Always enjoyable to see your tricks on taking apart stubborn fixtures and rebuilding them. Just replaced a Delta kiy faucet on Sunday that a "retired" (grouchy) plumber twisted the tubes on a few years back...it was a leaker! no more drips Mama!
Great video! Thanks for tip. My original 25 year old faucet came loose after 5 minutes of GENTLE tapping. DO NOT strike it hard. I struck the chrome ring/dome several times, all around it, then took a large pipe wrench/hammer to it. BINGO! It worked. Thank you for taking the time and posting your videos.
Thanks for the tip, I would have snapped the copper tubes if not for you. Had the same problem with water flowing out of the spout when it was off. Fixed that. It is dripping around the packing nut now. It may have been doing it before the repair. Tried every combination of parts. Ended up reusing the longer springs, used the longer seals, cranked on the packing nut, and I am still getting a drip past the packing nut.

" I wouldn't vote for that bitch" Now I feel ya Steve, you're all right; and I really like your vids. I'm automotive by trade but I can relate to yours.
I was ready to tackle this today, have everything I need but cant get the very first step..the handle will not come off, the sc rew inside is very corroded, it wont budge. Can you help?
I had plumbers out for free estimates, way too high, but they did say that the screw has to be drilled out. I have a rotary tool, fee like rotary-ing everything. I have given up for now, I'm going to let it drip.
I was being facetious, saw the whole pipe off with sawsall, great advice, guaranteed to get a plumber out immediately after you do so!...this guy does not reply to anyone!
dont make fun of trying to get get more use out of 45 year old gasgets, and i wont eschew your use of a 50 year old rod. if this is the wrong forum for that comment, you better pick me at eight and dont be late.
You shore thats the cold?...Whos the plumber here?...Lets not replace the whole assembly, just the seats and springs. Why do it right the first time? See, these are all the parts I should have changed the first time. Now, I have to shut the water off AGAIN. I think the homeowner was better off with the apprentice kid. This HANDYMAN doesnt know what the fuck hes doing. A half hour for a single handle Delta shower faucet repair. Sad part is, somebody gave this HANDYMAN a PLUMBERS license. Unbelievable. People, this is how to NOT repair your shower.
SICK OF IT ALL NOTTHEBAND I had a handyman Take 3 hours on a escutcheon, there was a stripped screw I already had a new escutcheon All they had to do was change it out The next day I noticed a leak after a shower It took at least 10 mins for it to stop I had to push the knob hard To get it to turn off I fixed it the next day How come he didn’t change the whole escutcheon out
I am a NOVICE and I replied this myself. I am a 63 year old female. I used 3&1 oil to loosen up that CROWN. It had been on for 20 years. It will leak again. Not impressed with Delta parts!

I've heard "that's as good as it's gonna get" before. Use only genuine Delta parts but won't tell us what they are. GEEZ!
Someone to talk to in the morning you know... You talk to them?
I used map on it. Ya know, just to heat it up

Ronny boy sounds like he's got marbles in his mouth. He was afraid to admit he voted for Killary! I'd be embarrassed too.
Classic Delta bullshit
