Your videos are never too long. I enjoy the learning your reasoning for your pen and ink designs. I am sure we all feel your intensity for your cause and your obsession to make a great product for your cause. We all appreciate it! Much love!
Thanks for making this available, I love your design philosophy... and as an artist thinking of having one of these in hand makes me smile. No more stupid cartridges for my Pentel.
They are hand made...very few get out, a handful were sent out yesterday. They have not yet reached any wide distribution because there simply are not enough ready yet....but working on it all the time. In 1987 I would have paid a lot for an ebonite piston filler like the Konrad - and it is an incredible experience to be within striking distance of being able to offer such a pen for a fraction of what I myself would have paid for one back then.
Thank YOU, Nathan, for giving us an insight into your mind. I really do enjoy watching your videos no matter how long they are. I have a brush pen from the first batch, I think, still without the blind cap, and use it with Dragon Catfish Orange daily for highlighting. I couldn't imagine a day at the university without my favourite Noodler's pens and inks. Keep up the good work!
I'm speechless...thank you Nathan for your very creative thought process of thinking "far out" of the box. I really, really hope it catches on. Thank you again. Live long and prosper. 👽
I am glad that you are making a brush pen again I purchased one of your brush pens you made a couple of years ago. Sadly someone liked better than me & when I went to purchase another one I was told that they were no longer in production. I was told that you were working on a new model & I can't wait until I see them for sale. Additionally I big fan of Manjiro Nakahama Whaleman's Sepia & Kung Te Cheng inks as well as many of your more main stream inks my new favorite color is Burma Road Brown
I just got a couple of sheaffer with triumph nibs my first ones I am trying to restore using your video from gaskets but if all else fails I now have a great reason to buy a brush pen. Thanks Nathan always learning something new from these videos.
Thanks Nathan, I'm not and artist but I enjoy all your video's, inks and pens!!! Keep up the good work, along with that Yankee know how, and frugality...
I know that because of the state of Taxachusetts you are often a one man show however I am anxiously awaiting the return of your brush pen. I was the proud owner of the early model brush pens until a no good rotten SOB decided that he or she liked it better than me. This of course happen after the first batch of this pen sold out from Goulets last fall. I miss my brush pen and hope that you are able to have enough for sale via your normal retailers again soon. PS I do enjoy you videos
This is amazing - I use brushpens (Pentel) all the time, can't wait for these to hit the shelves. Big fan of your flex nib's and I'm a regular Ahab user ;-). The Pentel brushpen's are ok for a while but the fibres wear out and they are 'disposable'... It would be great to stick some quality sable into one of these.
This is really cool. I'm sort of detachedly excited about this, but I'm not sure simply sharing the video will suffice to explain that to anyone that might find more use for these than me, because of the length and background knowledge sort-of required, hehe. I do really wish I'd known about refillable highlighters back in high, school, though...that is a very obviously useful technology. I'm forever trying to conserve disposable highlighters, and I'm sure one of these would've been worth it....
There are some in transit - retailers should have them available in a few days. I hope you like the new model...if enough people do like them, this time - we can finally offer some quantities and hopefully no longer chronically fail to meet demand. Keeping the cost to the pen user low and the value highest...and yet try to get the pen available over a wide area at the same time....is a challenge.
First run is a small group, Luxury Brands will know who ordered them first...but in time I hope every Noodler's retailer will be well stocked. I think they are perfect as an adaptable long term use instrument...but the public always has greater insight...if they like them, more will be made...if they find something I missed it will be back to the drawing board. I think this is the best though - it is the model I would have paid more for myself had I stumbled into such a pen 20 years ago.
I dont mean to be off topic but does someone know of a method to get back into an instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Brock Beckham I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
What a fantastic video. I was completely fascinated and can't wait to track down the pen and start experimenting with sketches! Thank you! I love your Kung Te-Cheng ink for sketching, but have been worried that I'm not disciplined enough to use it in my fountain pens. Am I right that would not be an issue for the brush pen?
Some of the Asian historical inks (Manjiro Nakahama is another) are designed with the brush in mind - but a lot of people have been using them with flex nib pens for years now with pleasing results. Rinse the pen out now and then with water - perhaps soak the nib and feed, as needed...as per your preference...whenever it seems like it might need it. I have one pen that has not been refilled or rinsed for two years...uses Kung Te Cheng and writes phone messages. Only have to q-tip the inner cap every few months due to evaporation/condensation cycles.
20:29: I need this instruction on how to split and replace a Konrad brush replacement! Is this anywhere to reference? I no longer have this and I'm lost without instruction!!
Even when capped my brush tip dries out. Even for 20 mins of capped time. If left overnight I spend ages trying to get it working again but I'm lucky if I get it going again. Help?
theartyone Towards the end of the video, Nathan suggests reestablishing capillary flow by flushing with very dilute soapy water, or refilling the pen via the piston fill. Something to enable the air/ink intake. Hope that helps!
Huge fan on Noodler's products and philosophy. Thank you for the thorough video! Just to confirm - does the Konrad pen feed fit into the Noodler's brush pen?

Great video as always, Nathan.
Any idea when those gorgeous ebonite Konrads will be released?
THIS GUY IS SO COOL!

Thank you so much, you saved my account !
@Enzo Cristiano No problem :)

Too much coffee and really long hours over many years...I'm not old yet, but I feel it (been at this since I was extremely young).
What retailers will have these?
Thank you.

I guess, Mr. Tardiff don't You Tube no mo'.
Goulet Pens in Virginia, great company!
great video yo
Are you shaking,I do not mean to pry I am just curious.
Won't tell.
Maybe a little more organization before shooting? Distracting to see a plethora of randomness when you come to check out a single pen.
kycounterstrike It doesn't say 'brush pen' it says brush pen applications.
