    I was at the dealership doing my oil change & oil filter changed. They told me I needed an air filter, i told them put it in. They told me it will cost an additional $169.00. I ordered the filters from Amazon. I am disabled and I was still able to put it in. But thank you for this video.

      I’m glad you did it yourself and saved all that money… they’re trying to make as much money as they can from the customers. I also do the oil change at home in less than 20 minutes and under $30, using synthetic oil, premium filter(that’s key) and new plug crush washer.

      @@edwinmontero3843 I was paralyzed from the neck down on my left side in 2019. I use to love doing everything on my car, impossible now. I am going avoid Nissan Service unless it’s thing’s on warranty.

    Thank you so much!! $80 at the dealership. Nuts. I bought it from Amazon for under $14 and was delivered in two days. My son will help me as my hands are not what they used to be. Again....THANK YOU!

    It's a little easier if you squeeze the middle of the filter to make two round fans. Then put the top part in first followed by the bottom of the filter. Even faster!! Thanks for your video.

    On my 2016 Rogue there is one Phillips head screw which is not present on his video just above the ring you pull on (it is silver and easy to see). I pulled so hard that the ring snapped off then I realized there is a Phillips screw holding the bracket in place very securely. If your rogue has a screw you will need to remove it prior to pulling off the bracket. I learned the hard way now need to find a replacement bracket.

    I buy this filter and my engine air filter from Amazon for $40, free shipping. I save $160 over what my dealer wants to install both of these filters. Thanks for the video. I also have a 2016 Rogue and no screw, but good to know some models may have one.

    Thank you for video. I’m having a very hard time getting new filter back in. I’m afraid of bending too much damaging it. You should 😢he engine filter too. That was super easy. Idk why Nissan makes it so difficult . Lexus you open glove box slide new filter in done in seconds! My dealer want $178 to replace both filters. I paid $35 at auto zone and did it myself

    I found the small screw the first time I changed the cabin filter. I removed it and the rest was easy. The dealer told ne I needed a cabin filter and air filter. I told him I had just replaced the cabin filter and could do the air filter since I have been working on cars for 62 years and the air filter turned out to be the easiest I ever replaced. That was easy...but did you place the filter back in the correct way? When you removed the old filter the creases were going horizontal but when you put the new one in, the creases were going vertically...is that a problem?

    • @edwinmontero3843
      @edwinmontero3843  4 роки тому

      Gregory Miyata hi! The filter has an arrow, at least the original one, which it tells you the direction. Even the replacement filters have an arrow that says “towards cabin” ⬆️ or something like that.

    I can't get my filter out for some reason! It's stuck inside really tight and it somehow rotated 90 degrees while I was trying to get a better grip and it's now inside vertically!! HELP!!
    Ok, just tried again, ripped out the original filter into pieces but got it out, then my problem was getting the new filter in... I didn't remember if the filter went it Horizontally or Vertically so I just shoved it in and hoped for the best... Honestly, I might just go back to the dealer next time to get this done because it's not as easy as it looks... The stupid design is so physically unattainable that it just pisses me off... Great video by the way, but for a couple of dollars more, I suggest you guys let the pros do it to save you from the stress!

    • @edwinmontero3843
      @edwinmontero3843  7 років тому +1

      Hi, there's no screws to remove anything. Old posts show people taking out drawers and panels and many other things for accessibility, but all you need is the time and patience to pull the lid out. The filter tells you the direction in which to put it in!

  • @Ravprot

    Costs $90 from the dealer, both parts and labor. I ordered filter online for $20 and installed myself. The location of filter has got to be the most idiotic! Why is it hidden in the most difficult location?

    It’s not a 6 second easy job at all. Don’t forget to remove a screw on 2017 Rogue located on the door cap to avoid break it. I don’t try it myself next time.

    • @edwinmontero3843
      @edwinmontero3843  4 роки тому

      Hi! After I did the video I found out that the 2016 Rogue is assembled/made in three places: Tennessee-USA, in Mexico and in Korea. Mine is from Korea an didn’t have a screw to hold the small lid where the cabin filter is. I’ve heard from other people that the lid have a screw.
      It didn’t take me few seconds... it took me about 5 minutes. Sometimes it requires patience; or definitely pay the ridiculous price at the dealership.

  • @edwinmontero3843
    @edwinmontero3843  7 років тому

      Edwin Montero, the filter on Amazon is about $25 and it's a genuine Nissan filter. $79.95-$25=$54.95. They're charging over $50 to do a 5 minute job. It IS outrageous to get it done at the dealership.

    • @edwinmontero3843
      @edwinmontero3843  7 років тому

    This video is a lie. There is a Phillips head screw installed, either he already removed it and is trolling everyone or the previous owner or dealer never re-installed the screw.

    • @edwinmontero3843
      @edwinmontero3843  6 років тому +7

      I’m sorry! My Rogue doesn’t have a screw, period! I’ve heard from other people that there’s a Phillips screw. In my research I found that it depends in which Nissan factory was assembled. All you have to do is to remove it and then proceed as usual Please, do your own research and instruct yourself before accusing people of lying!!! Or you can go ahead an get ripped off at the dealership... Thanks!
