The drama! The intrigue! I love the cute little noise she makes that sounds a bit like purring.
Or like when you pin a trading card to your bicycle wheel XD
I didn't know toucans purr...Zeema sounded just like a cat! It was fun to watch her investigate each toy, and interesting to see her reactions, especially with your explanations, Jessie. I won't get to see Zeema in person, so this was the next best thing to being at a live presentation...thank you!🥰🥰
Zima: the most adorable fluff of feathers the world has ever seen
Also Zima: murder _everything_
It was so nice of Zeema to give you a present at the end.
Always good to share! lol
I was also surprised to hear Zeema's "purring". Is that a happy contented sound?
It can be! In this context it was. Sometimes it can also mean I'm going to bite you, but the body postures are different.
I love how she had to add insult to injury when the toucan toy was super dead 😂
understanding Zeema's behaviour is interesting because her eyes are so far on the sides of her face. It looks to me like she's turning away from something, but actually she's turning her eye /towards/ it so she can look at it better.
There's something so special about taking care of disabled animals♥️ I currently have a rat who was born without any eyes at all and he is my best lil buddy. He licks EVERYTHING like he's using his tongue as his eyes lol
Bless you!!
What a cutie! What's his name?
I’ve known several blind rats, both rats born without one or both eyes, or rats that are blind due to cataracts. They adapt very well to it in the main, since ratties don’t use their eyes that much in general.
@@flowerheit4512 Georgie!!
@@catzkeet4860 Yep he has no problems at all navigating a 3 story cage or interacting with his brothers. He's a little clumsy sometimes but tbh i think he would be even with eyesight lol. The only difference there is when interacting with him is that I make more noises like snaps or scratches to get his attention
Zeema with the stuffie: "Why. Won't. It. Leave?!"
I love that purring sort of sound. I had no idea that toucans made that noise.
I also really like that you addressed how eliciting a territorial response isn't totally a bad thing. As far as Zeema is concerned, she successfully defended her territory from both intruding toucans. Maybe it gave her a little confidence boost.
Kinda reminds me of bearded dragons winning the head bobbing contest 😂
Zeema's happy little chattering purr is just divine! 💛
We had a sun conure that would attack the stuffed parrot talking toy. I caught it on a short video where the sun conure attacked the toy while the toy said, “I love you!” I titled the video “Turning the Other Beak”.
Does Zima like bells? Our parakeet Chippy and sun conure did.
Her poor little leg! She's a little nut lol. "Don't mock me with this fake me! I keel it!" Lol.
I love toucans. Zeema is certainly a cutie.
I think that Zeema having the territorial response was fine because you removed the offending toucan. It would be different had you left it there which would have unnecessarily stressed her out but this way she can think that she scared off the intruder just like she intended and it gave her something new! Yes it was stressful, but new things often are. The main thing is that it wasn’t a sustained stressor. I also wondered Jessi, if you’d seen the information that Jamie from Birdtricks recently posted regarding the passing of Rocco, her toucan, and the dietary implications. I dont think Zeema is the same type of toucan as Rocco, but we’d all hate to see anything happen to her.
Lucy says thanks for this awesome video!! She was so surprised when we were watching and her Toucan that she painted showed up!! We bulk watch the videos every week or two. This was great!!
Any toy can be a toucan toy if you believe in yourself.
Does she need a bigger mat to cover the bottom of her cage fully cause I see that under one side of the perches there’s only floor.
We have mats to cover the whole floor, they were just soaking a little longer to get all the poo off and Zeema was ready to get back out to play. So, I stopped cleaning for a bit and made the video with her before putting all the mats back in.
It’s funny to see Zeema giving that last toy some LITERAL side eye, what with her eyes being on the sides of her head 😄
I loved seeing her clover bath on Instagram, and all of the awesome interaction here. You do such amazing work and all with such infectious enthusiasm. Thank you!
Zeema’s a Toucan, not a Toucan’t! 😎
Who needs a guard dog? Just rig any intruder entrance so they get a toucan mask stuck n their head!
Zeema, Warrior Princess
What a darling Birdy ❤️😀
TIL that toucans purr.
The stuffed toucan and the wooden one were so funny .
