  • this is a full build of Italeri Kit No. 6523 P.Kpfw. I Ausf. B styled in early war camo.
    I received this Kit as a gift from my Girlfriend, so consider it a fun build. Yeah I messed up the tracks a little bit but the weathering went fine ; )

    I’m 4 years late seeing this video, but absolutely love it. Being a Tanker myself, I love all tanks. Great job, and greetings from Las Vegas, Nv. USA!

    Just stumbled upon this one. I am currently working on the exact same kit. It is exactly as you describe it(wish i knew before, because I have left the engine covers and track holders on). Once again, great job done Kai! Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work my friend.

      Hey, I've seen yours and will watch it the next days - it is okay to leave the stuff on, it is mentioned in Panzer Tracts - did find the other days. The vent covers are for hot climate (Tropen) the other stuff is just field modified. Given these tanks were build between August 1936 and May 1937, there was a lot of time to alter stuff around.

    You have done a nice job weathering this little guy! I think you are on to something with the rain streaks. It provided that contrast and dusty effect as well. Built in such a short time too! I will nitpick you on one item and that is the straightness of the tracks. They seem a bit wonky on the idlers and drive sprockets. I just finished the same style of tracks on my Dragon Type-97 and a lot of care is needed to keep these little suckers straight. Nevertheless, I hope you give us more wip videos so you don't disappear for three weeks. I will also try using thinner to pretreat the paint before you apply it. Seems to make a nice surface to move the paint around as needed. Cheers and as always, thanks for the new content! The longer video was great!

      Thank you, for next week I'm set up to bring a video on resin printing king tiger tracks - there is plenty to talk about aside from build updates, no worry ; ) You are absolutly right with the tracks, I messed them up completly, countermessures: Thicker glue and better modulization are beeing implemented at this very moment on my bench - I'll take more care in the future. Every Enamel and Oil paint is happy to float around on a moist surface. Just use the good thinner - the ones from AK or Ammo, they just know thier own paint best, I learned this the hard way ; )

    Lovely result - the dust and rain streaks are very well done. I certainly wasn't expecting single link tracks! I wish they'd have put a set of the old 'rubber band' type in as well - too much messing about with those tiny links can drive me mad! Cheers.

    Schönes Video von Dir. Gut vorgeführte einzelne Schritte mit Erläuterung, was will man mehr.
Ein schönes Geschenk was Du nun perfektioniert hast.

Have you built the ex tri start one that new hobby boss line? Honestly if you haven't I really can't recommend it enough! The detail for such a small tank is outstanding I'd love to show you a photo of what I have done with mine! Also in D.A.K configuration! Used African korps dragon figures I painted the panzer 1 ausf A in Dunkelgrau sealed and weathered abitty with enamels just streaking and some rust effects then went over it with my favourite product from AK there worn effects for chipping! Ypu won't find better of more realistic and great to use for white washes and the Gelbbraun over the grey and worn through so the DAK paints worn through to the old grey she's a wee beauty! And used metal barrels for the MGs there nice they stand out alot on this kit compared to when used on other's!

      I'm building the Tristar Flakpanzer I atm, together with Dragons 2cm Flak 38. I do like the Tristar kit very much and yet it shows it's age. I personally rate modelkits by the ballance of having a good time assembling it as well as how much time is wasted for example on unnessesary cleanup like mold lines and oversized sprue gates. At least the FlaK component of the Tristar kit does not hold up when compared. The chassis is good, better than Italeri imho. i'd like build a dragon Pz I kit first before I finally settle for a brand. but that's just me ; ) You can add me on scalemates.com btw, I'd love to see your builds!

    @Tankbrusher Scale Did Italeri give the CORRECT type of Idler Wheel for their Pz.Kpf. i Ausf B kit? The Idler Wheel of the Ausf B was distinctively DIFFERENTE from the Ausf A Idler Wheel.

    What you think of Italeri models?

    • @Tankbrusher
      @Tankbrusher  3 роки тому +1

      They were fine and fun for me in the beginning. Nowadays I buy much more books and research my builds a lot. I moved on, Italeri I left behind. Pro: small part count, usually fittng together well enough. Con: very old molds / reboxes, soft detail and in many cases unfixable inaccurate. Only speaking of German ww2 stuff...

      @@Tankbrusher Cool, thanks for the reply. Sound a bit like the older Tamiya kits.

    • @Tankbrusher
      @Tankbrusher  3 роки тому

      @@nathanc5778 It kind of depends on what you are looking for. Compare Italeri's Hezter - I think it's thier worst kit the geometry is totaly off. Than look at thier Bergepanther rebox -> it has flaws but is actually a nice looking kit, has PE included and can be finished in a reasonable time - compared to takoms full interior kit (okay that's a totaly different level, I know..). Italeris strength is more in the truck section.

    • @nathanc5778
      @nathanc5778 3 роки тому

      @@Tankbrusher Ok. I mainly build German armour. I like Dragon but I live in Canada and Dragon 1/35th scale kits are absurdly expensive. So I look for other brands and then use upgrade sets. For instance, I just finished Tamiya's 35th scale Tiger I early production. I was able to buy that kit used, and a Voyager full PE/resin upgrade set for less than the Dragon out of the box! Same with a Takom StuG III. Like your videos, and appreciate your input on Italeri (never built one).

    • @Tankbrusher
      @Tankbrusher  3 роки тому

      @@nathanc5778 You should keep an eye on Takom, Meng and RFM and Bronco than and if you don't mind high part counts Miniart is insanly good! I can fix a lot by printing my own stuff, still, a lot of times it's just not worth the time involved. This is true for Dragons Panthers as well for example. Tamiya is very popular but as soon as you start to upgrade thier stuff, one of newer chinese brands will be more time and cost efficient - even at a higher part count
