The United States has the highest defense budget and military spending than any other nation on the planet, more than twice that of the second highest nation, China. Thus the jokes about our defense budget.
not practical at all, lets say building 1 liberty prime took 100 billion dollar (considering Zumwalt program is 23 billion dollar), you can make 2500 Trident missiles, or 67 F-22. while Liberty Prime walks slowly 10 jets already locked on it. the more difficult a machine is, the harder to repair it.
Red Deimon Oh of course it'd be impractical, but it wouldn't be the first time the US military has pissed money away on military projects that went nowhere.
why isn't there a little action figure of liberty prime who if you press a button he will say a line from his dialogue or his eyes light up red or make one of them throwing toys that throw the big mini nukes
in fallout 3 yeah i agree in fallout 4 there armor is made out of tissue paper but can still use them for transport if someone want to fight a war against them i hope they have some good anti-air weapons
see, the enclave did it one better by blowing the poor sod up from orbit. and Rusty Shackleford keep in mind that the ncr has been known to use vertibirds for various things lorewise, so that mayyy prove a problem, however i don't know if they have much combat piloting experience.
Chris Franklin NCR is probably the only faction left that could stand a chance against the Brotherhood, assuming the Enclave is completely gone which is unlikely.
i come to think giant slow robots are almost useless you need to have a lot anti air or control the airspace make sure there is no artillery make sure no anti tank or tanks sneak behind it so you need some infantry or armor to watch it's back
As of December 2020, open to the public, there is a assisted moving Gundam in Japan. It is so far still attached to a dock to help it move. The problem of building our universe and fallout universe Liberty Prime is the same: powering the robot. We have the tech to make it move, make its armor, make its weapons, and make its intelligence. However, there is no power source powerful enough to enable all of these functions. The video didn't mention the power source problems. The closest thing we could power Liberty Prime are mobile nuclear reactors. Now, the smallest mobile reactor that possible to be built today that could power Liberty Prime is the size of a truck. RTGS and Lithium-ion doesn't produce enough power for Liberty Prime's functions.
liberty prime's head is bigger than that of a human the whole thing could be big enogh to fit in a military anti air laser weapon that is already deployed
Look at the technology of the Battletech universe. 30m robots that move with Myomer muscles. Able to punch, kick, fire heavy weapons and use the innate sense of balance of the pilots to move like a human.

Stairs are easy with treads, if the treads are angled, large and wide, the bot can lean forward as the treads push back. Toy robots do this. Some tanks move the barrel to keep it horizontal when going up or down.
no giant self aware giant anti communist nuke throwing bad ass robot please I'll just stick to the protectron which is probably more likely by the way would a The Tech video be possible for a mister handy that sounds like an interesting topic (at least to me)
Regarding the treads vs. stairs... has anyone thought of self adjusting treads? each part of the tread can move into a different position to go down staird
I was disappointed when I saw liberty prime in fallout 4. I hoped that the final battle between BoS and the institute would be more awesome. A fleet of vertibirds attacking the IT building, circling it and shooting synths on the ground and roof with miniguns. But no, they decided that it would be better to just reuse the fight from fallout 3, where you follow the big bad robot and pretty much do nothing, until you get in. Actually, the whole game was a big fan service to fallout 3 fans, the music, the old characters, liberty prime, the main quests. I love fallout 3, one of my all time favorite games, but if I wanted to be reminded of fallout 3, I would just play fallout 3. Not pay 40£ for a game that is trying to be like it.
Fatty8Claws I'm one of the few open fans for fallout 3. I didn't really find the story of fallout 4 much of a service. Instead, I wanted something that blew me away just as much as when I first seen liberty prime in action, not a rehash. I was hoping the zeppelin would play a role, or at least liberty prime would be more badass than just making a behemoth look weak. I feel they already did a fan service in fallout 3's broken steel dlc, with the return of prime. They probably just ran out of originality do to the making of three different endings
Andrew Godly You don't need much original thought on the ending that I described or on the zeppelin ending. :D I'm not really mad though, I did buy the game, I played it, I enjoyed it the first time I played through it. 2nd time thought, not so much. When I first play games, I rush the main story. 2nd time I play all the sidequests and go explore and I must say that the lack of sidequests was disappointing. Feels like bethesda mostly focused on the same repetitive quests that the minutemen give you. Locations of interest were kind of disappointing too, reminded me of skyrim's dungeons. Uninteresting from the outside, go inside, fight through hordes of enemies, kill the boss, get loot, use a shortcut back to the exit.
