I love the thought of "keep a secret by telling a outrageous truth". People will dismiss it entirely, so it remains hidden in plain sight
U said such a word.....
Now that I think about it, didn't Jack Sparrow do something similar in the very first Pirates of the Caribbean movie? That scene where the two navy dudes were questioning him, and he just outright said that he was a pirate.
Capt. Jack Sparrow - Well then, I confess. It is my intention to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder, and otherwise pilfer my weaselly black guts out.
Soldier 1 - I said no lies!
Soldier 2 - I think he is telling the truth.
Soldier 1 - If he were telling the truth, he wouldn’t have told us.
Capt. Jack Sparrow - Unless, of course, he knew you wouldn’t believe the truth even if he told it to you.
The pure Odacity of that man.
Bu dum ching
Oda is funny in that way
I see what you did there.
Dero shi shi shi
Go to your room.
There is one thing I want to say that supports black beards multiple personality theory. When he meets fluffy he says the pie is good and the booze is bad, but when luffy leaves the tavern and black beard talks to him about dreams. Well, he walked in the other direction saying the booze is good. Which to me IS proof someone else habitates his body. Because unless he was lying before, his taste in beer completely change over the span of a few minutes.
You also forget that when Sanji adopted the alias of Mr. Prince he was using Mr. 3’s den den mushi and Sanji ended up being the 3rd son of germa
0:49 - Luffy says there are people in this world who don't sleep in the context of being in snowy countries, not in general. Then again, Drum Island WAS attacked by Blackbeard so... a tenuous connection at best, but still a connection.
Those bits about Sabo, though, that's kind of mind-blowing, though I still find it hard to believe it was intentional even all the way back then.
I think the best thing about the Kanjuro traitor twist is that I was taken off-guard, not because I genuinely didn't expect him to be the traitor, but because up to that point Kanjuro left such little impression on me that he legitimately wasn't on my mind in terms of who it could have been who betrayed everyone. Kanjuro is definitely a more interesting character as a bad guy than he ever was as one of the good guys.
To be honest about Kanjuro he was made too obvious to be a traitor that we just ignored it because usually it's never someone who's that obvious.
The one piece is actually in Loguetown, that's why Roger and his crew were laughing on Rsftel. The end of the line is the start. The trip up reverse mountain has multiple routes, but the main flow takes you the wrong way. If you turn right against the current it steers you to the back of the red line instead of the front and you'll find Raftel is the back side of Loguetown before the red line split the island during the void century. The treasure has been said to be on Raftel this whole time by the Gorosei to break the stand of people because it's so hard to get to. But it's been in Loguetown the whole time. The Gorosei don't claim it because they can't destroy it, or ha e the power to wield it.
At the time where Blackbeard said that we weren’t introduced to white beards devil fruit so that one technically wasn’t wasn’t something we’d pick up on
A simple one I think everyone knows at this point: the slave auction list (chapter 501) has a list of various races and different prices. One of the races are Minks, who don't show up again until Zou (chapter 795). So (I wasnt reading at the time), I guess people thought Bepo was a fruit user?
Damn That Bulldog Whitebeard 😂
I recently re-watched up to the time skip via reactions, and I noticed something. Franky said what he wants the end for his dream ship to be. And I was like "Oh no... that's going to hit like a truck."
Nami gonna turn the world upside down
4:32 im really loving this walk backwards thru the clues.
Sanji calls himself Mr. price while talking to Crocodile on the transponder snail in Skypia I believe too
What if Rocks, Whitebeard and Roger are all sworn brothers like Luffy Sabo and Ace?
Kanjiro, being a traitor, is even blatant in his design. Kanjuro's design is based on a kabuki actor. He was playing the role of Oden's retainer. Because One Piece is so inconsistent with character design that it loops back around to be consistent, nobody batted an eye at his design or thought it would be significant.
Last chapter of OP is Luffy in louge town, he’s executed, and then a completely blank manga page, then on the next page, a short poem about the Okama flower blooming a third time.
Is Sanji the only cook that has a bounty above billion?
