so i think my favorite part about this was at 45:00 you get a backstory where the mother-figure was like "your lesson was to never trust that someone will be there for you" then when the flashback is over the little pet Nix bite's the evil guy and she's like "always there when i need you!" so clearly the flashback lesson did not matter at all
Imagine if this had an open world in the style of Saint’s Row. Watching this Ubisoft game and thinking “Man, this would be great if this wasn’t a Ubisoft game.”
That doesn’t really make sense, like a game being great is irrelevant to era or date of release. If you think this would pass fifteen years ago I can agree but let’s not act like that’s the marker for quality
@@Z3R0NU11 Im mostly saying that because back then people weren't fed constant mediocre Star Wars movies and series and the open world genre wasn't as established and oversaturated. Assassins Creed 1 is not a particularly bad game by any means, but its a lot less respected nowadays because that formula was ran into the ground. In that same way 15 years ago people would've been all over an open world spinoff of the starwars franchise.
The voice actor is so bad - not like her acting itself but maybe the direction she was given. It's like they told her to deliver EVERY line like she has no confidence in herself. It's so weird. She's supposed to be an outlaw. She should be self confident and convincing, you know, like Han Solo. Instead she's odd and awkward.
Generally slop-content isn't _bad_ . I'm perfectly fine with getting 10-20 hours out of what constitutes as mediocre, it's just not gonna be a core memory for me and that's okay 'Still $70 so probably sitting this one out until a sale
Most blasters have either a cartridge or power cell to supply energy for the "blast" but even then, they're good for 100-500 shots depending on what type your using, which means they literally wasted some poor devs and animators time to work on that entire system for who knows how long just have it as "another feature"
@TheOriginalSeveth gunplay and inpactfulness was always gonna be a problem given both in universe reasons and.. it's GoobiSoft. It was at least an attempt, but they couldn't even do that either

To be fair, the same Lego star wars game has been released five times now. Im not saying its bad, im just saying that im getting kinda tired of paying for the same thing over and over
Disney is definitely just phoning it in at this point, doing the absolute bare minimum possible to make a product. It could not be any more obvious with the basic bitch choices they've made regarding their games. "Uuuh.. EA is the biggest gaming company, right? Just let them do it." Then of course, with Ubisoft being the second biggest. And, while somewhat off topic, you can't help but notice all their Star Wars streaming shows are CW-tier garbage. I'm genuinely surprised they even make Star Wars animated series that don't look like Family Guy or cheap CGI like the Megamind show.
"Starwars Outlaws" Where you play as the good guy and save the world, and pet random animals, and sit in random chairs that do nothing, and have an incredibly linear experience on progressing.
This game is for the croud of working adults who have less than one hour a night to game and I mean less than. Id be disappointed if i saved this game for my day off when i had some real time to spend. It also is easy to watch other people play as second screen content. Ubisoft has their market pinned down.
They just had to make a good FarCry or AC with a StarWars skin and dive deep into the Star Wars theme. I think a 2013 Ubisoft team would have done that no problem. This one of those aggressively mid Ubisoft games that I streamers are gone drool over for a week until the next slop comes around...
Why does one person talk in Huteese and then the other talks in English and they just go back and forth instantly understanding each other.... I didn't get that.

I will say that after you get past a few mandatory stealth sections and upgrade your abilities, the game gets a lot better. Just takes getting used to.
I feel the amount of criticism this game is getting is a bit unwarranted to be honest. Like what did people expect other than an Ubisoft open world game with a Star Wars veneer? That's all it was ever going to be and they didn't say it would be anything other than that. Everyone who has played Far Cry, Watch Dogs or recent AC games can't claim to be surprised by what it's like, so if you don't like those kind of games why even buy it? Personally i think it's okay, combat gets dull quite quickly and not really a fan of the focus on stealth, but the world is great to explore, the story if unoriginal does keep you engaged and it has some likeable characters
I like how half the sentence is literally admitting the things people don't like about the game. You're essentially pretending that there aren't other games out there. The entire reason people criticize things is because they wish it were better. In reality what's happening and what led to this game's low sales *IS* the fact the vast majority of the public are apathetic towards Ubisoft and don't even care. If you shoo away criticism as well because you project it to be hate, you'll no longer get games like this either. You just played yourself, because you want no one to talk about Outlaws and instead just get forgotten like it probably will with the likes of Forspoken, which I've heard people in the past say "it's an underrated modern classic" but even proponents for it have forgotten about it and just said that in a moment of euphoria. Now enjoy the mid AAA Ubislop while you can, because it's not going to last forever. Sooner or later the people will get what they want regardless of if you'll like it or not. You probably will though because you're simply too attached to a barebones formulaic system you're too afraid to let go due to fear of change. Given what you've presented so far is disjointed and a rather poor argument based on emotion, I'm not very hopeful you have a good argument to counter all that I've just said, so don't be too surprised if I don't even humor you a reply. It's not because you somehow won the argument, it's because interacting with people who are irrational is a waste of time.
No, it's not unwarranted. The game is not up to standard. Being a “Ubisoft open world game” doesn't give it free license for technical problems, slapdash design and lacking interactivity, which is what you seem to be implying
