  • Welcome back to the penultimate video in our series on helping students adopt an anti-boring approach to their learning journey this school year! Throughout this series, we've delved into various characteristics that define an anti-boring student and educator.
In this video, we focus on the importance of incorporating meta breaks to assess our own learning. The "Do Notice Loop" involves doing an action (like practicing note-taking) and then pausing to notice and reflect on the experience. It's a crucial step in developing curiosity and enhancing learning.
The second vital characteristic we explore today is celebrating experimentation, mistake-making, and playfulness in the learning process. Education often unintentionally nurtures perfectionism, causing stress and hindering progress. Embracing experimentation and allowing ourselves to make mistakes without fear of judgment is a powerful antidote to this toxic cycle.
Your thoughts and reflections on these concepts are invaluable! Take a meta break right now and share your insights in the comments below. What have you learned from this video, and how will you apply it to your learning journey?
Stay tuned for the final video in this series, and until then, keep experimenting, keep learning, and keep growing!

I learned that I can pause and reflect not only on what I've learned during a study session, but also HOW I learned it.

I definitely need to build my intergenerational collaborative skill. Maybe there are some resources or books on this? 🤔

I think you should just prove that you can do it for yourself instead of others. If you prove it to yourself others will see regardless. I’m talking about being successful in college if you are a new college student or returning to school! Also to touch on your perfect topic and how that effects a lot of students now a days or has been. What’s the right way to approach something you know you have no experience in and will probably end up failing in? I will look that up myself.
