i've been a tool fan since '98. been to like 10 shows, big and small. listened to every album a ton... you know the drill. Watching these songs with him has brought me to a whole new level of appreciation for the band. Especially regarding the sonic masterpiece that is their music. Hearing the depth of the sonic landscapes that I'd never noticed before. The production value of these records are unbelievable. I connect with the songs now in ways I never could prior. This shit is therapy, yo.

Lateralus originally didn't have this track, but the label wanted a 'harder' song to try and market as a single. They went back and recorded this. "Hope this is what you wanted/cause this is what you're getting". Also no radio station is going to play a song with that long melodic middle section.
From what I heard, the record label didnt like the fact that they didnt have many heavy tracks on this album, so they made them make a heavy track. Tool being tool, they made one firing back at them. Love this track, cant wait for the new album! Great job man!
Joshua Griffin Haha, and doesn't it always go, "I only like the early stuff?" It's pretty common for Tool fans to give 10,000 Days a lot of shit, but it's grown on me. I also wasn't as blown away as I thought I'd be when it came out, but I actually like it more now than I did...a bit strange. I think the next one is going to be another Masterpiece though.

Preston my friend none of tool is happy. Thats just the fact of the matter, the music is dark the lyrics darker. But the thing about Tool is they are teachers and inspire us to change and not be afraid of what we dont know. This song has been one of my favs since i was a child and even as an adult anytime im about to drop acid those lyrics “Hope this is what you wanted, hope this is what you had in mind. Cuz this is what your getting!” Play through my head. But not only during that time its just more profound right before the acid drop but during any time you decide to change or do something different you must ask yourself that question is it really what you want. I think if alot of us as humans did that we could cut out a lot of crime and wastefulness that we exude being a parasitic life form on this earth. But thats just my takeaway from the song. Hey man. Just watched this. Ticks and Leeches is in my top three Tool songs. The drums in the intro are sick, and then that softer interlude in the middle and coming back with the killer drums, strong guitars and vocals at the end. It's up there with "Aenema" as a top song in my view. Enjoyed your review.

Hey man. Just watched this. Ticks and Leeches is in my top three Tool songs. The drums in the intro are sick, and then that softer interlude in the middle and coming back with the killer drums, strong guitars and vocals at the end. It's up there with "Aenema" as a top song in my view. Enjoyed your review.