So happy to see a new Animal Wonders Montana video!
Is Zeema's little purr sound from her syrinx or is she rattling the beak in some way? It's so cute
6:18 was that poop from the blueberries that you just fed it? Or was it from an earlier meal? If it's from the food that you just fed, their digestion seems very fast!
Nah, I bet it was the previous meal; birds are built to fly so keeping two meals in the stomach at once is a waste of cargo capacity
Adorable!!!! Toys for all the Toucans! ^.^
Toucans are like flying fruits. 😂
hi love your vids
og that so cute im howing this to someon and share this
love the way she "purrs"
We are all expanding our conciousness even that beautiful bird . 🤗🤗🤗
All birbs = murder. As a birb owner I can confirm that murder is a birbs first instinct. Usually it is adorable murder, sometime it is just murder.
Its so funny. She PURRS when she is getting groomed just like cat being petted
Fascinating! Thank you!
Could you guys add more videos to EPIC? I use it in school and have watched all your guy’s videos and I wanna see some new ones. If you could add some more I would really be happy keep up the good work!
What is EPIC?
Aww zima’s just got a frog butt like a crestie gecko!
Zema is my favorite animal at animal wonders, and Zema killed that toucan toy.
isinya sangat bagus dan menarik, saya sangat menyukainya
This toucan would be an excellent software engineer.
Its always fun having u come to Potomac school!
Please do more videos on the chinchillas :))
Some animals are color blind but do birds see color?
Aw made my night ❤️❤️❤️ she’s so sassy 🤣
I really hope that Zema will go on and have a happy healthy life
Loved video she is beautiful
Zeema running at 15 fps
I love how territorial Toucans are & that humans think a real animal would not be freaked out by a stuffed version of itself.
Zema is so beautiful 😍
How, HOW IS SHE PURRING?
What is the glass pan for?
Very pretty indeed
So beautiful
I love your video 😏😃
😂 @ Zema’s fighting spirit - what hoot, I watched that a few times 💖.
I saw the toucan stuffed animal in the corner and thought it was Zemma 😂
Zima sorry
love to so much
nice
I’m so excited!!! Another Zeema
Video!!!!!
I was just gonna ask for a Zeema update! ❤️
Zeema is my favorite! Glad to see she is doing well.
She is so pretty, though that big beak is a little scary!
She’s so cute and interesting to watch!
Her most beloved toy: the food.
4:22 Does that count as training her to be aggressive like training a pit-bull for dog-fighting? 🤔 Jessie said they naturally react to territorial-disputes, but this isn't the wild, and I've seen other channels with multiple pet toucans cohabitating in a home. I'm not sure about the thing about triggering the occasional reaction because it's natural; does that mean people who's birds get along are doing a bad thing? Would that apply to other kinds of pets? 🤔 Does Zeema get any interaction with other animals?
Many animals "play fight" eachother so the first toy could just be that for Zeema? As with the second toy, that one she was more negatively territorial about and Jessie explained more about that near the end. :)
So many animals are territorial and animals often need species specific protocol for introductions/cohabitation.
Thinking about if you were surprised by an unknown stranger inside your house without warning, you would probably react instinctively, fight or flight mode kicking in compared to if that same person knocked, introduced themselves to you, and maybe explained why they were there (like a repair person or something).
Well, in this case, Jessie had no idea how the toucan would react to a flat, painted toucan (as opposed to the more "life-like" 3D stuffed animal). Z could have just been curious about it or ignored it. J immediately removed the offending toy. I know nothing about toucan behavior, but if some toucans get alone living together, and don't exhibit stress behaviors, then what's the problem? It's like when they introduce new live animals to an enclosure. Sometimes animals get along. Sometimes they don't. It's all trial and error. Wild animals have personalities, just as humans or our pets do. Some are more aggressive than others. Some are timid. Some like human interaction while others want to be left alone. Age, health, the amount of space they have, etc. can all be factors in behavior.
WTF are you even talking about saying, "training her to be aggressive" and comparing it with the abuse of dogs? Z wasn't being "TRAINED" at all! She was introduced to something new. She had a hostile reaction to it and it was immediately removed. How you equate that with abusing dogs by making them fight each other for human entertainment is beyond me.
