  • Thanks to Mike (KA8ABR) and his friend Jim (N8ECI) we in the Midwest have a new awesome 10 GHz beacon located near Hamilton, Ohio ! I am 168 km to the NNW of it with a very obstructed path and have no trouble copying it's CW. Located on a 100+ foot tower, running 3W to a 16 slot omni, GPSDO, this beacon really screams. It is dead-nuts on 10,368.325 MHz. Now I need to get mine up & running and we will have the Midwest all set with beacons.

How can you listen to a 10 GHz signal at 144.325 MHz?!

As Mike mentioned I use a transverter. Basically it converts the 10 GHz signal down to 144 MHz where my 2m Flex radio takes over.
