  • Apple Vision Pro is finally out and in my first hands on impressions using this device I have to say that I was blown away by how impressive this new piece of technology is... the only question is, will I still be using it after the magic wears off.

I loved seeing longer footage than in other videos. I really got immersed even watching this, and then you cut to the outside camera, and it's just a guy flailing his hands around at the empty table like a crazy person. 😂
Also, for me, too, it felt natural to tap on things. They even implemented that with the virtual keyboard, didn't they. It would be interesting to see if they add more finger tapping in the later models/os versions. Though I guess it would be hard poking your huge finger at something small sitting across the room, so they went with the pinch gesture.

I think much like the original iPhone, this device is about introducing users to a new experience. As usual Apple has already created a smooth user experience and now needs to teach the market how it works and what it’s for. That will be done through influencers, early adopters, developers and endless tech videos. Give it about 3 years and the entire market for AR/VR will be chasing the Visions Pro’s ease of use etc. Literally iPhone all over again.

Well that was an interesting video! Almost like I was unboxing my own device for the first time. Thanks for sharing your experience with everyone. The Persona is a bit creepy, since it seems to lack full facial expressions. Until there are AR apps that actually take advantage of the capability of the device, it seems a lot like using a floating iPad with your eyes. A great application would be the ability experience an immersive video on UA-cam just like you were there (as opposed to watching it on a virtual screen).

@@scupking Apple has been working on this thing for at least 8 years, you don’t think they thought of that? You don’t fluke your way to being a 3 trillion dollar company. Come WWDC I’m sure this thing is going to get of updates. Compatible apps are going to grow. Native apps are going to find find increasingly cool and unique use cases. Apple aren’t Google, they aren’t going to abandon this thing after two years even if it does underperform. Second, people said the exact same thing about the original iPhone. “Yeah, multi touch is cool, but once the novelty wears off people are going to realise they have an overpriced phone with bad battery life and 2G data.” And that’s going to go down as one of the worst takes about any product ever

Just with initial looks at the Apple Vision Pro it just might become my daily driver a few years down the road when I replace my Apple M1 MacBook Air. I am impressed.
Please keep on top of third party solutions for this environment. The thing I'm looking for is a cap type solution that would allow you to attach the battery on the back to counterbalance the weight of the headset. Then a KISS solution third party battery pack plugged into the Apple Vision Pro Battery Pack USB C port for extended play time.
Now for the weight. When I first started as an Little League Baseball / Softball umpire many, many years ago my face masks weight was more than the Apple Vision Pro and hung off the front of my head. Now I got use to it. These days of course they make ultralight face masks. So I am looking for third party solutions to replace the Apple head gear to better balance the weight on my head.
I was on the cutting edge in 1984 with the purchase of the Apple Macintosh. Not going to be with the Apple Vision Pro.

The video playback that you were doing didn't get bigger because of how small the space you are in. So it has to get closer to you to appear larger. Even on the moon - it doesn't want you to go from immersion and then spin the ground and have objects in your room be occluded.

Apple's had all these years to come up with something that addresses the shortcomings yet they release a product that's showing the same downsides the other headsets have (bulky, heavy, field of view not large enough etcetera). This isn't different from other headsets it's just better because it uses more expensive components. Besides that I don't see anything new and certainly not revolutionary.

im really curious about the watching movies capability from this headset.
    1. Can you like give an approximate like, if you max out the screen size watching a movie, how many inches would be?
    2. Ik you said that the Vision Pro would be better than any TV pretty much. U still stand that opinion, like against an actual Oled 4k TV for watching 4k movies (Streaming)?

If you could live feed drone footage to it that would be sooooo awesome!

Honestly, i think this video was one of your top 10 videos posted! I really, really enjoyed it....and it was so cosy to see your beautiful mum....she seemed so nice ❤
My question about VP is; i have some major problems keeping my arms up for a period of time (muscular related)...do you need to keep them up to gesture, point and so on...or can you support your albows on a table while using them?
Sorry for my bad, bad english...i´m from northern Europe, but i hope you understood what i ment...i did my very best, so it won´t be any better than this 😉😂

This is sick. Apple could make it better by making it not look as goofy, maybe less bulky, but that’s a big change. Then maybe people would drop the 3000 dollars or whatever it costs lmao but yeah I hope this catches on

Think the March event or the WWDC keynote will be live on Vision Pro like being on the moon?
I am not buying one yet.

"Never experienced before". I'm genuinely curious, I know you said you didn't like Oculus, but did you try maybe the latest they have to offer?
It has multiple windows (you can have up to 5 virtual displays in Immersed), it has theaters, it has hand tracking /input.
No, it's not as polished and high end. But its honestly great and it works. For less than a fraction of the price. Maybe you're thinking of the original Oculus Rift or the Quest 2? Because the Quest Pro and Quest 3 are definitely a step above from those.

Vision Pro is clearly a v1 product with v1 limitations, but it's actually pretty remarkable how polished it is from day 1. The ecosystem Apple has built up since the introduction of the iPhone has allowed them to hit the ground running more and more with each new product category.

It’s good but not what it was claimed to be by Apple it’s still just a better version of a VR headset it’s not in any shape or form AR yet. I think that will come with further future enhancements development and software improvements.
