Correction: I referred to Father Crowley as Father John C. Crowley. I should have said Father John J. Crowley.
Why you haven't got more sub's and views is a mystery. Like your content watching from Australia 🦘🇭🇲 .
I wish I knew the answer to that one myself! Thanks for the kind comments and support!
I love Death Valley. Been there many times but never on a bike. My great uncle was a bartender in Rhyolite during the heyday. He and the prostitutes from the bar/brothel would sleep in the abandoned mine shafts during the day to escape the high temperatures. Thanks for this video!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching. This one was one of the most time consuming and tedious videos I've ever made since I had to freeze frame every video clip recorded inside Death Valley.
I've been to Rhyolite several times and some of the pictures I included in the video are from those earlier trips. It's amazing that town only lasted 12 years. I mean, they built a train station!
I wanted to do Death Valley, but I just ran out of time. Enjoyed the video, Curt, beautiful scenery and maybe I learned something. Visit in the Spring or Fall not dead of Summer. RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!
I love Death Valley. So much history and great views, too. This was my 4th time there. Thanks for watching!
Rhyolite is so cool. I can't wait to go back now that I'm making videos. Have you ever been to Darwin, Ca? Or the Reward Mine? Those are my favorite two places when visiting Death Valley.
I don't think it's illegal to film from a gopro mounted to your helmet. I thought the National Park Service said you just can't be using Props or Equipment like drones. Anything that is hand held it fine and no big groups or models. Wait are you a model? Great video Thanks for kinda taking us along! LOL. Good job improvising and I could go for a steak sandwich right now. If you ever in the Elko Area keep in mind the best Steak sandwich in the country is at the Star Basque Restaurant in Elko, Nv.
Any video posted on social media is considered commercial. GoPro or high end. And they want a permit for commercial use. That's why I did like 250 hold frames in this video to work around that. And that was A LOT OF FREAKING WORK! BTW, you can't cross dissolve on a hold frame in FCP. It reverts to motion.
You'll only get fined if someone reports you, but the fine is minimum 4 figures. I can't risk that. The EXPLORE Act will change that, though. It still requires permits in some situations and for more than 5 ppl, but for most folks like you and I, it would allow us to ride around and take video off our bikes as well without requiring a permit as long as we're in normally accessible areas and not impeding the enjoyment of other visitors (any more than other visitors do... sometimes you have to wait at that perfect spot to take your pic cuz someone else is taking THEIR pics).