2:09
I actually had a discussion with someone who kept arguing about Sabo being a last minute Addition to replace Ace after he died. I actually knew about the third sake sake cup in that panel but i couldn't remember the exact chapter which the guy took as proof im lying. Glad to see i didn't misremember😂😂😂
Arent devil fruits embodiments of people's dreams? Could there be a correlation between him not sleeping and thus having multiple devil fruits?
That's kinda of the metaphor I was picking up on but I even when deeper into the theory territory
"The dreams of pirates will never end!!!!" - Blackbeard
People think he never sleeps, because part of him is always awake - but they miss the fact that means that part of him is always asleep.
Oda: "Oh yeah, it's all coming together now."
9:34 hehe I knew it was time travel since Mashima and Oda had Toriyama as sensei and Toriyama pulled the timetravel arc, so did Mashima, it was clear to me Oda would do the same
It's just like people don't believe that it's true but a lot of us think that he used conquerors haki on drum Island
2:55 I do not think that could be Sabo because if Ace dying is what undid Sabo amnesia seeing Luffy almost be executed would’ve probably done the same, and if Oda had planned that far ahead we would have seen Bartolomeo in that crowd too.
It was Sabo but Dragon saved Luffy
If you stay awake forever, then you can eat multiple Devil Fruits, because they only kill you in your sleep. 😂
Luffy asking the news duck in the live action to join his pirate crew is now beginning to make sense
Okay: Usopp spoiled where One Piece is!
Roger found the last island on Grand Line. It was brown and barren. He dag the One Piece on it and as he set sail again a giant goldfish came about. A size of an island. He slew it with a single stroke now noticing that the island is sinking. A crew member of his realizes that the island was a poop of the goldfish. Everyone stares with wide eyes telling Roger how stupid he is for mistaking a goldfish poop for an island... but it is gone... to the bottom. No log pose points that way...
Huh, it’s instances like these that make me think that the Sunny 13 Theory could be possible.
Robin also discussed the sun god nika at fish Man Island
theres a Shot of Ussop on a Railing doing Nika pose. i see it a lot
Has no one seen the shadows of the other crew mates of blackbeards during that Jaya chapter? They definitely got followed in either the anime or the manga and if you see the background characters while the straw hats walk the town you see burgess and van agur and doc and laffitte
And also Usopp casually spoiling the end of arcs.
Sometime in future when a better studio decides to do One Piece anime remake (just like 2011 HxH), They will know all the easter eggs (like Sabo in Luffy's execution) and include it in the anime making it more detailed and less dragged.
my Blackbeard theory : I think that Blackbeard fruit is a hito hito model just like luffy. when un-awakened its behaves like a darkness/vortox paramecia but when awakened its will be much more it could stop devil fruits just like how when he has to hold the devil fruit user with his left hand to stop their abilities but when his fruit awaken he doesn't need to do all that. it would cancel devil fruits just by being near him or abliity to even steal the devil fruit itself from users (which is what he's doing now)
I think the reason Crocodile doesn’t use Haki is so he doesn’t counter Ivankovs devil fruit and gets turned back to a woman
Sabo was in loguetown! Amazing
"We will find out indeed, it was the fuckery"
Add more bass to your voice and that could be a david Attenborough quote.
Author Brandon Sanderson calls these points, "promises and payoff'". You show/tell people what you're going to do and over the course of the story we see those initial promises grow. Did you hear that some people don't sleep? I've met someone who never sleeps, and finishing the book with meeting someone who never sleeps. It makes readers feel smart and proves that you didn't just make up bs half way through, which r aders also like! Oda's such a great author, it's nuts.
It seems that some of the series most important plot points are just introduced very casually without the reader even noticing.
Luffy and crew are gonna get to laugh tale and laugh that’s there’s a note saying the one piece is where it all started
one of the anime openings i think marineford actually chopper has sabos complete outfit on and i always thought it was so funny
10/10 The Marine behind the four emperor is actually Panda-Man
5:53 Changes The G.O.A.T to a R.A.B.B.I.T.
Was Kuma actually the amnesia sabo had?
