering check gauges light for months.

    • @13Scorpio
      @13Scorpio  7 років тому +1

      Yea, I was warned about how susceptible to moisture the optispark and other stuff is, so, yep, just dry cleaning only! Thanks for the heads up of course

    • @miked8468
      @miked8468 7 років тому +2

      I have a 93 and my seats do the same thing. There is clip you can reach from under the front of the seat that holds the seat bottom in place. Your clip is just undone which lets you pull it up so easy. I left mine undone so I can get to all the loose change that falls out of my pocket lol.

      My first was a '78 Silver Anniversary 350/350 car. 2nd was an '01 Z06, 385/385 6 speed. 3rd is a '91 white 6 speed car, TPI, in similar shape as yours... Financially, could not afford another C5 Z06, so I bought the 91 about a month ago for a decent price. I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the C4. It's so much more advanced than a C3, similar price for a lot more technology, overdrive, a/c, etc. Although, not so sure the C3 didn't have more interior space. The biggest difference, Z06's are still about 3x the price of a reasonable C4, and I'm able to carry classic insurance on the 91 $18/mo vs $90. Tires are sooo much cheaper on the 91. Even though it's almost 100hp less than an 01 Z06, it's not so apparent behind the wheel... In short, an $8k C4 has a lot of bang for the buck vs a $20k C5, in my opinion.Biggest complaint, is the C4's didn't go to a key fob until around 93, lol.

    I have had a 69 cutlass S Convertible since about 2005, I bought a 94 vette in 2007. I can attest to the fact that people will come up and ask you about this Corvette. I'm used to people doing it when I drive the cutlass, but it's happening more and more with the Corvette. Mine became an antique this year.

    I have a '91 convertible with a six speed manual and its a great car to run through the hills with the way it hugs the road. With the top down I always have people commenting on how much they like my car. My last car, I used one of those cassetts with the wire to plug my phone in. My current 01 e320 I put a new blue tooth radio in. Good thing I did. My new galaxy S20 doesn't have a round plug receptor.
    When you put that top in the back you cannot use the cargo area anymore.
    That seat belt will not relaxe back once it grabs like on a sudden stop. You have to unbackle it and real it in and then re-engage it so it will be loose again. I saw that on another vette youtuber channel.
    I really like that yellow they used on these.

  • @jackpeltzel

    My 92 Convertible’s seat cushions do come out too,. I pulled my passengers and cut to fit some 3/4 inch plywood and stabled some carpet for a nice platform for my 2 dogs to sit on.
    I store the cushion right behind the seat if I have a human passenger.
    You should have a clip in front that keeps that cushion in place btw.

  • @geokar8080
    @geokar8080 7 років тому +2

    I have a 94 convertible. Great car once you make peace with the fact that the optispark change is a going to be part of a long maintenance schedule like a timing belt on most Japanese cars. The seats are supposed to be removable like that but when you slide the cushion back in, there should be piece of metal on the bottom of the front of the cushion. This is supposed to snap into a clip in the front of the seat frame. That's what is supposed to keep it locked in place. Some people don't snap them back correctly or even know there supposed to be snapped in. As for the roof, get a cheap electric screwdriver or small electric drill/driver with the correct size torx bit. That should help. Or just trade it for a convertible and only have 2 latches (no tools required) on the front. ;)

    • @13Scorpio
      @13Scorpio  7 років тому

      I will have to take a closer look at the seat for that clip, and that small drill-driver is a great idea, might get one that I can charge in the car and keep it there. Not a big fan of full convertibles, but, you do make a valid point!

    Just an FYI, CD players have been featured in cars since around the mid 1980s. For a 1995 automobile, a CD player would seem like a DVD player in the Blu-Ray and digital download age. Cassette players were offered starting in the mid 1970s. That's some pretty old audio tech for a mid 90s automobile.
    Despite that, I'm very impressed with your car. This is my favorite generation for the Corvette. Perfect balance of technology - old enough to be approachable to work on, but not so tech laden to intimidate the DIY mechanic.

    Earlier C4's (pre-93) had the hatch release on the passenger door too. SCV = Speed Compensated Volume. The seat bottoms should have a metal clip in the front that holds them tightly down. There's one "secret" fuse that is right near the left corning lamp -pull that to disable both under hood lights.

    Hey man! Good video. The features you portrayed may not be obvious to all the cars being the age they are, so good idea! LOL... I actually found out today about the auto volume thing on the radio! I've had the car for 2 years now! As for taking it out on "spirited driving events", remember they are 20+ years old... they will need a lot of mechanical TLC before you venture out to speed. Not just for reliability, but for safety. So bare that in mind. I've been a performance instructor for over 20 years and this car after working on the chassis an restoring everything was by far a dangerous thing to bring on the track in the state it was. It now handles, steers and stops great, but the mechanicals are still not track worthy. BTW, the hand brake is the same principle in a Porsche 944. Let me know if you want to pick my brain for maintenance or how to's. Nice machine to work on.

    • @13Scorpio
      @13Scorpio  7 років тому

      Glad you liked the video. The armrest storage and the cargo cover where the two things I was most surprised to find, and gave me the idea for the video. Thanks for the advice too, if I were to do anything it would be for some low level stuff for fun, the "cones in the parking lot" kinda stuff I have seen in town here. But, I get ya, with 22 years behind it, I am sure it's not the best thing to do at this point. Might have to wait for a C5 for that!

