i went to SMKW store last monday looking to meet TC what an honor it would’ve been
No offense, but a) the most affordable Manix is the one with BD1N steel and b) the handle is made of FRCP not FRN.. anyway, nice presentation of this great model!
I dunno if I’m a huge fan of the manix. It’s bitten me twice since I’ve owned it, trying to loosen up the lock release so I can use it one handed.
Ehhh. Whom’I kidding? Of course I love the manix.

The Manix LW’s aren’t actually FRN. They are something they call FRCP. Doesn’t really matter, but it’s the reason this model in SPY27 is a different colour. Apparently they couldn’t get the standard colour to take. I love the colour they got though. Teal pops!

Can you match or come close to the knifecenter price on the magnacut version? It's listed right around $200 for pre-order. My mistake, it's cruwear but the price is $209.

Most affordable huh? BHQ has their mint/m4 lw for $135 and I paid $120 from them a few weeks ago when they were having a sale on it. Sounds like some competitive pricing is in order

Yeah so let's talk about the elephant in the room:
The shitty, pinned frame most new Spyderco models are coming in.
The Manix is great but the ball lock and surrounding area GET DIRTY. The thing needs regular cleaning and, guess what...you can't take it apart.
The new handles suck. Especially considering how good CPM SPY27 is, it doesn't deserve to be locked into such shitty hardware. I love my Manix 2 in SPY27 but switched back to a pm2 in boring s30v because of the stupid freaking pinned frame of the lightweight model.
My most regrettable purchase this year, just want to get rid of it.
@@Dan_B.007 I figured out how to clean mine without disassembling it. I can even get the dumb ball bearing spring cleaned. I quite like spy27 so now that I can maintain it properly I use it every day.
@@Dan_B.007 tho to your point one bevel was 17 degrees and the other was 20, which took some fixing
I just wash under warm tap water with a bristle brush and soap, shake dry and hit with a shot of WD40 to kick out the water.
You can get a pm2 in spy27 now
And now the Spy27 in cobalt G10 is 180$ 😏
But i am bout to score a StNicks Manix2 G10, i was able to actually get a StNicks LW Manix2 when it dropped. Was one of if not the first to purchase.
