The first Jim James song to bring me to tears while singing. 2024 still love you guys. I severely missed yall in Atl on the Sept 14th...my birthday.......shame. Peace.
They played this song in Raleigh NC, maybe 10 years ago, and it brought chills to my spine.... One of their greatest songs yet no one really knows it. Hope to see them again this fall in CLT!
Really though, they used to be more or less a straight country band, but their sound has absolutely evolved. When you're writing country albums then playing prince covers live, you're a sufficiently eclectic band.
@ickaru Who ever wrote this comment obviously has a mind so narrow you can slip it under a door. The song is sexist, juvenile and insulting? Not in this universe. It's just a touching, simple tale of a man's attraction to a woman. But this post doesn't surprise me. UA-cam is littered with comments written by people who will use any opportunity to push their agendas.
i would simply say "indie".. or "magical super space rock from another galaxy" - i think the first one rolls off the tongue marginally better than the second.. although if 100 people ask you what the genre is.. and you use the 2nd one.. over the first one... you'll actually,,, in total.. spend 14 years of your life, simply telling someone what the genre of MMJ is...
This song is sexist, juvenile and insulting. Who ever wrote this has obviously never set foot in a library. It's not a librarian's job to look sexy. Being a librarian is sexy enough. This song is just based off an ignorant stereotype. Not to mention it's also really dull and repetitive. It's lyrics are insipid and it's just difficult to listen to.

Excellence! Loving this song.
MMJ is a band that also sounds great in the studio. Many don't. Love the orchestral parts in the studio version too.

I've listened to this song before, but never REALLY listened to the lyrics. I'm so glad I did.
