I used these instructions as a guideline:

Here is a great source for bolt/nut torque specs:

Travis... Very well done in all aspects... thanks for letting us watch.. especially for us novices..
I'll be checking this one again when I get mine. Killswitch Engage was a nice touch. Still one of my favorite bands.
Just picked up my new ome dakar leafs. Installing today. Have a 2 inch block on stock leafs right now. Cant wait to get them in. Have bilstein 5100s in the front on stock coils. Set at the 2.5. May end up buying some new coils. 885s or something.
Nice job brother. Good video. Easy to follow you. Thanks much. You didn't make a dork video, you made a very good video. Cheers, The Armed Mariner
great video, can't find a lot out there as far as decent instructions
Going to use this as my guide for my Dakar leaf swap this weekend. Thanks a lot!
Nice video man! Going to be replacing my stock leafs on my 2012 next week. Your video helped me with the removal part.
Great vid man! I'm definitely getting dakars but still deciding on what kind of shocks/coilovers to get for everything else.
Great write up video! Can't wait to get some dakars on the taco
Thanks for the great video and information, I am looking to do this upgrade on my 2015 tacoma TRD off road access cab
Dude...I'm about to do the same thing as he did....but I'm going to do toytec coils 2.5" on the 0" slot on the strut...then rear deaver AAL through toytec also......and if course all 5100's all the way around.....did u do yours yet??
Another ting that works well, is Silicone paste. I will not damage the bushings, but does lube the bolt, center of the bushing well.
Great video, I am ordering mine tomorrow for my 09 double cab
Great video, thanks. Love the avenged in the background!
I think the 5100 b1100's is a good fit with these springs
19:50!!!!! All That Remains!!! Hell Yeah!
hows the load capacity and ride comfort. did you remove the 3rd leaf for comfort/softness, or leave the leaf pack fully assembled?
Fully assembled. Love them still. Sorry for the late reply.
Thanks for the vid broski! Plan on doing my lift in next month.
Hey man good video I’m looking to do that to mine I currently run a 3 inch block but the ride quality is crap how high would this leaf pack lift the rear? Also how is the ride quality with an empty bed is it very harsh?
so i did fox 2.5 coil overs w/ total chaos UCA, and fox rear shock w/ remote resi in the back. I did an AAL on the OEM toyota spring, and i'm not too impressed. I was debating these rear leafs, was curious how they're doing?
Did the new leafs put you up a little higher than the block did? And did they give you a better ride?
Travis - in installing the leaf springs, you didn't put back the aluminum blocks 6:14 under the new leaf springs. I assume it's not needed.
Its looks simple enough. How long did it take you to replace the leaf springs?
Good video and easy to follow. Thanks.
No, the blocks are a cheap, quick, and easy way to lift. I had them on with the stock leaf packs. The OME leaf packs installed give it 2.5-3" of lift. No blocks required. I did however add the angle shim and the D29XL extra leaf a few weeks ago.
@@fuscotj thanks bro. I just bought an Icon w a Dakar leaf spring so your video helps plenty!! Thanks
@@whazupmike Cool, I am running Icons as well. 5100s were okay to start with but it's such a big difference with the Icons.
Good Video Ind to follow Thank my from kuwait
this a great video well done and very helpful.. doing my with the same set up today...
Finally got mine installed tonight, the emer break line seemed real tight afterwards, is this the norm and is it anything to worry about? Crap what a difference in height! Especially since my factory leafs were collapsed. Even with the 5100 on front set at 1.75 I now have the rake back, going to have to lower the 5100 back to 0 and install some 886 coils to get that front end back even. Did you have to do the drive shaft carrier drop kit.
I did do the carrier bearing drop. it helped, but I may need to go a tad more, or angle shim on the axle. I get a slight vibration on initial acceleration. but nothing I can't live with.
Hey man, did you ever find a solution for the tight break line? Am having the same issue and am afraid that i will break something!
Thanks
@@iceANDdice
Get the extended braded lines from off road shop ot parts store the lines are like 4 inches longer and let u bolt the bracket back up without loading the rubber stock lines
Tex, how did the 886s do with the 5100s?
What bushings did you use? There’s about 12 of them on 4wheeler parts. Thanks
Nice ride bro. Thanks for the video!
Looks clean... nice install video !
Does this require the shocks to be replaced as well? Or can you just install the new leaf springs?
Originally I had it setup with the Bilstein 5100 rear shocks, which worked fine. But they seemed a little too short on extension, limiting down travel slightly. Now I have the ICON 2.0 aluminum series.
Depends. Some shocks may limit the travel. Whether on compression or droop.
Travis, which ICON shocks did you go with? The ones with the reservoir or without. Looking to get the Dakar leaf spring and would like to get some shocks that are longer then the 5100's. Also do you know what they are fully extended and compressed?
Nice Vid!!
Did you need to add shims for Drive Line vibrations later?
Thanks
I did get some vibration on acceleration which is pretty common. I ended up putting in a carrier bearing drop kit which helped, but there's still a little shudder on initial acceleration, then nothing after that. May drop it a little more, we'll see. Doesn't really bother me that much.
Travis Fusco Good info. Thanks for the education :)
+Travis Fusco how much does a bearing drop kit cost I want to do same thanks fr sharing this vid
hi travis how much did that lift the rear of your truck and how's the ride.
3"ish. Rides great. Better with a load.
Thanks man, super helpful
I just installed the same springs on my 08 double cab. The 5100's seemed short, same length as stock trd shocks. Shouldn't they be longer? Any advice is appreciated
There are two different length 5100's you can get. The C476 or C478 are for 0-2" of lift, the F4-BE5-B110-T5 are for 3-4" of lift. The longer ones will require a longer bump stop or spacer to bring it up so the shock doesn't bottom out before it reaches the bump stop. On the reverse, the shorter shock may fully extend before the leaf packs do and cause an issue. This won't really be an issue for road driving, but definitely could off road. I am running the C478's, I think they are a tad short technically, but haven't had any issues yet. Might switch to the longer version or some FOX 980-24-675-B, which are for 2-3" of lift.
Travis Fusco This is what I might do in combination with longer shocks: www.allprooffroad.com/05tacomarearsuspension/05flipkit
Travis Fusco Thanks for the advice buddy! Nice to know that some people respond with a positive reply..
Nice video! Very well done.
Are you getting any squeak from the leafs?
Still no squeak since install.
I have the CS047 leaf pack and on an empty bed it rides like 💩💩💩 dump truck
how much lift do dakar leaf pack give?
+paisa1990 3-4"
Did you raise the front of your tacoma if what set up did you go with
just some Bilstein 5100 with Eibach coils from ToyTec, set at the second setting from the lowest.
Upgraded to Icons. Way better ride.
Did you switch out your ucas when you changed to icon front coilovers or did the spc ucas work fine?
Which bilstein shocks did you use for the rear?
I had the Bilstein 5100 series in the rear. Then switched to Icon 2.0's. Now I am currently running Radflo 2.5" extended travel shocks.
Thanks for the video and reply! Super helpful, just picked up the OME dakar HD pack and extended 5100.
What was your install time?
how much are this, thanks
are the left and right leaf springs the same?
Yes, they are.
What size tire are you running ?
