Toyota Corolla Alternator Replacement

In this video, I replaced alternator on 2017 Toyota Corolla. The procedure should be identical to 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 models. I think in newer and older Corollas the location of alternator is in the same spot.

I would be interested in what went wrong inside. But the problem seems to be that the alternator is some weird Valeo made in mexico brand when it should be DENSO made in japan. This is bad news, toyota is using some cheap stuff for critical parts. But 100 000 miles is pretty good endurance from that brand. Good video by the way

Good point. I was also suprised that instead of Denso it was some brand I never heard of before. I was also shocked that alternator failed so early when Corollas supposed to be very reliable vehicles.

My understanding is it will work. I think 120A will just charge battery faster and will rely on battery less.

For used Denso. For new probably any brand at auto parts store that offers lifetime warranty

Try tightening the belt. If not then either belt is bad or the alternator is faulty

The mechanic shop wanted to charge $ $700
Advance Auto was $400 for the alternator
eBay I paid $45 .

That's crazy. When it happened, driver wanted a good guaranteed replacement, but for $400 from from auto parts store vs under $50 for used one, used one was a no brainer. It still works great. Thanks for watching!
