That fish looks mighty familiar! 🤔 😅 Jay, it was great meeting you on the river the other day. Appreciate the fishing tips as usual, keep up the good work my friend!
@@JayPeckGuidesLostRiversFishing just got one for Christmas. How do you like it and how does it cast with a single hand over head? First switch rod and hard to find info out there on s itch rods other than someone Spey casting and using skagit or scandi line.
If you are not going to shoot line and fish 30-40ft vicinity on the swing, why do you need a 10'6" rod? A 7ft 4wt single hander with a lighter skagit head can still do the same thing. Trees or side cast wouldn't be a problem at all. Also, I would suggest going longer on that polyleader.
And this particular piece of water, You still need to side cast to get the fly back under the trees. I could go with a shorter letter Rod, But I like the versatility of this particular rod.
Salmon River trip cancelled due to storm. Thanks Jay for the video, it will have to suffice until the next opportunity.
Winter storms, Definitely One of the challenges to Winter steelhead fishing
