The Stealth melee character is even more broken. Take all of the stealth and melee perks mix it with the absolutely broken Party Boy/Girl perk with Atom's Judgement side with Lorenzo for serum and it's like playing on God Mode.
I came back to Fallout 4 after almost 9 years and decided to do a survival mode run. I wish I would have found this video a few days ago when I built my character! 😂 I think this would be my ideal build!
Two bits: 1) Get the Deacon perk before putting any point in Sandman and Ninja, otherwise your sneak attack damage might get bugged and be slightly lower. 2) Two-Shot legendary modifier isn't an effective x2 multiplier, feel free to look it up on the wiki. EDIT: This is a good starter setup, but if you really want to go stealth-archer, you really want the Ace Operator perk from Nuka World as well. Also, full Unyielding armor set as well as a VATS enhanced Gauss Rifle should be the end goal. Cheers! =)
Thanks for sharing your two points. Yeah, 2 shot is not truly 2 shot. In short the first short takes the current damage of the weapon while the 2nd shot takes the damage of the weapon as you found it for the first time. On point 1 I did not know about bugged state. I'll look into it, thanks again for sharing.
This is one of the best videos on Fallout 4 stealth builds I have seen in the past 9 years. Of course that just means it agrees with my experience! The first scoped weapon you get is a pipe weapon in Concord. You should also scope the laser musket. Righteous authority is also a good early choice as it has a common ammo.
Thank you. Yeah, I tried to dive into some early game options and did not want to say 'just get these end game weapons'. I am still trying to find my feet when it comes to build type content.
I would like to add something underreported and uderappreciated by most of the mainstream YT channels. At the Drumlin diner is, usually, a bolt action pipe pistol. So what, right? Wrong. At level 1 you can buy it, and it has a suppressor. Most of the time, any weapons have suppressors level locked at somewhere between 25 to 30 or something. So, what does it mean? It means that you can get a suppressed bolt action sniper rifle as early as level 1.Use it as something of a interm booster weapon to better sniper weapons. Plus, you can actually activate all the usual stealth kill perks rather than wait. Granted, a suppressed bolt action pipe rifle is not everyone's first choice, but consider it as a helpful boost nexttime you play as a stealth sniper. Happy hunting. 👍
You know, I don't think I have ever noticed that before. Thanks so much for sharing. I will check it out today. I go to the Dinner very early on so it would be worth picking up for sure.
Overseer's Guardian does not actually fire 2 full damage shots. The 2-Shot effect functions different to how the name would suggest it does. You would think it fires 2 shots and each shot deals the same damage that is listed on the weapon stat block, but that its not accurate. 2-Shot actually works by adding the unmodded (base) damage + the modded damage of your weapon. Then it divides that total and splits the damage equally between the 2 shots the weapon fires. For this build I would honestly recommend going for a rifle with Penetrating or Mighty effects as they will give you more armor penetration to stack with the 5th rank of rifleman
It's a fair point and worth exploring more. I may look into that a little further to see which weapon actually does more damage. I suppose in VATs at least it would perform.better given that the Two Shoot effects tends to miss alot.
Excellent. Just come back to Fallout 4 after many years break, and going to start from scratch - I can barely remember the game. Going the Stealth route and follow your advice. Subbed and belled. Cheers, Harry.
Thanks Harry. It's a very solid playstyle and it incredibly fun to play also. Playing on higher difficulty also feels really rewarding. Best of luck and welcome back.
I use the Chinese stealth armor from the creation club it was free once and i picked it up it's actually really good for a stealth build cuz it's ballistic weave compatible and it acts as a stealth boy when you crouch and the damage resistance goes up massively on the last rank of the ballistic weave mod blastic damage resistance goes up to 172 and energy goes to 110
Pretty much everything is better gameplay wise imo except the perks are way more straightforward and the story is way too fast and has some plot holes, but I have spent almost 1000 hours playing Fallout 4 on the PS4 and 5 versions combined.

