Thank you for sharing this video. Loved Howdy, Uncle Bob, Clarabelle and all of the other characters, too. Can’t ever forget the song, “It’s Howdy Doody time…!”
My dad had a Pinball Machine -Juke Box business and then went into TV, Radio, Record Player Sales and Service about 1955. We were lucky kids having both a Pinball Machine and Juke Box in the basement to play and TV, Radios, and Record Player at home. I remember our first TV about 1950 with a tiny screen in a big wooden box full of "tubes".
I saw Clarabelle and Buffalo Bob in person at Glen Echo Amusement Park, Bethesda MD when I was about 4-5 years old. I also saw Gene Autry and his horse Champ ( the singing cowboy, wrote Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and owner of a baseball or foot ball team) in person in Washington DC when I was a little kid.
One of my earliest Christmas memories is of seeing this on one of those old public domain compilation vhs tapes when i was a child back in the 90s! It's so nice to see this in such high resolution, thanks for posting this and a merry Christmas to everyone who reads this!
Ugly Sam was Dayton Allen, who did the voices for Phineas T. Bluster and the Flub-a-dub. Yes, I"m a boomer and yes, I watched every day in the early 1950's.
Now show some Gene Autry, Hoppylong Cassidy and other old cowboy movies, Captain Video, Ding Dong School, Winky Dinks, Pinky Lee, Dinah Shore Variety Show, etc....
Ahh, the good ole days. Brings back childhood memories

Born in 56, lived in Detroit. Never saw Howdy Doody but we had Soupy Sales and Jingles.
I never missed this show. So simplistic looking back today but so great.
This should be on theatre screens as a short subject picture instead of the advertisements of local businesses.

A bit before my time, but I showed this to my dad. He grinned from ear to ear. Thanks for posting, and Merry Christmas to you.

Howdy Doody was one of the first things I watched when we got our first black and white TV.
My sister Paula Wanted to marry Buffalo Bob when she was 11 years old. I loved Princess Summer Fall Winter Spring. 😍
Howdy Doody was one of my favorite shows way back ( WAaaaaaaY Back !)

Loved howdy growing up even if it was just reruns
Clarabelle later became Captain Kangaroo. And Buffalo Bob did the voice of Howdy Doody.
flash gordon , dr zarcovs rocket ship:)
I’m not a baby boomer and this is so much better than the crappy reboots and filth that is being consumed by Gen Alpha
How true that is.
They should do a remake with Jason Stratham as Howdy Doody.
That was captain Kangaroo
Cartoon showed Santa taking off from North Pole with the sun shining down on him. North Pole should be in the peak of 24 hour darkness at Christmas.

born in 1964 /60 y/o

I’m not a boomer and even I love howdy doody and I love a howdy doody Christmas so it not fair to title your video as only for boomers
That’s telling it like it is!
should be for boomers only and beyond .
Charming show, the "for boomers only" tag is such a turn off lol
My dad talked about howdy doody constantly he was born in 1948 I have no clue when this was aired. What's up with Clarabelle a womans name?
MCMLI = 1951
Interesting point.
Correct.
The Roman numeral MCMLI indicates 1951