Fatty8Claws Yea, it sucks how rpg's are starting to resemble mmo's, especially Bethesda games. Quantity is fine but without quality it leaves a game feeling lifeless and boring. Those quest's that you just can't wait to play again after starting a new game are what really makes it. Fallout 3 may have been lacking in some areas but walking a minefield guarded by a hermit, living a comic book and choosing a side, meeting post-apocalyptic vampires, retrieving a geck from a vault guarded by a child settlement, finding druids and a tree-man, going into a simulation of a 50's neighborhood which has a young girl who is actually a 250 year old professor. It sadens me to see all the criticism that fallout 3 receives even though it's a game you can play at any time Have you ever played fable 1 and 2? I could replay the hell out of those, beat fable 5 times and the 2nd one 7 times Although, I'm enjoying some memberries we really do need quality in future games. 20 hours of quality is almost infinite
Andrew Godly No, I never played the fable games. Dungeon keeper 2 is my all time favorite and GTA san andreas. Played those games like there was no tomorrow. :D I honestly have lost count on how many times I've beaten them.
I didn’t really mind, he’s kind of the Eastern Brotherhood’s mascot and their most powerful weapon (the blimp is bigger but do you seriously understand how flammable those things are? Plus it was their entire command, logistics and mataintince structure, plus their ticket home... all things you want as far away from hostile as you could manage). If they didn’t use him it would have been just as weird if the brotherhood didn’t bring their power armor to the fight. I did find it rather cool that powering him up is the point of no return mission, because starting him up cost a lot there’s some weight to his appearance at the end. Plus, the way he sort of casually dug all the way from MIT down to the institute was the most epic thing he ever did
you forgot about laws. the laser automated weapon system. we use it on American ships to shoot down planes. also Atlas, the humanoid robot developed by Boston dynamics.
You know what can't go trough stairs? A single wheel **claptrap sobs** also, threads would seem a better option considering how difficult would be for those huge ass feet to use stairs properly unless every staircase in the fallout universe have conveniently evenly distributed resting spots
Because thats what he does pretty much. Like 1000% less thought put into it than 'The Science' series done by Austin, I don't even watch Andrews videos anymore.
I am here because I like and support shoddycast. If Andrew happens to see that this is a common complaint he might actually put more effort into his videos. If he made videos that weren't shit I would gladly watch him.
Memorandom I am here because you would think when someone constantly gets criticized for carrying out lazy "research" and just putting together videos, they would put more effort into what they were making.
Tarik VanKantholz It's the center of the Military and Government and the farthest major city from the Front line so it's safer from sabotage or air strikes
Having a machine toss a nuke is absolutely pointless. It's much more reliable and simple to build a launcher. That's why spears were dropped for arrows.
i think you missed a big part of liberty prime: its power source. such a huge robot cant be easily powered by conventional energy sourves. in the game it theres even a quest that requires you to get this big beryllium fusion reactor thing to make it work.
Leon Trotsky well, it would be better if you were recognized as the gulag guy, rite? xD I'm a comrade, even though I don't like the three Russians. Specially Lenin.
Dias Gabriel That is a hard point to make. Saying you a Comrade and yet not liking Lenin. But tell me why don't you like him. Also I don't know why anyone would know me as the 'gulag guy'.
