    MORE INFO **I also set my screen saver to 'Never' (to go to sleep) under System Preferences-Desktop&Screen Saver-Never (see more info below)
    **I also disabled iCloud (after resurrecting my screen back) and now had no issues with the black screen for 2 weeks so far!

    Step number 7 worked for me!! I let it heat up a little under the sheets and pressed on the ‘opts, cmn, p and r’. I had to do it 3 or 4 times and it worked.
    Thank you so much!

    Omg thank you SO much! Step 1 worked for me! This computer has been dead with a black screen for over a week & I searched every forum to no avail!

    Thank you! You are a life (Macbook Pro?) saver. I tried everything; screen brightness, resetting the PRAM, resetting the SMC, hitting the eject button but nothing worked. As a last resort following your suggestion, I took off the computer back (2012 Macbook Pro), disconnected the battery, pressing the power button for 10 sec and VOILA! The screen worked. I love my old Macbook and was devastated at the thought of having to replace it. Now I won't have to. Mille Grazie as my Italian friends would say.

    My mother took her MacBook pro to the computer store. After a few days they called her to say that they could only fix it by replacing the "main board" and charging her $40. She brought it home, I asked her if I could give it a shot. I found your video after trying another suggestion that didn't work. Tried step 4, 4 times and it came back to life! Thank you so much for the video 😊

    I wish you would have slowed this down. It moves too fast for me to catch all off it. For instance,I got mine back up last night only tho lose it again today because I did not see yo rec to go back to Sierra. Now I can not get back up again despite numerous attempts.

    • @becasso74
      @becasso74  7 років тому

      Sometimes black-screen appears when signing in. Try closing the laptop lid and then opening again. That might help. It might be obvious, but also it's worth putting the laptop on charge as it's hard to know the battery level when the screen is black. If the screen is black but you suspect the laptop is switched on, then Step 7 might help, by wrapping the laptop in some blankets or something, and allowing it to heat up for about 10 minutes. Then try pressing 'Options, CMD P and R' buttons. Good luck! I wish Apple could sort out this epidemic Mac problem!

    I solved my black screen display problem. I dropped my Macbook Pro (13' - 2015) flat on the floor and when I turned it on there was a chime sound and the screen is black and wouldn't turn on display despite my keyboard working.
    I tried doing all the PRAM / SMC reset, but they did not work. After three months of trying, I randomly press alongside the black band at the top edge connecting the screen and the keyboard, and then connected my mac via HDMI to my TV (using mirror mode), and the Mac screen started to work again.
    It works perfectly now. I don't know if this will work for you but it did for me and it save me from spending 400$ to get the screen replaced. Best of luck!

      LOL what the heck this actually worked!
      I was on my way to do the ctrl + option... etc thing. While backing up my computer memory with a harddrive. While it's backing up I came across your command and gave it a try. I close the macbook pro lid and press on the black thing, when I open it again it worked. LOL
      Thanks Madinay!
