when i first got my canary, i let him get a free flight directly in my room like i am used to with my other canary birds, i feel like that built up a little more trust wich makes him easier to train
@@SweetBrownGirl probably not a big deal. I have three that we keep caged for the most part. Their poops don’t smell and are only small. Cleaning their mess isn’t a big job as long as you keep on top of it.
Idk if u know how to train a canary dude heres what u do let it get a bit hungry and give it treats for dinner and do this a bit and then give it normal food
Keeping birds in a round cage constitutes animal cruelty. Birds need corners, and at least the back of the cage, better: two cage walls, covered. The cage also needs more than one perch so that the bird can move around.
That doesn't make it better. What would you say if I put you in a cell where people could watch you from all sides, even if it was "only" for sleeping? I don't think you'd be very pleased. Now consider that canaries are flight animals to boot, and also lack human capabilities of reasoning...
Like you said birds don't have the same ability to reason as humans. They don't care if the cage is round, they are adaptive animals and will eventually get used to it, but we don't feel that way because our self-consciousness is telling us we are keeping an animal, that has the entire sky to fly, imprisoned for our own amusement and therefore feel the need to compensate. That said, no one is going to argume if you provide them a lot of commodities. But if the bird is comfortable in their round cage then who are we to argue?
i had canaries since i was 4 i have lots of information about them but for some reason they wont get tamed they even reply to my whistle but when i go near them they flutter i also let them come out their cage to get used to the enviroment but still they are super scared of me
But if i have canary’s that has been in the same cage for a month or two, Can I still take them apart and tame them one at a time? Cuz im scared to make them sad....
I tame my birds who are not carany. I think in english they are called by australian parakeet. They are hard to tame like carany so I can tell you some advices: 1) If they are in the same cage, the process you be very hard if one of them have very very fear of you but in other hand if one of them trust you the other one you be more easier to tame; 2) If both are scared of you, I recommend you to be very carefuly in you treatment with the cage and movement. They need to recgonize you are not a predator and see you are a friend of they. 3) To they can feel you like a friend and not a predator I recommend you to not show your hand to they because our hand are a tool who kill in nature so the approach needs to be with hand out of their vision.
Yes, firstly canary must know that he is master of fingers and control situatio. It is hard to achieve, because some canaries are afraid of ✋ and see it certainly as whole
This is completely anecdotal, but I got one 5 days ago. I let him get used to his perches, food, and water, so he's comfortable in there. They should get exercise outside the cage, so I let him out a few times after "bird-proofing" the room: ceiling fan off, windows closed. He eventually returned to his cage on his own; I guess he likes it in there. Now I can't get him out.
Hello there. So I started out allowing my canaries (2 of them) to fly around the house freely as soon as i brought them home-it's been about 4 Months now. I feel by now they should already be at ease with me around them but no! no! Instead they're so quick to fly to another location like, I'm the devil! So right now I'm thinking of putting them back into the cage with the hope that they get to know me well enough to accept treats from me. Now my question is; do you think I should go ahead and put them back into the cage or should I just allow them to continue flying freely ( this way, will they be comfortable with me and accept treats from me)? Looking forward to a pretty quick response. Regards.