On the frontline, the main objective would probably be psychological combat, seeing a huge machine charging towards you, throwing high powered explosives and firing large-caliber weapons. As a military-police or occupation role, it'd be pretty kickass in tight urban combat, depending on how quick it is :p
Flemme Werfer Tracks would still be more reliable, lower profile, and the psychological impact of normal tanks is rather intense. knees make vulnerabilities
Dies1r4e True, legs are super weak to impact. Even if a shell or rocket didn't penetrate the armor of a mech, the force from the impact or blast would certainly knock it over. I guess spider-like mechs could be used in extremely kraggy or mountainous terrain where a tank would only be able to use roads, if there are any :P. A legged vehicle would be interesting for troop transport or moving gear through especially hilly or mountainous terrain. The alternative being a high-profile helicopter.
the idea is if we ever get thrusters if we could get it to glide/ski across a surface it speed and mobility would make it terrifying but that wont be anytime soon if ever
Seems like the Mobile Suit Gundam would be more diffocult to get stable because of having a more narrow base at the feet. The Zaku II or Gelgoog seem more stable. I really loved the various earlier Gundam shows and would really like to see one in real life, although it would be terrifying.
Captain Killjoy sputnick was a PR stunt designed to make america rush the space program without Kennedys promise to reach the moon in a decade they would have built the shuttle program in the 70s and a moon base by the 90s
it wasnt a lack of combat subroutines in primes code that stopped him from being use it was the power source issues they were having with the robot that prevented its use. fixed and solved by Dr. Madison Li :ref: fallout 3. and fallout wiki
because he is hitler am i right people are being dragged out of there houses right know right? o wait not at all quit overreacting you lost case and point
He doesn't take office til January, so no one can say one way or the other. Though regardless of president, I wouldn't be surprised if the military actually contemplated something like building a giant robot at some point or another.
What if there was a comic were the fallout universe crossed over with the marvel universe, and liberty prime teamed up with captain America because MERICA
Albert Wolford there is a working "LASER PISTOL" it needs a car battery as a power source which gives you 1 shot and there is no visible beam or bolt just a 1/2 second pulse hot enough to break a small rock in half
There has been research done into ship mounted laser weaponry, the tech is there, but as austin has said in his videos, there are some issues with laser weaponry. Cheaper to fire than a standard bullet, but a heavy rainstorm or worse, fog, would render it unusable.
What about "metal rain/storm" (not sure of the name) 1 million rounds a minute rate of fire (note it does not hold a million rounds thats just how fast it fires) Its mentioned in one of the "posleen war" books using 40mm grenades
TheGrace020 well the problem with that is that the laser weapon in his eyes is more of a cannon than a rifle. Scaling up a gauss rifle to make it a cannon(in the fallout universe) would require much more space than inside of the head, and a place to store all of the large chunks of ammunition it would lob. Having a laser would be faster, less cumbersome, and more destructive due to its more available fuel source.

Joseph Bakry Well my thought was if you were to place the railgun/gauss cannon in his chest, and make it slingshot from the body out through the neck and out the eyes but the speed might make that hard or close to impossible....
Hey austin. I found your show a few months ago and I've been hooked on it ever since. I have watched every single episode of your series about the science behind things. I've been playing dishonored 2 recently and I was playing the clockwork mansion. Would it be possible to build a mechanical house as depicted in the game? I really hope you do a episode on this. Sincerely, Your biggest fan
This isn't an Austin video. It's an Andrew(me) video :) Austin and I have been playing a load of Dishonored 2, and the clockwork mansion is certainly an interest of mine, however maybe Austin is pulling some strnigs behind the scenes and crafting a video on it. -Andrew
Legs (in machines) are the worst form of transport, they use a lot of resources to work, and it's very complicated to make it move fast, like in movies... To make "movie" walkers (these fast like mechs) we need at least 15 years I think.
Szczawik324 But legs are really good at traversing uphill without losing balance. Though, I guess maybe the tread tires thing if done right could do it better
Joshua Osei Yes they are, but you realy need steep hill to think about legs. I prefer wheels and caterpillars because i'm physic maniac and i love looking how suspension work
I'm more interested in leg diversity. I would like to see legs like the ones on the Chickenwalkers in Star Wars. Which ever version of the AT line. But I would also like to see a Metal Gear Ray
AT-ST to walk, need to "swing" from left leg to right, center of gravity move like infinity sign to stay on legs, and that's harder than it seems. Walking machines are incredible fun to watch but it took a lot to make it unfortunetly :/
GamingEchelon Ahh, you're obviously are oblivious to the fictional movies/Tv series, including podcasts and blogs from well known theoretical scientists.
