Just bought my grill a bit over a month ago. Used it a week ago for company and worked perfectly. Lit it the other night and had that tiny little flame. Took me an hour to cook a 15 minute dinner. I was ready to pull my hair out and slam my head through the garage wall. Just tried this trick now and worked like a charm on the first try. Thank you soooo much.
As an American who thinks tipping is stupid. This is exactly when you should tip. If someone gives you fantastic information that improves your experience or saves you a bunch of money give them a tip and a thank you. It’s mutually beneficial and should be encouraged.
Almost 68 yrs old and I've never heard of this and have never had a problem with a grill, until today. I replaced the guts of my Char Broil gas grill and couldn't get a decent flame. I thought it was my tank, so I turned it in for a new one which was just as heavy. Got home, same problem. So I decided to come onto youtube and this was the first video I watched. BINGO!!!! I'm back in business!!! Thanks!!
Bought my BBQ grill in 2006, for my 2nd floor apartment and kept it on the front porch. Used it for 2 years and hated it because it was unbelievably inconvenient running up and down the steps to cook meals. It sat since then. Fast forward 17 years and I moved in to a new home. I fired up the grill with a fresh tank and used it since April without issue. Then during our 4th of July party, the grill was only heating to 300 degrees. Took forever to get it up to temp. Thought there was something wrong so I cleaned all the burners. That didn't help. Found your video and it worked (yes on my 17 year old like-new regulator)! I couldn't be happier thanks for sharing. In less than 7 minutes the grill was up to 425 degrees.
Thanks, man! Got a ton of steak right before the holiday-right when everything is closed. Thought I will be going hungry. Your little trick fixed the thing right up.
I can't thank you enough for this video. We're on day 5 with no power recovering from Hurricane Helena in SC. Our grill is literally the only way we have to cook meals right now. I was having the exact problem you described. I even got a new tank thinking the old one was faulty. After following your instructions, my grill worked perfectly. I have been turning the burners on before opening the tank. Now I know how to do it correctly. Once again, thank you from SC!
Tried this tonight after replacing regulator and hose, releasing pressure valve for ten seconds on gas bottle as suggested in other videos. Had the air compressor out to clean the lines out, and a small crowd of bbq experts gathered round too. Watched your vid tried your trick, high fives all round, beers clinking, as the flames doubled in size in front of our eyes. I won’t say how many collective years of tertiary education and hours spent bbq between us, but it was way too many. You are the man.
This worked perfectly!!! I bought this propane grill second hand. Very nice grill. I could not get much flame. I thought well it is trash. I watch this video. And now my $500 grill that people gave away probably because they thought it was broken. Thank you. I gave you thumbs up. And subscribed thank you for sharing your time
Thank you. Saved me from going to get a new propane tank. Burners were super low because I had not turned on the tank on first for the correct ignition sequence. Caused a bit of a disaster at the time as it wouldn't heat above 250f, but I know now why!
Man thank you!!! You just stopped me from wasting a bunch of time and money trouble shooting my problem. I did what you said and it fired right back up at full blast🔥🔥🔥
That was great. I was about to pitch that grill and I love my grill - almost 20 years old - I thought it was done. But, because you gave the hook up - I am hoping to get many more years out of it. I hope this works!
Worked great! Have nearly a full propane tank but low bbq flame. I thought gas line or valve was clogged or “broken”. Followed your video and problem fixed in less than a minute. I will now open tank valve first and then open BBQ gas knob second. 65 years old and i still learned something new today. 😄
Thanks! It worked for me. I was about to go buy a new tank when I thought I should check UA-cam 1st for a quick fix! I don't know how many times this has happened to me in the past....I always thought I had a defective grill!! Thanks so much!
This man saved my meal, my grill & my night. I justttttt got a new tank today and was so very frustrated. My hat's off to you sir! (If your model is like mine, you'll find this info on the tags possibly. How I felt silly!)
Worked like a charm. I literally wanted to throw my grill out. Tried this and it instantly worked. Thought it wouldn’t to be honest. I never comment on UA-cam but this deserved a comment and like!
With a Weber that's about a year old, I was genuinely surprised that the flames were so low even with a brand new gas tank.....and your method here worked like a charm. :) Thank you very much!
WOW! Just tried and worked the first time. Everybody turn it really slowly and it works. I'm always a skeptical person but if it works, I have to shout it out. Thank you.
Wow! I was ready to beat this thing with a hammer. I changed the internal parts got a new regulator and it’s still kept doing the same thing and now I figured it out. Thanks to you.
Never knew this was a thing! I’m cooking on my blackstone griddle @11:30pm for me and my girlfriend and I put on a brand new tank and thought I was losing my mind. Fixed it and now I’m back to chefin it up
I was not optimistic at all. Didn’t seem to make sense to me originally. But, I tried it and it worked exactly as described. Way to go amigo. Good find!!!!
