Martina is one of my favorite female artist. She does have some songs that are fun rather than tear workers. I recommend When God Fearing Women Get The Blues. But another tear jerker is God's Will. And then there's I'll Love You Through It. Her pipes are definitely real. And she has the best lungs of anyone I've ever heard.
On the night of September 15, 2001, while I was on library from our beloved Corps. I feel off a 40' cliff in San Clemente CA and smacked my head on a rock, suffering a class 3 tramdic brain injury. I remember hearing the angles singing and her voice sounds like how I remember them sounding, especially with that last note.
I confess, I've never heard her sing this live. She's just as amazing live as in the video...which you should check out on your own lol. Seriously, when you watch the "official" video, try timing the last note she hits...
Just came across y'all's channel. She can sang but personally I like the old school country 😁. I got a good drinking song for ya called ",I'm Gonna Hire a Whino' by David Frizzel.
Thank you so much for reacting to this Martina song. I agree about watching/listening to the live version to check out how powerful and 'legitimate' her vocals are. However, sometimes it's also necessary to check out the 'official' video(s) in order to get the true meaning and facts about what the song is about. Regardless, I enjoyed both the performance and your reactions. Can't wait for your next reaction video!
Fun fact: When we react to the official video, we get told to watch it live. When we watch the live, we get told the reverse. :D In this case, we wanted to verify that Martina could do live what she does in the studio. Yep. Yes she can.
@@BourbonCountryReacts There is no additional context in the video for this song. The lyrics are very straightforward. If the video is necessary for context the song wasn't written correctly. really the only difference in the video is that they literally show the guy looking out the open window to make it seem like she could have jumped to her death. Even that is in the song as long as you're paying attention to the lyrics
Martina McBride is married to John McBride who was Garth Brooks Concert Production Manager. The first time I saw Garth Brooks in concert was in he early 90s, Martina McBride opened for him. At that time, her husband John worked on his production crew. She started out selling his T-shirts.
I had the pleasure of seeing Martina live about 10 years ago, and the woman is amazing! She can belt a tone like no other. If savory was a voice, it would be hers.
My husband and I saw her open for George Strait. She KILLED IT!!! She sang so hard, she lost her voice when she came back out at the end of the concert. My husband isn't a country fan at all, (I drug him to that one LOL) but even he said he would go see her again. She is amazing!
I loved your reaction! You're being guided to the best country has to offer. Here's a couple that has been forgotten, at least, I've not seen any reactions to these two songs. Mr. Mom by Lonestar, and If I Don't Make It Back, sung by Tracy Lawrence two very good songs. THANKS!!!🙂
I was lucky enough to see Martina a few years ago at a relatively small venue at the Hard Rock Cafe in Vegas and hearing her on video doesn't do her justice like being in the room does. She is very down to earth and was very sweet to do meet and greets for those of us in a particular section. One of the best 6 song sets I have ever seen
I do want to add that not only does she have a power house voice that she shines a bright light on Domestic Violence and Child Abuse , my ex was very mentally and verbally abusive and I was with him for 19 years , he was a good bit older than I am . When we got together I was 29 and he was 41. One night I was sitting in my car at 3 am talking to my best friend on the phone that lives in Colorado and listening to country music on the radio and her song Independence Day came on and listening to her song and with encouragement from my best friend I built up the courage to the next fight we had he was leaning down with his face in my face screaming at me and spitting in my face I backed up and told him to get the F**K out and ran to the bathroom and locked the door to witch he put his foot through the door.
As someone that has seen her live a couple of times she can sing her ass off. The last time I say her live I was sitting in the back of the university of Kentucky areana and still felt every note she sang just like I was right up front.
I knew she was about to blow you away. Every song of hers is outstanding. The Whitney comparison in very accurate. I swear, she makes it seem effortless. To see two other goddesses of country music, Reba and Dolly just released a video of Does He Love You and it is amazing. They have sang together at awards shows but this is their first official release together and hopefully, it won't be their last. I'm not sure if it qualifies as purely country, but back in 1998, Martina sang a duet with Bob Seger called Chances Are. It was part of the soundtrack for the movie Hope Floats.
@@BourbonCountryReacts She has so many wonderful songs. I loved Islands In The Stream, where she sings with the late Kenny Rogers. There is a pretty funny video called Romeo where she sings with Tanya Tucker, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Kathy Mattea, Pam Tillis and it features Billy Ray Cryus in one of his first performances. And fun fact, Dolly is actually Miley Cyrus's godmother.
This is my new test since I got sick with bilateral Covid pneumonia , both lungs collapsed, and have been on oxygen since August 2021. Lol. I take off the oxygen every couple months and try to sing this and can’t make it back yet. I used to be able to hold it as long as she did in the studio version. And that’s what I’m trying to get back to lol.
