You are very right but there is more to it. Every 100 years, God allows only two superpowers in the world, and if any superpower follows God's laws, then their status continues beyond a 100 years. See the ancient empires, Greco, Roman, Chinese, Persian etc and in our time the Spanish, Portuguese, Muslim, British, US.

As an Italian living in England for nearly thirty years I can tell you the media never loved Europe, and neither the English. They rather see one more Mosque in their backyard then a pizzeria. But more importantly I always wondered at how could the North be so poor and underdeveloped whilst London was basking in richness and glory. It was enough to tell Northeners it was all Europe fault. The poor, the homeless and jobless voted Brexit. The elderly voted Brexit hoping to see the return of the Commonwealth or even colonialism. A grand delusion based on hope ditching security, the devil you know, the EU. All I can wish my English friends (Scots and Irish voted remain) is good luck !

"What started it was we weren't prepared to grovel and crawl to the EU like other countries who have no pride or dignity.".
On the contrary Britain has always demanded more exceptions than other member states. Cameron's begging trip to Brussels as a good example asking for more than he would accept any other member to have. The British whine more than any other European people, and to some extent I can understand it, but it has nothing to do with being a member of the EU and leaving the EU will mend nothing as it's a fully domestic problem.

@@Jackwoody413 , such a bullshit question you apparently fell for. Britain like every other EU member state is a sovereign country. Rules within the union are agreed upon by the member states to create a functioning market and level playing field.
The UK when trading with the EU from outside will adhere to the same rules but now with no input. Should Britain go WTO the Britain will have to adopt those rules and should there be a trade deal with the USA then Britain will follow those rules too,
And there are rules related to the UN and NATO. And you will obey international rules too unless you want to go all North Korea. Your domestic laws and rules you will write as today. Alone Britain is just too tiny to be anything more than a rule taker internationally.

Yes. Because freedom of movement is one of the four pillar of the EU, and while it is possible to be exempt from it, one has to fulfil the markers for it. The UK didn't...above all not because it didn't even use the options it had to curb freedom of movement. Quite the opposite in fact. It threw its border open at every opportunity and then dared to complain about its own decisions. You can't expect the EU to undermine its very fundament just because your politicians are incompetent.

This is a fair analysis. The most important reasons: 1> The EEC was only supposed to be an agreement to trade goods & services with minimum red tape & tariffs...it was not supposed to be setting laws, overruling British courts, telling British people how to live & dictating who could come into the country. 2> Everyone knows Britain & Europe for ordinary working people today is in decline. The gap between the top & bottom is getting wider & the middle section is getting noticeably hollowed out. Britain has always been an industrial & manufacturing nation yet today, less than 2million British workers now make a living from manufacturing, with factories now located in China & Asia along with the masses of jobs which used to be British. The EU wants to "save the planet" by closing down heavy industry & putting the country at an economic disadvantage as they cut emissions before any reliable, cheap, base load power source available & there still is no alternative today. But as quickly as the EU closes down the dirty manufacturing, China & other Asian countries build them. Very clearly something big has to change & it needs to be political. People need good, well paid, secure jobs & they need to feel happy in those jobs. Zero hours, minimum wage, independent contractor, part time, gig economy, Uberization, call center, customer service & uninteresting, uninspiring jobs are not going to provide this & unfortunately no matter what happens, things are going to get a lot worse because of AI & Automation...People feel left behind & hopeless...they feel like they are living in an Orwellian society... Britain is a canary in the coal mine for the Western world & BREXIT is the leading edge of the birds falling from the perches everywhere in the west. Politicians who ignore this do so at their peril!

Very valid point indeed, It's of a critical imperative requisite for a financial center to be integrated and not disenfranchised to international markets and to act as a nerve center and a gateway to trade in international transaction flows. This is the most lethal blow that Brexit will bring to UK.

Not even close for accuracy. This report has not even gotten close to the EMOTIONAL reason for Brexit. Britain complained about the EU court having sovereignty over their own. That would have been the same for all the other EU countries so why did Britain think they should be any different from the other EU countries---were Germans crying, were Italians, French, Spanish, Portuguese complaining. So, it was all EMOTIONAL because the British have always thought they were better than anyone else---as their recent fairytale coronation demonstrated---those are the roots of Brexit.

Brexit is going to go so badly that we'll probably end up rejoining the EU in about 5-10 years. After all our industries have been decimated. Financial services are starting to leave the City Of London which is a truly terrible thing for London, the UK and the EU. Fifty years of Europe concentrating it's finance in London is now being broken up into a horrendously inefficient system spread between many European cities. No matter how much Frankfurt or Paris want British banks it is far worse for the EU as a whole. Yet by the looks of things the current government will "rebalance the economy" by dragging London down to the level of northern cities.
It's a disaster that I've regretfully accepted will happen but I'll reiterate that when London does well Europe does well. So when London is broken up by Europe they'll have to suffer the consequences of having everything that's currently concentrated in a square mile spread all over a continent.