Effective, well done and to the point, exactly fixes the issue we were having, no messing around trying to be cute or funny, just shared knowledge on how to fix a common problem. Thanks for sharing your 'fix' otherwise i was about ready to head to the store to buy a new grill.
I had this issue the last time I used my grill a few months ago..It took me FOREVER to cook just a few hamburgers and hotdogs...I've been googling and searching UA-cam to figure out what's wrong or how to troubleshoot it. I purchased new burners on amazon (haven't installed them yet). The grill is about 4 years old but barely used..I thought it was broken or clogged or whatever. I'm going to try this today. Thank you!!!!!
I'm glad I found this video. I had disassembled and meticulously cleaned the inside, grill, burner holes, burner shields and it only went up to 225 F. Going to try this next, I think this is the reason because I was getting the same size blue flame on all burners, but only 225F. Thanks!
Saved me $600 thank you. Was about to put mine up for free and Facebook market place and go buy another 6 burner. My friend told me to UA-cam "Propane slow burner". Did these steps and it lite up like it was brand new. TYTYTY.
Thanks bro, I had 3 racks of ribs and I had that problem, I watched two other videos and that didn't work..I followed your step by step and my ribs are now bbq ING lol, thanks bud! Literally fixed the problem
I'll be trying this fix tomorrow night, just put a new tank on this evening and the flames were all very low so I think this may be the fix. Thanks in advance!
I wished I watched this before rebuilding my grill- cause the same sh1t that plagued me before the rebuild happened after the rebuild- until I watched this. You are my hero right now.
Thank you so much. This was so informative. Making some steaks for friends tonight for my birthday and this fixed what could have been a horrible problem. Awesome. We've cut down our meat and follow the Eat to Live book, but when we do cook meat we need the grill to work. Thanks again. Simple clear video.
Me fadder loves ya, Me mudder loves ya, and I loves ya! My propane firepit was generating only a low flame. I had shut it off at the tank and had not shut off the burner valve. We spent a whole evening enjoying what was about 1/5th of the flame we should have had. I just went out and tried your fix and it worked perfectly. Note to self: Turn off the burner valve after using any gas device!!
Thanks for your suggestion. I will try it and hopefully it works. Wonder why you would think to open the burner valve before ever opening the tank valve? Maybe my wife did this to cause this issue but I will try your theory. Thanks again for taking the time to record, edit and post this.
This was soooooo helpful.... I had a feeling something was wrong with the flow of propane, but haven't been able to identify what that problem was exactly (my issue is that I am not seeing any active flame coming from the venturi pipes [if that is the right term] but definitely getrinf plenty of heat when turning on the BBQ? The pipes are clean, and all holes clear of any old food debris? Anyways ... I am hopeful you you have solved it for me! And ...if nothing else, I am now aware of the proper steps in turning on my BBQ safely and effectively without triggering that safety feature! Thank you sooooo much...this was a fantastic video!! 😊
You totally just saved our pizza pajama party that we have every single Friday. Thank you for everything and all of your information. This is a fantastic video!!!! It's❤❤❤
I can't believe it. After 10 years I just learned that! I was in the middle barbecuing and the guests were waiting and I did not know what to do until I opened youtube and watched this video, 🙏
Amazing! That worked! Thanks!! I was sure my BBQ was broken. (I tried to light it and then realized that I hadn't turned on the gas...and then when I opened it and lit it there was barely any flame )
Lol I've been using my smoker on low flame for about 3 years. Everything I smoke I like for the temp to be 225 but Wednesday it wouldn't even get to 200. Two days later I'm looking at this video like "wow" I would've never thought this. Changed my tank once thinking this then cleaned the burner. Also purged my line before every use lol. And to think all I was doing was turning it on fast lol. I noticed the click sound that it makes every time except this time great job
Thank you sir, you saved me from potentially having to buy a brand new BBQ :) I had to remove and wait 2 times before the regulator reset itself. Just had it on for about 10 mins at 650 degrees for the initial "burn-off".
Thank you! Fixed mine tonight 🎉
Haha I came back again 4 months later 😂

I knew there was a reason for this, give this man a medal for explaining in detail the issue
Thanks, man! Got a ton of steak right before the holiday-right when everything is closed. Thought I will be going hungry. Your little trick fixed the thing right up.

My man ! had the problem for months was about to take new grill apart. Worked like a charm thanks.
Same here! Just referb'ed a barely used grill that was working perfectly. Then all of the sudden, the temp wouldn't go above 300 degrees.
This worked perfectly!!! I bought this propane grill second hand. Very nice grill. I could not get much flame. I thought well it is trash. I watch this video. Thank you so much man! Grill was only getting up to 250! Did this and it worked perfectly
Do you have a reoccurring issue? Mine taps at 250 also.
Thank you. Saved me from going to get a new propane tank. Burners were super low because I had not turned on the tank on first for the correct ignition sequence. Caused a bit of a disaster at the time as it wouldn't heat above 250f, but I know now why!
Man, you just saved my day on my new grill! So helpful. Thank you!!!
