She should’ve checked him the first time he spoke to her in that manner. Setting boundaries is so important. Once you allow someone to get away with certain behaviors they will continue it.

The Ann/Tom thing is tricky. Tom is volatile. If Ann had told him about her interview with Arianna, Tom might have fired her immediately. I wouldn't have told him. Nobody in the real world tells their current employer they're looking for a new job for fear of the possible repercussions. Tom proved that point beautifully.
In Tom's defense Ann was on the clock. She should have done that on her own time. JMO

Ann was a complete opportunist and Ariana realized that she was thirsty to be on TV and exploited it to annoy Tom. The whole trying to poach his assistant and then giving her a job at the sandwich shop is super calculated. This is one of the many examples of why I don't believe that Ariana didnt know Tom was cheating with Raquel.

Honestly no one tells their boss they’re looking for another job. They turn in their 2 weeks notice AFTER they find a new job. Also Ariana didn’t approach Ann for a job. Ann told her she wanted to work for Ariana.

You should never let an employer know that you are interviewing for other jobs. Who does that? That’s none of their business. What if you don’t get the other job? Then you’re still at your old job that your employer now knows you don’t really want and will probably treat you as such. You tell your current employer you have another job (if you want to) when you turning in your notice after you have the other job locked down.

Regarding Ann, I have strong feelings about the way she was treated by Tom! She was put in a very awkward position and then Tom didn't have the maturity or ethical decency to talk to her about her job and that he was replacing her. She really was taken advantage of. Personally, I would have been looking for another job, too.

Being an assistant is not mediating the breakdown of a relationship, so if Ann wanted to work for Arianna while working for Tom, there is literally NOTHING wrong with that. Anne did not have to inform Tom she was interviewing for another position. Since Tom found out, if he no longer felt he wanted Anne to work for him, he should have fired her, or asked for her resignation. Tom is non confrontational so he tried to ghost Anne. Tom is in the wrong in this situation.
A lot of ppl forget you don’t owe your current employer any notice about interviewing for other jobs or sending out your resume. The only thing you owe your employer is the agreed upon “notice of resignation” and if you never signed a contract of employment it’s whatever mandated by your local municipality labour’s laws.

They only have to provide an ROE if requested in Canada anyway - so by our rules - guess she didn't ask for one. You also aren't eligible for EI if you're fired. Only if laid off.

Anne didn’t have to film. Sorry not sorry. She didn’t have to work around the producers to have her conversation with Arianna filmed. She could have chosen to have that conversation with Arianna in private, somewhere Tom would not listen or potentially be informed of by producers. She knew Tom could potentially listen in and consequently possibly lose her job but she wanted the spotlight. HOWEVER Tom should have 1000% informed her she was fired, it wasn’t cool for him to hang her livelihood on the balance. I don’t trust Anne though. I think she’s fame hungry and continues to look for her 5 minutes through Arianna, Katie and the drama with Scumdoval.
He needed to be responsible & end her employment. Period. She has no responsibility to inform her current employer she is interviewing for a new role, regardless of it being located in the same place. Tom, on the otherhand, shirked his legal responsibilities as an employer to formally end her contract.

Ann seems sweet and I do not like Tom, but I would have gotten rid of her too. What she did was unprofessional on many levels. Also, she signed an NDA and she has not shut up about her work with Tom. That will kill her chances of working as anyone's personal assistant. When working in someone's home many people want you to sign an NDA and want the comfort of knowing their privacy is respected. I do not think that Ann gave much thought to what she did.