Some tips: 1. Throw all those LUCK stars to CHARISMA. Stealth build doesn't really need LUCK at all. You can add LUCK last when all other important stealth perks have been acquired. No matter what build you are after, Charisma is the most important Stat in F4, because that is the only way to make a lot of money. No matter how stealthy you are, you still need a lot of money to support your adventures. 2. Once you get special companion perks, fired all of them including Dogmeat. Even if you must bring a companion in a mission, have them wait outside. The fastest way to get both of you killed while playing stealthy is your companions suddenly decide to charge ahead, giving away your position. 3. The good point of stealth build is you can kill almost all those powerful enemies, even Deathclaw with 1 shot. However there is 1 type of enemies which are very deadly to stealth build characters, they are the Assaultron. Assaultron is very good at detecting stealth. Its head beam can 1-shot a low Endurance stealth fighter. Even if it missed, it will charge very fast to melee distance and cripple you. Even if you 1-shot it in melee distance, it will explode in your face and take you with it (You can't run away because you are crippled). Always kill Assaultrons first before any other enemies.
All very good point, thanks so much for sharing. Luck can help with critical hits and storing critical hits. True, Charisma does help with getting a lot of caps but you can alternatively build vap farms for that as an alternative. And Assultrons are dangerous for sure. I avoid then until I know I can take them.
I think you should have at least a 5 in Luck (for Idiot Savant). Low Luck and low Intelligence you'll level slowly. I only use the Deliverer, so I only will need Gunslinger along with the Gun Nut perk
I've always associated sniping with critical hits, but it seems that you've put an effort into NOT dealing critical damage. If my calculations are right, this build (the perks you showcased) is at level 42, am I right? At that level, you'll have no real issues kiling most enemies, but that will start changing pretty fast, as you will start encountering stronger enemies. If you don't want to go down the Luck tree for the awesome perks, that are very good for any stealth sniper, then that's your choice, but Better Criticals is a no-brainer in my book. You mention that modifications for the Overseer's Guardian drop as random loot. This is true, and they also have a habit of dropping a few level earlier than the associated Gun Nut perk becomes available. As for the Deliverer, Tinker Tom sells these upgrades! So, I really think that points in Gun Nut is a waste of points. If you were running a more exotic weapon, then the choice would be obvious. The same arguments are true for the Armorer perk. Armor mods drop, and Tinker Tom sells clothing with ballistic weave. A bit more RNG with Tom, though, so that one is more understandable. If you decide that, "Hey, I wanna do crits!", then you should also collect all the issues of Guns & Bullets, as they increase the crit damage. Same thing with the Small Guns bobblehead (found in Gunner's Plaza). The Ace Operator perk in Nuka World is also really good!
No, your right in the sense of missing out on critical hits. This build is more focused on gearing up the attack on sneak attack damage as opposed to critical hits. The best Sneak build will certainly combine both sneak and critical hits as they are amongst the biggest damage modifiers in the game - for a future build guide I may make a critical damage build as a means of exploring that part of the game mechanics.

Hi there, thanks for your comment and lovely speaking to you. I dont have a guide for that but it is something that I can look into. Thanks for the suggestion.
An example of a video that I actually recommend *not* watching. If you do, I recommend *not* following all the advice within verbatim as there are some stat distribution and perk choice decisions that I find questionable at best. No further elaboration on that statement will be made. How one chooses their build is a subjective matter. Opinions are just opinions.
Why struggle until Level 50 when you can get your frozen fingers on the Overseer Guardian from point when you enter Workshop in Sanctuary Hills for the first time? In the process, before you reach Level 20, you'll get a piece of armor with Chameleon Legendary Effect and you can shoot from the spot without being detected. Yeah it can take 2 shots instead of one, but hey, you wanna giggle a little seeing confused enemies searching for you.
That's true and I did really want to do that myself. I sort of actually do but at a slightly later level. Idiot Savant is truly worth taking, even if you have a high int build as when it activates it gives an ocean of XP.
Yeah I did this with Perception once using the Drugged Water from Hallucigen and VANS rank 2 to get a base Perception of 14. I easily had around 20 at all timed with the gear I had, and I hardly ever missed in VATS lol

Ultra-Light is great for boosting AP, but another consideration could be the Muffled option for the legs to help improve sneaking
Muffled does help to go a long way in terms of staying hidden, especially when trying to stay in the shadows during the day.
Gun Fu is also a great addition. Getting extra damage in V.A.T.S. helps a lot.

You're more sneaky not wearing armor. And even more sneaky when toggling off Always Run.
That's right but with the right perks and armor mods you can get away with wearing armor and running while sneaking.