A3G4 / Rodriguez G. Fictional movies are just that, fictional movies. That's like getting afraid of aliens because you watched the Avengers. Also I cab guarantee that about 90% of the theoretical scientists have little history in the computer sciences and most likely gained their off of the same movies/books everyone else has.
It wouldn't be irrational if we actually had advanced AI in the world today, but we don't. We have nothing on the level of Synths or any kind of artificial life form, so it is indeed irrational at this point in time.
GamingEchelon Artificial intelligence is a legitamate fear the reason why is because that some people think that a robot that can think and learn on its own may one day think that the only way to help humanity is to kill it that's why people are afraid of it
Hey Andrew! Loving these tech videos! Sorry to see some of the negative comments about your narration. I personally find your videos fine and equal with the others on the channel! Keep up the great work!
We are stuck in the age where technology is limited I don't think we are in the position to create a liberty Prime for two reasons 1. Unless we can harness the power of the Sun without getting burned up and or using plasma energy for...............anything really then we can make a liberty Prime but like I said we are not in the position to do that 2. We are not at War or at least we never hear of a losing war so no we can't and should not create a liberty Prime no matter how cool it is unless we are in dire need but that's just my opinion truthfully I wish Liberty Prime existed in our world. PS nobody's going to read all this
And no, it would be made with the help of a top Japanese and American team. Why would we care if they Japanese made one first anyway. Most Americans love Japan and respect it's advancements.
Nappa: Hey Vegeta, how many hit points does that giant robot have? Vegeta: 5 million!!!! Nappa: did you remember where we parked the pods? Vegeta: no.. Nappa: we're doomed!!!
>Could be a fully operational gundam No, there are videos of the disassembly/assembly. It's a metal frame with armor parts on. No mechanics other than the head-joint are present.
@4:30 - you missed the obvious reference - it looks almost exactly like a Madcat mech from Battletech, with the shoulder-mounted rocket pods removed. Likely where they got their inspiration.
im very prowed to be an amerrican in fact its the first time in 8 years. god i cant wait till obama is out of office. say it with me now Mr. President Trump
Now, I'm not a genius, but last I checked, treads can climb stairs. As long as the tread is higher than a single step, it's fine, and those treads looked a lot bigger than a single step.
*Ahem* The Actual reason Liberty Prime wasn't operational is becouse they couldn't properly power him becouse he requires so much and they could not supply it properly. Until Madison Lee was able to fix his reactor.
I love these tech videos. "What's the real world equivalent of a mech that shoots death rays out of its eyes?" "Well, there was this one guy who duct taped two laser pointers to a pair of sunglasses." "Great jimmy, well use that."
one priblem with thos legs is that the whole structure above them has to go to the side and then move back to the outhere side whitch is going to make balance a problem
don't know if anyone else said it, also, i haven't watched the video yet but we already have most of the technology needed to build liberty prime including the lasers but we don't any power source that is capable of even making it move. the lasers will also consume a lot of energy. even lasers strong enough to light a small fire consumes a lot of energy so imagine a laser hot enough to melt concrete.
Would you not want our version of liberty primal being able to adapt to new situations, because I believe a modified version of googles deep thought VI would go brilliant for this type of think. It basically mimics the human learning process
what if you just took the heavy duty legs and the strapped the team USA oh kurata (or something) top half on it (with some changes to allow the legs to work with the torso)
tbh with all the tech we have now and days we can build 10 or more of liberty primes its easy to weaponize lazers and the structural construct of liberty prime is easy to make also
There's a small problem when talking about the arm. Now, I don't know the carry weight of the Ecole Polytechnique robot arm, but usually when talking about robot arms the faster they are the weaker they are and vice versa. That being said, Liberty has a fully armored arm that has to throw a nuke at a speed which is quite fast. It's not going to work.
