In AD 71, a legion of 5,000 Romans marched north, crossed the River Humber, and established a base at York. What was it like to be one of the first Romans to set foot in northern Britain? What infrastructure did they build other than forts? How did they interact with locals? And what was their legacy?

Many thanks for making and posting this video. Not only have I enjoyed the content right the way through, I've also enjoyed your - Ginny and Freddie - down-to-earth and friendly presentation. You two are great, and a refreshing change from modern-day Time Team, which I often find a little too glib and plasticky. Love the wind in the sound - made me feel I was there walking round the site. And there's that brilliant dog! ;-) Good Luck with the last few days!