Thanks for putting out such well researched content. I thoroughly enjoyed this video
What do y’all think about Bonnie’s crew being the old folks from Sorbet?
I just want to know why Franky doesn’t have a wanted poster since the time skip
What I’m about to say will only take one time to say even though I won’t get any credit for it … how does broggy and dorry know shanks ? If they been on an island for 100 years ?
I have a stupid theory that black beard is just 3 kids in a disguise
okay so theory: maybe since Blackbeard is theoretically more than one person, he can switch off with the other people/blackbeards within his body to rest. So, at least one of the others is always awake and thats why he “never sleeps.” If all three were to sleep, then he would die.
I wonder if Oda is going to expand on the other gods the Shandorians worshipped.
I just had a thought. If there’s a fruit that lets you only travel FORWARD in time like Toki, then surely there must be a fruit that only lets you travel BACK in time.
So your telling me Odins English name is literally SakeCup Odin well thats wild
In that cover art featuring the four future emperors, there was a baby goat in the center. Is Oda pointing out that they're going to be the G.O.A.T.s of One Piece? Greatest Of All Time?
whats with sanji having a robot like view to look at a girl, didnt that forshadow his bodyenhancement stuff. I dont know where exactly that was unfortunate. somewhere before the time skip
Luffy was also able to understand the millennial dragon when their looking for the lost island, and everyone questions how he can understand it and he just says that he just can
Some of these are great theories. But most of them arent even something you could piece together without the information you get later. Like the 3rd cup, coulda been the edge of a plate; and the dude with the hat could still be anybody else.
By this logic all that panel with sabo standing in the middle would exclusively be a panel showing the crowd. Seems like a wasted panel for that to not be sabo.
Especially considering Shortly after Dragon appears to save luffy, dragon, sabos leader.
BB stays away from flights so as to not overexert himself and feint/fall asleep cause he could die??? Could he be sucking energy to stay awake with his first fruit and shake himself awake with the second?
God of Rain can be Dragon
I mean when I first saw kanjuro in the anime and then read about him more in the Manga there was something about him that I did find suspicious 🤔
To ur knowledge has anyone straight up asked Oda Sensei if Garp would have been able to kill Akainu at Marineford? Can u ask?
The odacity of that man
One piece fan base so insane yet can't understand that Oda is showing us our world with spiritual powers hahaha
Brook be bonin'
Okay wow. So luffy wants to keep the world greatest party and blackbesrd wants to go to a place where you can party forever and never fall asleep or else he will die..... Interesting
How the freak did he not get anything out of that? He has Amnesia and he is seeing his little brother on a execution platform ready to be killed. Phrasing and wording I guess? Since people called him Straw Hat instead of Monkey D. Luffy. 🤔 I need to do a little more digging.
Bro just watched the teacher mom that reads one piece 😂
Apparently in almost every arc there is a sun behind Luffy so she said Luffy is a sun god before she even got to skypea. She ain't even 300 chapters in and has predicted things that have only recently been revealed
Actually a youtuber had predicted the time travel.
Video 281
I love the videos and I hope your day was great. Keep up the great work.
damn I already knew all those secrets, I think I had too much doses of one piece content injected directly into my youtube feed
Just curious. In dresrossa Jesus burgess says he is going to take the gomu-gomu no mi when gyats is carrying luffy and then burgess switches to sabo almost like he could steal the fruit himself. I wonder if there is a trick that they can do without blackbeards yami no mi…. Burgess was wearing a sac on his back around his neck.
Well we already saw how that would work. On Punk Hazard when the Smiley Axolotl died after eating the "candy", it died from it (its eyes stoped glowing) and it would transform in the shinokuni gas. In this momemt in the abadonned wagon, that was near smiley, was a sack with normal fruits and one of them transformed from a normal Fruit to the Axolotl devil fruit. And later in dress rosa before the jesus scene was also a reminder how the "respawn" of a devil fruit happens after the user dies. So he just carries an bag of fruits with him, kills a devil fruit user with a good power, and one of the fruits in his sack will turn into a devil fruit.
@@darkcartman2826 you are absolutely correct I’m just wondering if that’s what the black beards are doing carrying an assortment of fruits just in case because remember supposedly all fruits can look different.