So...one more thing to note: Gyros. If you compare the heavy duty legs in your video with the way Prime walks, it's obvious they don't use the same system. And if you've ever played...well, anything connected to the Battletech franchise (Mechwarrior, the tabletop games, whatever), you can see why. Liberty Prime is clearly using a gyro. Though I'm not the master of SCIENCE! or TECH! that you guys are, it'd still be nice to see an episode that acknowledges this. Whether it's Bastion in his recon config, Liberty Prime, or almost any other robot ever (all the way down to the Protectrons in Fallout) they're all clearly functioning on a gyro system. It'd just be nice to see you guys explain how those work :) (Note: though I have a basic understanding, I don't even 100% understand them myself. So yeah I'd really like to see that.)
With all these things that could kill me, flame spell, double minigun wall-e, eye lasers, I want to know what armor could possibly save my life from these things. Preferably, a self powered armor, since I don't want to be left helpless when a battery runs out.
The reason Prime didn't make it to Anchorage wasn't because of programming, the problem was they couldn't power him properly, there wasn't a power source both powerful enough and small enough to work. Even after the BoS found him, it took them years to even get basic functionality working. They tried to divert power from his weapon systems to other functions, but the AI seemed to refuse to reduce weapon power for anything.
A huge problem we have with technology right now is power, we are severely limited until he find a more efficient power source. Nuclear Fusion if we ever manage to do it, will be revolutionary, but for a robot like prime it must be movable or have an efficient battery of some kind.
People who commented on track having a tough time with stairs; quit thinking at tiny scales. Tanks were invented with track on them to drive over trenches during trench warfare, and the front loader frame they used for the MK2 are more than capable of climbing any set of stairs out there.
Come on America use all that military funding you have to make Liberty Prime a reality
Jeff Solis That's what I was thinking the military knows it has a blank check why not use it to build this!
skysthe limitvideos slow, impractical, better off making four legged human shields.
The United States has the highest defense budget and military spending than any other nation on the planet, more than twice that of the second highest nation, China. Thus the jokes about our defense budget.

Todd thought of it but decided it had to wait and I trust Jaso... todd
There isn't one of him period as far as I'm aware
the only problem from a massive robot is in combat that it's huge target for aerial assault
Which makes the Brotherhood pretty much invincible in Fallout 4 because they're the only faction who can get more than a few feet off the ground.
in fallout 3 yeah i agree in fallout 4 there armor is made out of tissue paper but can still use them for transport if someone want to fight a war against them i hope they have some good anti-air weapons

No.

Not sure about Fallout 4 mods, but there is a Ulfric(Trump faced) and Elisif (Hillary faced)mod. Also there is one that makes the Talos priest into Trump.
But has anyone made a Trump hat for the player character?
Nope, as far as I know no hat.
someone made a mod that makes Trump a companion
The US and Japan both have one. There is a challenge currently on the table for a battle between them. Both countries are currently going over their machines and upgrading as necessary in preparation.
I thought it was a lack of power why Liberty Prime wasn't active.
It was.
They missed that point.
It wasn't the lack of power, but making it compact & portable enough to fit inside...
As a American I love to learn about what other countries are doing and building because it lets me have a bit of insight on how other countries think
I HAVE WAITED FOR THIS, FOR SO GOD DAMN FUCKING LONG!
Liberty primes knees are the most realistically made out of all the bots you showed. They function how a humans knee would.
Need to learn how to do 3D modelling, must make Liberty Prime into the Turn-A Gundam.
We might have a fully functioning Liberty Prime by 2077 look how far we’ve come in less than a decade

Why do all of Andrew's videos sound like he just searches for something, and pulls off whatever is written on the first result.
Because thats what he does pretty much. Like 1000% less thought put into it than 'The Science' series done by Austin, I don't even watch Andrews videos anymore.
And yet, here you are. . .
Wait, this isn’t Austin? I was wondering why someone else’s voice is in this video.
If the greatest scientific minds could build a giant combat robot, it would be like a Manticore for Black Ops III.
Why was Liberty Prime built in Washington DC when he was supposed to fight in Alaska?
Maybe, the Chinese could have already station bombers and shit there, and if you build it in Canada they might have bombed it while builing.
Tarik VanKantholz huh...
