Exciting. It will be nice to go back to what this show used to be (working at SUR). Instead of watching late 30's try so hard to keep their reality TV job.
Yes, VPR was originally popular for young , beautiful people in their 20s navigating L.A. working at a bar while chasing their dreams on the side. With all the messiness of their love lives. The cast have aged out and should move on to “The Valley” if they want to showcase 30/40 year olds navigating marriage.
There is no way that Tom would have given Erika (a trophy wife that was 20ish yrs her sr.) access to his law practice finances. Hell the lawyers in the firm didnt know about the embezzlement and it appears to have been going on for years. I believe it plausable that Erica would have zero visibility of Tom's business personal accounts even. Thats not how it works when u marry a rich older man. Erica 100% could have shown more empathy to the victims, her husband did many terrible things however she was a victim as well, not in the same way of course and she benefited financially by his actions. Still dont see any way she could have known. She was married to a man that was not the person he pretended to be and did many disgusting and disgraceful things, thats a whole other kind of betrayal.
There are women out there whose husbands tell them not to worry about where the money comes from. Definitely an old man as he is, thats the way it was back in the day.

I remember on an episode years before this issue came to life that Tom handled all of their money including the money she made. This is pretty normal for the “kept women” I know.
Many women have no clue where the money comes and goes. Considering Tom always made himself to be more well off than reality, not surprised she would believe him. You don't have to ne rich to trust your spouse is being truthful

I can totally see how Erica would not have known the source of the money Tom funneled into her business & overall career. Her husband is a successful wealthy attorney and he gives her money, period. That’s what she knew. Did she know from where it came? That is was stolen from the firm’s clients? I doubt it. She didn’t have anything to do with the law firm or its finances. I believe her attorneys will make a case for her being oblivious to the fact that the money was ill-gotten and swindled from his clients who became, sadly, victims twice over.

There is room for a new cast and a new show for the old cast. If Bravo wanted to there could be a new show LIFE AFTER VPR. The cast is no longer working at the restaurant and to me that would make perfect sense. Katie and Ariana have Something About Her as well as Ariana doing all these other things, the Toms have their place, James has his DJ gigs which have gotten big. Showing what their lives are like and their ventures could be good tv. If you stop forcing the old cast to get together all the time this could be interesting. Not sure where Lala and Sheana would fit in and personally, I do not really care. The others have moved on and seeing them evolve could be better tv than trying to get them act like they are a happy group of friends when they are not. Lala and Scheana were really the only ones trying to keep things the same. This is called growing up people.
As far as the Tom's and K&A, they could make a very interesting show. And Idk, The Valley may not be for Lala and Scheana, but like you said..fodder for podcasts! I'll probably get clobbered for this but I like the way Stassi has matured and moved on. A husband, two children and a full life. We see lil snippets but that's all. I can’t see how they will ever recreate the magic of early days VPR. That was genuine, organic and never manipulated or over produced. I did not enjoy Vanderpump Villa for this very reason. I started watching VPR when I was in my 20's working at a restaurant, and now I'm married with two kids, living in the burbs! I kind of feel like I grew up with the cast. I like them all, except Brittany and Rocky/Rachel/Raquel.

What Erika has failed to grasp for years is it really doesn’t matter if she knew this was going on, legally it matters but from a public standpoint it doesn’t. If your entire career was built on stolen money you should feel bad about that, you should want to help people get that money back, she has never ever understood this. Most of these “Hollywood wives” are clueless about their husband’s finances and they don’t want to know either. Most are paid to be dressed up dolls. They have nannie, housekeepers, drivers, luxury houses and cars and go on extravagant trips. They have no touch with reality and complain about not getting in their yoga time to pick up their kids if the nanny gets sick. At least Erika had a career whether it was funded by him or not. Most of these “Hollywood wives” are clueless about their husband’s finances and they don’t want to know either. Most are paid to be dressed up dolls. They have nannie, housekeepers, drivers, luxury houses and cars and go on extravagant trips. They have no touch with reality and complain about not getting in their yoga time to pick up their kids if the nanny gets sick. At least Erika had a career whether it was funded by him or not. She did put on great shows and worked hard. Right now she’s doing it on her own and the other housewives will get a Hefty alimony check. I believe Erika didn’t know or care to know. Her husband is guilty. You saw the way he talked about her and to her on the show. He was a narcissist control freak like most lawyers are ( myself being one too). He liked keeping her in the dark to show how smart he was. These Hollywood housewives better smarten up and learn about their husband’s businesses. The more you know the more you get in a divorce.
