I think this is common knowledge. You can see many similarities between EAW and SF series. The less known fact is that TK also was a part of the Jane's Longbow team.
Maybe going back in time.- like the late 90s, Today I would say very few. Btw I put in coloured contour lines on M1TP2 with Mike Dubose, definitely not a lot of people know that ;)
I remember playing this game when I was 17. And I remember thinking to myself: "OMG, these graphics are almost photorealistic! This game is almost better than the real thing!" :) Other than that, of course, unfortunately, the game was incomplete. Gameplay couldn't keep up with the graphics.
I remember playing this game through some old game service (like steam in terms of model and such) and I distinctly recall that I didn't know what the heck I was doing. Now I'm revisiting the series with SF2 and, if I can fork over the money, I might purchase the Windows 10 update to Strike Fighters 2 at some point when it's finished. I love these games.
@@ismaelsierra3757 If you're so paranoid, get a VPN. The IP address that ends up in the torrent swarm will not be your native IP, and the devs will have no way of knowing that it's your machine. Also to catch those in torrent swarms, somebody needs to be watching it 24/7 to keep track of everyone who participates. One person isn't going to have the time to do that.
After being with this series from the very beginning and modding my SF2 games to death I was keen to see if I could get it up and running again on my new PC. I did have it running under Win 10 before but had not tried it on my new monitor. A GSynch 3440x1440 running at 100Hz. The trouble with this sim is that there has been an avalanche of updates for both the base sim and all the add on modules and after all this time it was impossible to remember what I’d actually added to to the sim. In the end I bought the all in one download, expensive but I couldn’t prove I’d bought all 5 modules, my TW log on didn’t have North Atlantic as a download, for example. Not sure why, but my email address has changed over the years. Well, installation was a breeze, works perfectly in Win 10 64 bit running at unlimited in the graphics section. I did have to go in and put in 2.370370 in the options I ini files to sort out the stretched appearance of the aircraft. Oh, and the set up screens are stretched. In game play is flawless,running at 100fps in glorious 3440 x1440. Oh yeah, also have an I7 10700 processor and a GTx 3080 😎👍🏻
Damsonn do you know if a Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas One would be compatibile with SFP1? Cause it the joystick I’d like to buy and I’d play it on SFP1 not SF2
damsonn PERFECT!! Another thing damsonn: I’m not that much into throttles and joysticks so I ask you. Is the T.Flight Hotas One ( or also X) a good low budget package? Cause I won’t spend more than 70/80 bucks and I know there are no pedals but I was looking for a package that was good for dogfighting games like SFP1/DCS and similar that is both precise and easy to configure. I got no track ir or else so I wanted to know if it’s ok to dogfight with just this set. Is it well made/durable? Can I assign enough controls to not to use keyboard and mouse but just Hotas One/X? Is the no rudder thingy a problem? And also last question: is rotating in cockpit view with no mouse a problem? Can be easily done with T.Flight Hotas One/X even in a fast paced dogfight? @@ruggerorandisi7785 I'd save your money and get an extreme 3d pro until youre ready to shell out the ~$150 for a VKB Gladiator NXT. The T Flight Hotas is takes up a lot of space, feels cheap, the throttle is too loose and hollow feeling, and the stick has a bad deadzone and no resistance so you it's not suitable for prop planes unless you disable stalling and stick to arcadey games. I'd take the tiny throttle on my joystick over the crappy t flight hotas x throttle
is there any chance you share your game files ? i tried many different installation, all the different patches, installed the game in many different location, i cant make it work with Windows 10 :/ every times i start the game it do a black screen and then CTD, would love to make the MP work again to play with a friend but for that i need to make the game work
@@driftmonkey2458 I'm using 1440x1080 resolution. and used the patches I linked in the video description. Though it's not 100% stable, I get CTD after a mission from time to time.
@@Coyeauxt Every Windows game in the series (USNF'97,ATF Gold, base Fighters Anthology) will not work properly on modern PC due to lack of any kind of frame limiter - they just run too fast. The only game that has frame limiter is Jane's Fighters Anthology patched to 1.02 version. I used PCem (PC emulator) that emulates slower CPUs to run USNF'97. Or you can use DOS versions (USNF,ATF) with DOSBox to play. But the least hassle option is just to get Fighters Anthology and patch it to 1.02. It works fine on Windows 10.

I appreciate your help with this. I'm trying to get the game to work so my Dad can relive one of his favorite games of all time.
@@Coyeauxt I used PCem with Jane's USNF'97, it can emulate Pentium 233MMX at best so the game will not run as good as Fighters Anhology on modern hardware but it will be playable. I recorded USNF'97 running on PCem here: ua-cam.com/video/rokR5D1rsaM/v-deo.html You can find PCem here: pcem-emulator.co.uk/ though you will have to set it up first. I recommend watching tutorials on YT how to do this if you never set up Windows 95/98 on new PC by yourself back in the day.

I used T.Flight HOTAS X which is basically the same (earlier model) and it worked fine. You should be OK with that stick.
