Hi Mike, I just stumbled across your lessons and I'm delighted I did, great content and easy to follow with the PDFs, I've been struggling with the mandolin for ages but thanks to your channel I think that'll change, many thanks for putting these lessons together and sharing your skills for free, keep up the great work!
Hi Mike, Just bought my self an Irish Bouzouki (HORA), I play guitar and mandolin since the mid 1960's.(Rock/blues/folk/standards etc) (The mandolin needs some work, but its coming). the tuning is similar, just the 1st pair of strings tuned down to D. There's Irish and Scottish in my DNA so I love Jigs and Reels. I've only ever played by ear, so your TABs are excellent you're lessons are spot on, with some little hacks. a tonic for me. I shall look for some more.
Great video. I play guitar in a community ceilidh band and as this is one of our stock tunes I found your backing technique fascinating. I know you teach mandolin but I would really appreciate a breakdown of the backing guitar technique.
well this was fun! only been plucking the mando for a month and find that sometimes beginner lessons can be discombobulating (sadly, i'am easily discombobulated) but his TAB is unexpectedly, and exceptionally easy to follow! if i can do it? ANYBODY CAN :)