Some of these are pretty insane lol
blackbeard has 3 pistols 3 skulls blackbeard is 3 people in a jacket jacket fruit coat lol
Can anyone tell me the title of the end video
Another great video,thankyou !
wait till you find out what the will of D is
Biggest foreshadowing isn’t even mentioned in this video, some might not pick up on it but if you look closely in chapter 1 Luffy claims he will one day be “king of the pirates” it hasn’t happened yet but I’m willing to bet that oda has something planned for that little nugget
Damn, you might actually be onto something
The truth about the Gum Gum fruit was actually revealed all the way back in Skypiea. At one point Luffy gets eaten by the giant snake Nola and wants to see whats happening outside. He walks up to Nolas eye but she's sleeping, Luffy grabs her eyelid and opens it so he can see outside. Later, in SBS 34 (c.2004), this exchange happens:
D: Odacchi, greetings! I’ve been harboring some doubts lately. In Chapter 277 of Volume 30, when Luffy is trying to escape from the giant anaconda, he opens up the snake’s eyelids, but how can he do that when he’s inside the eye? Please ask Luffy how he did that!!
O: Yeah I know, that didn’t make any sense. Luffy! Come here!!
Luffy: What? What’s the problem? There’s nothing wrong about this.
O: Yes there is! How do you raise the eyelid from inside the eyeball? And while we’re on that subject, how can you be INSIDE the eyeball in the first place?!
Luffy: It’s all right, don’t worry about it. Wasn’t it funny?
O: Yeah, I guess it was! That’s the key.
Luffy: Yep yep, ahahaha.
O: Ahahahahaha…
It's cute they call him Odacchi he named a chapter Kumachi.
this is really messed up in a really cool way
Oda gave him those Bugs Bunny/Roger Rabbit/Loony Toons physics even way back then.
My theory: We understand Blackbeard does come from a race of people who don't sleep, because if they sleep in the snowy country they could be buried alive and die. His people evolved to be like dolphins and other species that regulate sleep by turning off one half of their brain independently to rest while the other stays active.
His Jolly Roger represents his three states of awake: left side, right side, and fully awake. Each state of awakeness has certain personality traits and mental processing that show in his behavior.
Thats a great idea
Thank you this is amazing
Wow, this sounds the most believable
Dude that's a brilliant analysis.
iam sure oda will once again go with option 3 :)
Lately I looked at the connection between "Binks Brew" and the "drums of liberation", and I found some interesting things. Binks Brew has no drums, even though part of the Song is about them. I tried synching both up and it kinda worked.
And I found out something interesting about the Rumbar Pirates. Their name is a reference to rumba style music, which focuses on drums and has the same rythm as the "drums of liberation".
Also "rumba" can refer to a party with music and dancing in general, which is quite fitting.
I think Rumbar .P stands for Rumbar Peacekeepers.
Which is why brook was destined to stay alive to transfer ther rhythm to future joyboy 'luffy' so he can willingly/unwillingly awaken his fruit with the liberation drum pattern he remembered listening to too much binks sake
One of the most blatant hints with Kanjuro in hindsight is on Dressrosa. when he, Usopp, and Kin’emon are running from Dressrosa’s citizens during Doffy’s bounty game, the three of them get to safety on a tall tower. Kanjuro then draws a net, claiming it will help protect them, only for the angry mob chasing them to immediately start using the net as a ladder to reach them.
Well, according to the anime Kanjuro made the net because there were people who wanted to climb up so he made it for them, but he was unaware of the crowd's intentions at the time. Or so it appears...
It should be noted that there is MORE evidence in skypea as luffy is literally thematically portrayed as a sun god in a very on the nose way, in the climax when the inhabitants pray to God that enel is stopped, luffy yells something about clearing the sky and letting it shine and bombards it with the giant gold ball, sky is cleared and the sun shines again along with the bell being ringed all the way down to nolands descendant. He literally fulfills their prayer and makes the sun shine
In chapter 77, Nami’s mom Belemere gives Nami a shirt with a lion on it. Nami says “that lion used to be a sunflower”.
