Arriving in railton reminds me the driverless runaway that was derailed in devonport about 5 years ago. Didnt hear too much about that. It was definitely hushed up. Two friends of mine witnessed the ending while fishing in the river.
Its been awhile since I have last saw you and Putty Cat. I have been doing good went on cruise last March,24 which I enjoyed a lot, other than that I am fine.
Most people wouldn't realise that this is Tasmania only major rail line with only massive triple locos hauling containers from the port of Burnie to Brighton near Hobart😅
@@geoffb108 they also have a line to bell bay as well as the less used lines to Fingal and down the west coast. A lot of people don't realise Tasmania has trains. 🤔👍😀
Yes I know I live in Ulverstone. My wife tells me her father worked on the EBR he became a paraplegic after a rail accident. When she was 4 or 5 the train drivers would stop at their railway house and take her on the train into mt Lyle to help mother with the childrens care. She has many fond memories of these kind caring railway men looking after her. They shared their huge sandwiches and made a bed in the guards van . It was a long trip and they would carry her back to the house . This couldn't happen now. The railway men were a tight group and cared for each other. She often remembers those kind gentle lovely men. Riding in the steam engine through the forest and over the trestle bridges is something she will always remember.
There are no passenger trains on the state railway system in Tasmania. The passenger trains finished around 1978 in Tasmania. I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed the video 👍😀
Thank you. Great video.