Tarik VanKantholz It's the center of the Military and Government and the farthest major city from the Front line so it's safer from sabotage or air strikes
I don´t know.... I don´t know the states of the US because i am from Germany.
it just works!
Making Liberty Prime great again!
Having a machine toss a nuke is absolutely pointless. It's much more reliable and simple to build a launcher. That's why spears were dropped for arrows.
at least you have to agree it'll look cool see a giant robot spout American propaganda and hurling mini nukes at enemies in real life
Bs
@@stevenadkins4684 that would be f*cking awesome i cannot deny. i would love to see a giant robot throwing nukes like footballs.
i think you missed a big part of liberty prime: its power source. such a huge robot cant be easily powered by conventional energy sourves. in the game it theres even a quest that requires you to get this big beryllium fusion reactor thing to make it work.
Well I'm not Chinese, so jokes on you.
Leon Trotsky you're the ice pick guy, right?
Dias Gabriel Yes, I am indeed the 'ice pick guy'. Why is that the one thing everyone knows me for.
Leon Trotsky well, it would be better if you were recognized as the gulag guy, rite? xD
I'm a comrade, even though I don't like the three Russians. Specially Lenin.
Dias Gabriel That is a hard point to make. Saying you a Comrade and yet not liking Lenin. But tell me why don't you like him. Also I don't know why anyone would know me as the 'gulag guy'.
To be fair that was a rather original way to die. Not the way I would like to become famous but still.
Great pick for topic, wouldn't have thought of it but it's very well suited to the show.
answer, yes we could with ease, would we? never, bipedal robots are vulnerable as hell for a front line combat role.
I love this! all your Fallout material. One thing I'd love to see is the SCIENCE! behind those radiation storms in fallout 4
I want a Titan.. that's all I'm saying
Dreadlockridge CONCLUSION: I am 50% in love.
I want either a Jeager, or the Iron Giant.
***** superman ;)
***** erm... you realize i'm referencing iron giant, right?
Sein desa essen wir sin die jaeger!
Seems like the Mobile Suit Gundam would be more diffocult to get stable because of having a more narrow base at the feet. The Zaku II or Gelgoog seem more stable. I really loved the various earlier Gundam shows and would really like to see one in real life, although it would be terrifying.
I want to see a video behind the teleportation that is used to enter the institution.
Huh, surprising how close that robot at the end came to coming out of the uncanny valley. Still a ways to go, but I'm impressed!
Technology would be 500 years ahead of what it is today if humans were not plagued by a facade of financial limitation
Keltic Sage I read somewhere if the US stayed at around the same level of regulation as after ww2 we would have a 50 trillion dollar economy
Keltic Sage dont forget religion also holds back technological advancements
Also it is estimated that America lost 50 years of technology when they rushed the space program to get them into space before Russia
Captain Killjoy sputnick was a PR stunt designed to make america rush the space program without Kennedys promise to reach the moon in a decade they would have built the shuttle program in the 70s and a moon base by the 90s
Religion doesn't hold back technological advancements, it just doesn't. Irrational fear of the unknown holds back technological advancement.
it wasnt a lack of combat subroutines in primes code that stopped him
from being use it was the power source issues they were having with the
robot that prevented its use. fixed and solved by Dr. Madison Li :ref: fallout 3. and fallout wiki
Liberty prime sized tank >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Liberty prime
actually Attack helicopter>>>>>>>>>>tank>>>>>>>>>>>>liberty prime
Asebele Keto why is an attack helicopter so much cooler?
a liberty prime sized tank would be pretty shitty with current technology due to the sheer weight, might as well call it a mobile fortress instead.
Xx_Krazee_Kieran_xX |•| Admiral Swagbar attack helicopter can kill a tank with just a rocket
NetherPrime lol a liberty prime would be pretty shitty with current technology due to the sheer weight, might as well call it a mobile useless
I will not be surprised if Trump build this thing
because he is hitler am i right people are being dragged out of there houses right know right? o wait not at all quit overreacting you lost case and point
Jerico Joaquin You just read my mind.
