Also this isn't meant to signify an AU where Grandma Tala doesn't exist or anything (because yeah, Sina isn't the one we see telling Moana stories as a child), I just like the parallel between the mother characters and the idea that this might have been a prophetic song that was passed down by the people of Motunui for years and years.
