  • Over 3 nights from Thur 01/02/18, Lampson Australia had the task of moving the 256 tonne generator which was being transported from the power station at Loy Yang, to a ship in Port Melbourne. The whole set up was 108 meters ( 354 feet ), 6.5 meters ( 21 feet ) wide, and 5 meters ( 16 feet ) high. The total set up weighed in at 650 tonnes (1 433 000 pounds ) in weight.
    The first night saw it travel from Loy Yang to Officer, the second night from Office to Dingley, and then the final night shown in the video, it traveled from Dingley to Port Melbourne.
    The generator is going back to Siemens in Germany to be overhauled.
    The first view shows leaving Dingley in front of a large crowd, and then a little later as they make their way down Nth Road near Murrumbeena.

    Everywhere they do this kind of massive transport event I’m so impressed by the meticulous planning that goes into every one, and Australia wide they all have the same fleet of 2 flashing cars in front a bit and the 2 Mac trucks attached to the front platform of the giant carrying train and then the back platform of the thing getting pushed by 2 trucks in the back, followed by an extra Mac truck just driving behind and then a white van and a white Ute all with flashing lights

    Funny how we got.more excited about a big generator move than the whole super blue moon event.Still this might make some people think a little more about how their electricity is generated. Well we can only hope so

    It's a 650 Ton generator not a 250ton, don't know how you can fuck that up when vicroads clearly stated it.

    • @emd645e3c
      @emd645e3c  6 років тому +1

      I think you need to go to Spec savers. From Vicroads Site " Between the 1st and 4th of February, a 256-tonne generator will be transported from Traralgon to the Port of Melbourne.". Like you said.....Dunno how you could fuck that up, it was written double size in bold at the top.

      Vicroads-Autobots...roll out! Here's your official look at the #truckinghuge 108m, 650 tonne "#Superload".
      I guess vicroads has multiple story writers, makes you wonder what the actual weight of the load is.

      The 650 t figure was an total weight, trucks, trailers, load, the lot. www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/newsmedia/2018/a-massive-108m-load-on-the-move
