Fed the only player whose socks didn't get dirty playing on the clay
I’m a simple man. I see a new @RasOls upload, I click.
Roger was extremely good in 2014 and 2015, he just had extremely hard competition at the time.
Extremely hard for a 33-34 y/o champ. It definitely would've been less hard for a 25 y/o himself.
The quality on these is immaculate mate!
Roger Great example of humanity Great man Great Champion who Will never ne forgotten but Always loved❤
Its crazy seeing some of the elements he displayed in this match became a staple and the foundations of his neo backhand in 2017. This match his backhand looked far better than his forehand unironically.
Sir Roger federer golden legend in universal love you so much miss you so much teniss history best player ❤❤❤
The shot at 3:08. That’s all that needs to be said.
Great highlights!
*Many points left out due to copyright*
Cannot blame you. RG is so dogwater awful in every regard, especially copyright strikes, and then they post their own 2-minute highlights. I hate RG so much.

Where do you get match replays
Do you have the Gulbis match from this tournament?
GOAT
That loss to Gulbis was so rare. He was playing great before and in Monte-Carlo. I wonder what could have been if he played against Novak.
Could´ve beaten him, but not Nadal.
Raz Ols love you so much ❤❤❤
God Bless Raz Ols
1:36 what a beauty
If not for Rafa he would have won it five times.
In the early 2010s, Federer was described as "the third best - possibly the second best - clay court player ever" by a former multiple GS winner. And, yes, five times a winner quite likely but for Rafa. Of course Novak came strong thereafter and went past Roger as a claycourter.
will always have a disadvantage with that height shortzman
What year was this?? Feds outfit is amazing.. if I had to guess, 2015?
2014
@@Whatever-gm3on ahhh that was the year he lost to gulbis lol I remember
roger would literally be the clay court goat if not for rafa
Diego was a real baby here, and a kind of cheerleader too, clapping after all Fed's great points, I can't blame him for that.
And he went to stop his career already ?
The fact is Federer is one of the very best clay player, too bad RAFA is always there.
Unlucky to have to face the best of Rafa on clay during his most productive years.
That forehand from Rafa with heavy top spin high kick balls really hurt Roger in those RG runs in late 2000s. We can see that when the opponent is right-handed with a much flatter backhand, Roger has no issue hitting winners with his single-handed backhand.
@@khuo0219 Roger's backhand had been built and setup for dominating mainly right-handed players with quite flat, double-handed backhands. He was able to destroy easily all those players, but an extremely strong lefty with a huge wicked, very high-bouncing top spin forehand was definitely not in the forecasts during late nineties.
It's not unknown for the REAL Federer's connoisseurs !
This is the RG where Federer played well but than lost to Ernest Gulbis for the second (and I believe last) time in his career
Roland-Garros*
Never did get more than 1 set off Nadal there...
Well hardly anyone did really, it only happened 7 times in 19 years.
@@ashleythomas4112 Well Federer was never able to do it in all his years but 7 other matches did... Federer had a 2-14 record vs Nadal on clay. A number of other players have better records than that.
@@huzcer Yeah, that is a very bad record. I was just saying that at RG barely anyone got 2 sets off Rafa in any match, only 5 different players in 19 years. So it really isn't the worst record that Fed didn't push Rafa to 5 sets at RG, where Rafa is the most dominant that any player has ever been at any event in history. At least Fed managed to end Rafa's record 81 match clay win streak at Hamburg 2007, with a bagel as well.
@@ashleythomas4112 Fed was a bit ill-advised going around saying that Nadal was "one-dimensional" and later "On clay you don't need a volley or a serve. It's too easy'
I'm sure we can cherry pick some De Minaur points and make it a highlight. Doesn't change fact that Federer is the worst on clay of the big 3, and struggled to even win a single RG
Was the video's purpose to say that he was superior on clay from the Big 3? I mean, not even the title seems to put into question Nadal or Nole's supremacy there. Just that Roger could produce great-looking shots on clay, too. Calm down 😅
