Eddie's suddenly realizing "Fuck, Tom would've crippled me."
Leg kicks are evil, even to a fully trained fighter. I'm kinda amazed that only a couple of people in MMA ever made full use of them and they dropped off a whole lot in modern MMA. Take a guys legs and movement is gone, support against takedowns is gone and shooting for takedowns is a lot harder.
@@rebel4466well i think thats partially because people learned to deal with low kicks and if your kick gets cut you risk breaking your shin and then you are out for a year
@@maggoteater2290The reason many don't overdo it on a professional level is because they're usually up against opponents that know how to check a good leg kick. And checking a good leg kick on the right spot can be as damaging to the kicker as recieving an accurate leg kick unchecked by a kicker.
@@rebel4466Gaethje stil loves a leg kick

Lotta people don’t realize just how painful leg kicks are. Need more men like Eddie
Yup. Not to mention you need your legs to do pretty much every single other move. So take out or hurt the opponents leg and their entire offensive power drops even if they aren't kickers themselves.
Any way to counter it,other than dodging???
@@Password20-ro6ut You can tense up the muscle and brace for the impact. It'll still hurt but not nearly as much.
@@Password20-ro6utyou need to raise your front leg and put your weight more on it and block the opponents kick as early as you can because an kicks full force comes when he gets to extend the leg and get his hips in to the kick which the kid in the video also does so stopping that momentum early lessens the damege it will probably hurt but it's better than just taking it because if you just take it your knee can break when it goes torward the inside of your body because you can't handle the kick. Also if you raise your leg you won't have that problem because even if you can't take the force, your body rotates along with the kick so you won't break your knee as easily. If you manage to block the kick then put your leg on the ground and punch him in the face he most likely hasn't regained his balance i you do it fast. Kicks are relly dangerous in fights because even people who haven't been trained can do it really hard and if you don't know how to take it you can break your knee also kicks are usually used to target big muscles like thighs and calfs that also hinder the fighting ability of the opponent
kicks to that inner thigh like muay thai style fuckin hurt the most

As a life time all around nice guy, I can confirm. I can't tell you how many fights I've gotten out of just by being willing to deescalate. My experience is, the vart majority of tossers don't actually want to fight, and will take any excuse to walk away with their pride intact. And for the remaining 0.1%, there's always quick maximum violence.

I love how Tom locked eyes with Eddie when he said “I will hurt you”
I feel like he knew he had to be serious for a second just to clarify that he would in fact do a lot of damage to him, and I appreciate that Eddie didn’t have an ego, and insist.
I imagine a lot of strongmen or bodybuilders would let their ego take over and fancy their chances against most blokes, especially when told something like that.. but I think Eddie knew full well that he’s in Toms backyard here and respected that.