The design on the shirt is the Thousand Sunny’s face.
I think Luffy’s Dream is clear as day. Him and Roger want to throw a worldwide party. The bar where Luffy and Shanks spent their time together is called Party’s Bar. Every country Luffy has liberated has ended with some kind of festivity. It’s very fitting and it’s a running theme of the show and just childish enough to be a boys dream.
Kaido and Zoro bonding over alcohol, big mom thankful to Sanji for the best wedding cake, I can totally see them all habing a big party 😂😂
yeh, Artur said that years ago, gz
I agree with you. I think Luffy's dream is to throw a worldwide party. This is a running theme throughout the show, and it fits perfectly with Luffy's character. He is a carefree and joyful person, and he loves to celebrate with his friends.
The fact that Luffy's dream is so childish is actually what makes it so special. It shows that he is still a young and innocent person, even though he has been through a lot. It also shows that he is not afraid to dream big.
I think it would be amazing to see Luffy achieve his dream at the end of the series. It would be a fitting conclusion to his journey, and it would be a celebration of everything that One Piece is about.
He wants to free the world
He wants to go swimming
The idea of a Sun God was also reinforced much later, but still before Wano, in Big Mom's flashback, where we learn the Giants also worship a Sun God
I don't know why people cling to those so hard, the idea of a Sun god is one of the most basic ones when it comes to worldbuilding and fictional religious practices.
The falling asleep and dying part is most likely because if you fall asleep out in a blizzard or snow filled region without shelter, you'd die from the elements. The not sleeping part alone though, could be something Oda used later for the reference. You know, since Oda did admit there were many parts where he created stories/context as we went on with the series. At the end of the day I just want the man to get some rest for a bit. We can wait...
You want... Oda to sleep just after saying people die when they sleep 🤔
I'm joking of course
Could still be used in that context tho, kuzan is on his crew now
I agree. It's likely that Oda was inspired by the real-world danger of falling asleep in a blizzard, and he used that as a basis for the story about the Snow Country.
It's also possible that Oda intended to use the "not sleeping" part of the story for something later on, but he never got around to it. Oda has admitted that he often creates new stories and context as he goes along, so it's not surprising that some things don't always pan out the way he originally planned.
At the end of the day, we can only speculate about what Oda's intentions were. But one thing is for sure: he's a master storyteller, and he always manages to create stories that are both entertaining and thought-provoking.
I hope Oda gets the rest he needs. He's worked incredibly hard on One Piece for over 20 years, and he deserves a break. We can wait for him to come back and finish the story when he's ready.
It'll be a bitter sweet moment if Blackbeard's final moments are him slumping up against a wall saying "You know what? I think it's about time I took a nap...I'm feeling tired..." and just closing his eyes and fading away. Something about Blackbeard, after everything, leaving the world so gently seems...wrong...
If the "Blackbeard dies if he falls asleep" theory is correct, then he better make sure Luffy keeps his skeleton in the closet cause Brook might go Jigglypuff on him.
Pay attention to this:
Chapter 97. Nami dressed as Robin and Hancock, way before either are introduced. Her Hancock-like dress even has a scarf with a dog head that resembles a snake wraping around her.
Chapter 516. Titled "Pirate Empress Boa Hancock". Color spread showing the introductions of all then-crewmates, with a suspicious message: "A casual encounter..."
Episode 1000 opening: Hancock is suspiciously present in a blink-and-you-miss moment near the end of the opening, despite her not being in the then-current Wano arc (like Kid, Law and Yamato, also featured) nor being on the same level of characters directly linked to Luffy (like Rayleigh, Dragon, Ace and Sabo, also featured).
T100 Colorspread with 50+ characters from the popularity poll. Hancock is suspiciously the only character placed in the foreground next to the Straw Hats. She's the only non-Straw Hat standing on the treasure with Luffy and the others, and the closest other non-Straw Hats have a gap between them and the crew. Almost as if, in the future, we are supposed to see her as part of the group when we look back to this very special colorspread.