    8:00 you should have an identical switch on the passenger door as well, I've never driven a car with more trunk buttons than my C4 10:40 The older C4s also had no glove box even without the airbag 14:45 check the front of the bottom of the seat (like the part that comes off) and there should be a small metal bar that latches on to the metal it rests on, it's a huge pain in the ass the relatch so mine is still unlatched

    Had my '92 for a couple years and found a few things in your video that I hadn't noticed. Thanks for the tips.
    My passenger seat always came up when I bumped it taking things off the floorboard. But I hadn't done anything except let it go back down. Sure enough, it comes out like you said. Now maybe I'll work on the bladders :-) I also didn't know about the shade in the back, but sure enough, its there. Alas, no armrest compartments in the 92 version...

    I have a 96 C4 I bought a few years ago. I drove it for awhile and now it is all apart doing some custom paint on it. Seems you like yours, I like mine too. I think the C4 gets a bad rap from a lot of people. I think they are one of the better body styles! They are very fun to drive and I always had people saying it was a nice looking car too. I hope for the same hen I get done painting it. Mine is all black with 2 tops (glass and solid). The thing that scared me was how hot they run with the climate control off. Once you turn on the climate control it runs much cooler so I leave mine Climate control on year around. Thanks for the videos, I know they are from a couple years ago, but good to see still today. When you turned on the air conditioning I thought you were going to mention the extra fuel injector inside the manifold. The designers added it to compensate for the power lost to running a/c. Truth be told, they intentionally overcompensate. You may find your corvette is faster with the a/c on. Smog compliance states testing must be done with a/c off. Not sure how long they got away with it. My dad's '87 had it. I "borrowed" it and achieved 151 mph in 1987. Just got a '94, going to be sure it's there on mine later tonight lol.

    As one person sorta mentioned...your rear wheels are on backwards. Each corner of the car has a specific wheel. Someone has the left rear on the right side and the right rear on the left. Also, the rear wheels are slightly WIDER than the fronts. Look at the way the 'salad choppers' rotate and you'll understand better.

  • @JessicaTG2008

    Another really cool thing with the C4, but you have to have a Key fob. When the PKE system is set up, when you come within 10-15 feet of the car, it automatically unlocks the doors for you. Also, the seat bottoms do come out, obviously, but you have to push them back and down on the front to hook the front seat bottom catch. They are not supposed to just sit on the frames. For cheap insurance, and to save a HUGE pain, get yourself a pair of emergency hood release hoops. They attach to each release and tuck into the cowl area in case your hood cable breaks, and it will if you DON'T have these.

    • @13Scorpio
      @13Scorpio  5 років тому

      I saw Samcracc do a video on a C4 and saw that. Unfortunately, I do not have any key fobs, but, I would not doubt the system is there. Maybe if I go to a dealer they can let me know. Good advice on the emergency hood hoops. I saw something like that in the corvette catalog, probably something I should put on the list.

    • @JessicaTG2008
      @JessicaTG2008 5 років тому

      13Scorpio The hoops/wires are nice and once you install them you just forget about them, until you need them. I’ve seen some emergency release poles/hooks that probably work but your nit likely to keep it in the car. These are hidden. Oh, by the way, you can use ANY C4 corvette key fob. You can get a used one on eBay. They are very easy to set up and be programmed to your specific car using the climate control module. Many key fobs now are specific to an individual car and have to programmed by the dealer. The C4 was one of the first cars to have this so the system is easier to work with. One last thing, another issues with C4s and other GM cars was the chip in the ignition key. For about 30 bucks you can get a bypass from and good corvette parts source that plugs into the factory harness and bypasses the switch. Many vettes suffer from an intermittent no start because of this system, this little box solves that problem. Love your Vette, mine is white with saddle/black interior 1996 LT4

      Im the middle of a "retro-resto" if that's even a real thing. The C4 is the poster child of 80s computer design and automotive control and I will always be stuck in the 80s. My car is a mix of yesterday and today. I just finished putting C5 seats in, look and feel incredible. One of the best things Ive done to it for drivability. I grew up with the notion you never show what you have. A sleeper if you will, it looks like any generic Corvette with a few personal touches, but underneath its all business. Next year Im building a 383 and may, just may put a procharger supercharger on it, not sure. Its not a drag race car, Im building it to do EVERYTHING well. Right now its a handful the way it is. Keep your C4 going, they are getting very hard to find in good condition!!

    the seats on the 92 to 96 Corvette are attached to the frame with a lock down mechanism you will find in the front of the seat the seat locks down in two joints in the back and has a pull over snap that ties to seat down to the frame in the front right up underneath in an older car you would have found that lock down mechanism where you would put your hand between your legs and it just the seat manually forward or backward that's where you'll find that lockdown mechanism it's it's a small two to three inch piece that pulls over and ties the seat down to The Fray so you won't have that problem of it just coming off anymore and underneath the both seats you should find the bladder the pump to both the bladders are all the bladders that you'll find from the lumbar to the wings
