Hogwarts performance mode hitting a native looking 4K has been the biggest jump I’ve seen on my Pro thus far. The base performance mode isn’t even close.
Im playing on a 60 inch 4k . I think its 1440p upscaled at 60fps in performance mode . looks good to me . I'm absolutely know it looks and plays very good for a $450 device I can put up with a less shiny floor in a game and lower resolution but 30fps can be seen and felt the entire game . 30 is what it is and there is no fixing that .
@@Crashed131963dude there are some pc guys spending 2000$ for a graphics card too see shiny reflections and you complain about 250$ 🤦🏻♂️ i am so done wth guys like you 🙄
I've gravitated towards the balanced mode uncapped on the Pro. Seems to keep above 60 the majority of the time. Weirdly, all the modes perform better uncapped except the Fidelity with RT, which seems to perform much better capped on my LG C1, 120/VRR on etc. Not too sure what's going there.. Keep up the good work on the videos! Great to see how all these games perform on the Pro.
I used to think VRR wasn’t a big deal, but now I can’t imagine not having it. I highly recommend getting a tv with VRR before getting a Pro. Having a TV with VRR for your PS5 will be a bigger upgrade than the Pro itself.
Unfortunately this game will never get the 4K60 with rate tracing treatment but that's a technical limitation of it being the very first version of a unreal engine 4 game and unfortunately this version of unreal engine 4 is not really all that well optimized for console The one thing I don't like about this game that it is not using the lastest version of unreal engine 5 as of it was being made and released basically what I'm saying is the version of unreal engine that they're using is not very efficient for consoles and is really demanding
I am happy VRR exists in these games so ps6 can play these at high performance and we won’t need devs to update fps caps like ps4 games are now stuck at.
Watched a video the other day and I think that youtubers conclusion was it was best to play in uncapped performance mode over high framerate because there is a fidelity loss. How big the loss is not sure 🤔
Hogwarts looks a lot better in performance mode than on base PS5. Looks very close to 4k but I don't think it uses pssr. No info on that anywhere online.
Thanks for your PS5 Pro coverage! It’s been great getting a game by game look. The Pro version of Hogwarts has allowed me to leave behind the stuttery mess that is the PC version for good. What a great patch! Performances mode is so good.
I dunno about this game. Hogwarts on ps5 pro for me has been a glitch fest. Gonna try to uninstall and reinstall it at some point to see if that helps.
Sadly even with cap on this game suffer from stutter I usually do not mind playing 30 fps games on the ps5 but even with this game it did definitely go under 30 frames per second in the rt mode I will either wait a patch or play it on the ps6

@@jdjdjdjdjd8490 If a game is playing at a locked 30fps (or any frame Rate) then VRR is pointless. VRR is just to smooth out games that have large Frame Rate fluctuations and prevents tearing . One thing the Ps5 does well is if you play in 30fps mode ot 60fps mode it holds very close to that frame rate . I think a locked steady 60fps is smoother than bouncing between 70 fps to 100 fps constantly . Even VRR can help that much of a frame Rate fluctuation .

On PlayStation 5 Pro, performance mode is the way to go
Leave frame cap on. Do not turn it off. It runs smoother in all presets with frame cap on. When off it stutters and lags
Love the content man, I'm hyper analytical about things and it's nice to find content that feeds that.

Great video! The frame counter is really helpful.
As long as I have 60fps, I'm generally happy (my TV doesn't have VRR, so anything over that won't matter.)
Same , most people have 4k/60hz TVs but 60fps looks smooth so it's ok .