Loguetown as in epiLOGUE and proLOGUE. The obvious place for the whole thing to start and end
You know you spend too much time in the One piece analysis community when you know everything already lmao thanks for reminding us how great Oda is
the amount of convenience oda sets up, (which i would like to think of most as accidents, because that feels to me as the most one piece thing ever) is amazing, and makes it such an incredible read, and makes me want to reread it again. Greetings from Australia!
There's another Sanji hint even earlier than Mr. Prince. When they're crossing Reverse Mountain, Sanji makes mention about hearing of Ships that are able to climb over the Red Line. (The Germa Ships)
Honestly I don't believe in most of the "foreshadowing", I just think Oda is very good at leaving things open and then playing around it in the future.
As good storytellers do
Like scattering a bunch stuff on the floor and standing back to connect them in a way that’s entertaining.
@collecter343 exactly u throw down the pieces u like and later ur ok I can connect this here and repeat, good Analogy I'll use it to describe foreshadowing like this
I would like to add one thing.
There are clearly two types of "foreshadowing", the ones Oda clearly planned, like Sanji's eye brows in the den den mushi, or the third sake cup
AND
The ones he made it in retrospect like the Yonko cover and Chouchou to name two.
12:00 yoooo there was also a filler arc, Warship Island, in East Blue where Luffy was able to understand what a dragon was saying, and it was VERY pointed out
I still don't buy that Ace's misspelled tattoo was always intended as a tribute to Sabo. I think it originally was a joke, a simple visual gag meant to tell us that Ace is a bit of an idiot, or at least that he's capable of a significant enough lapse of judgement that he would entrust someone who couldn't spell with tattooing his name on him. But Oda's so good at tying things together that he used the misspelled tattoo to give the visual gag significant meaning in retrospect.
I whole heartedly agree with u Especially since it was so open ended the way they tried make it about Sabo by making it his flag , even tho oda just saw an opportunity to reuse assets and make it make sense (allot of good writers do instead of making new things that have no correlation with something in the pas)
Yeah it’s a hilarious visual gag that tells us some tattoo artist thought Ace’s name was Ass, lmao
Imo it's easier to buy it as a tribute than a gag since, you know, the story never pointed it out as a gag.
@@Lackadais1cal It was never outright pointed it out as a tribute either. Especially since the visual aspect of it being a tribute is so easy to go unnoticed since Ace died before we ever got the reveal of the Jolly Roger that Sabo flew when he tried leaving the Goa Kingdom, and said Jolly Roger only appears briefly in that flashback. I didn't even notice that aspect myself until my third viewing of that flashback. Meanwhile the arm tattoo is seen pretty prominently a lot, and without the knowledge of Sabo, it makes total sense to assume that it was a misspelling of Ace's name, especially considering that we are originally led to believe that he and Luffy are biological brothers and have comparable levels of intelligence.
@@MoostachedSaiyanPrinceEasy to go unnoticed but a tribute nonetheless. The story may not be linear with it but chronologically it makes sense.
The section of Zorro crying over a sword is hilarious😂😂😂
I re-read the Alabasta Arc and this may sound like a stretch but.. Croc was tossing Vivi from the Palace walls and as Vivi is falling, she sees a silhouette from the sun. This was when Vivi was losing all hope as she felt powerless to stop the civil war ravaging her country. Yet, she regains her hope after seeing Luffy coming to get her - a strong tie in with Sun God Nika - bringing hope and liberation to Alabasta.
I don't think Kanjuro was suspicious at all because the Strawhat Gang, even after the timeskip, has way too many "I don't know what I'm doing here goes nothing" characters like Luffy and Ussop.
It made him look like an ordinary character. There are so many non-protagonist characters who are large-scale incompetent that you just don't think much of it, like the Marines who shoot Logia users, then say "Oh wAiT iTs a LogIA lEtS uSe tHe rIghT aMmO!" before they get murdered.
Same, I didn't really expect it prior to the big reveal either. Also any time a character betrayed them in the past it happened much earlier, so I think after Kajuro spending that much time with the crew and their allies, it was reasonable to conclude that he was in fact an ally, or at least that the evidence against him was easier to overlook.