He doesn't take office til January, so no one can say one way or the other. Though regardless of president, I wouldn't be surprised if the military actually contemplated something like building a giant robot at some point or another.
But he's friends with a communist, also Liberty prime is all about freedom and democracy so trump would have to make a lot of changes
Who hasn't contemplated building a giant robot at some point or another?
What if there was a comic were the fallout universe crossed over with the marvel universe, and liberty prime teamed up with captain America because MERICA
To all the Chinese and Korean people forget you saw this video it's only going to bring bad memories
Well, the military did kind of made a type of laser
Albert Wolford there is a working "LASER PISTOL" it needs a car battery as a power source which gives you 1 shot and there is no visible beam or bolt just a 1/2 second pulse hot enough to break a small rock in half
And imagine that, powered by something like fallout's power cells / micro fusion cells.
There has been research done into ship mounted laser weaponry, the tech is there, but as austin has said in his videos, there are some issues with laser weaponry.
Cheaper to fire than a standard bullet, but a heavy rainstorm or worse, fog, would render it unusable.
We have LAWS on some US ships that have lasers that can take out drones from the sky.
What about "metal rain/storm" (not sure of the name) 1 million rounds a minute rate of fire (note it does not hold a million rounds thats just how fast it fires)
Its mentioned in one of the "posleen war" books using 40mm grenades
What about the YAL-1? Mounted on a Boeing 747 as an airborne, anti-ballistic missile laser?
Couldn't Liberty Primes eyes shot Railgun shots instead of lasers? they are pretty much the same thing in Fallout... Gauss rifle Laser riffle...
Having a laser would be faster, less cumbersome, and more destructive due to its more available fuel source.

if you watch any footage of railgun, the railgun basically destroy itself
Red Deimon Well Fallout is set in 2077 so they would probably refine it it those 61 years...
Joseph Bakry Well my thought was if you were to place the railgun/gauss cannon in his chest, and make it slingshot from the body out through the neck and out the eyes but the speed might make that hard or close to impossible....
liberity prime remides me of the iron giant
prime for president
he dint lack combat subroutines he lacked a power source
just a small nitpick but its actually pronounced "gun-dum" not "gun-dam".
HellsRaven4444 British Bright Noa would be pleased at his enunciation.
lol Gundammit.
Sincerely,
Your biggest fan
This isn't an Austin video. It's an Andrew(me) video :)
Austin and I have been playing a load of Dishonored 2, and the clockwork mansion is certainly an interest of mine, however maybe Austin is pulling some strnigs behind the scenes and crafting a video on it.
Walking machines are incredible fun to watch but it took a lot to make it unfortunetly :/
no its posible if we useengines instead of hydrolics
Anyone else think Liberty Prime sounds like Optimus Prime? Just replace every time he says "Chinese Communists" with "Deceptions".
The fear of AI is seriously the most irrational thing I've heard of
GamingEchelon Ahh, you're obviously are oblivious to the fictional movies/Tv series, including podcasts and blogs from well known theoretical scientists.
GamingEchelon Artificial intelligence is a legitamate fear the reason why is because that some people think that a robot that can think and learn on its own may one day think that the only way to help humanity is to kill it that's why people are afraid of it
Raven Brown Thank you
Hey Andrew! Loving these tech videos! Sorry to see some of the negative comments about your narration. I personally find your videos fine and equal with the others on the channel! Keep up the great work!
Thank you, my good man! I'm glad that you enjoy my work on the channel.
Thereon Inarek Thanks for the support!!
Oh, look, it's Notaustin. Looks like I can skip this one.
Oh look Kenji..... Get out of my shower.
PS nobody's going to read all this
Haha, Gundam Is pronounced as Gun - dum, not Gundamn... anyway, wasn't the statue made for the Toyko 2020 Olympics?
I cringed when he said Gun Damn too.
"it could be a fully operational Gundam"
*LAUGHS IN TITAN RODEO*
ok
Gundam sounds like goddamn with your accent lol. It's cute.
And no, it would be made with the help of a top Japanese and American team. Why would we care if they Japanese made one first anyway. Most Americans love Japan and respect it's advancements.
Zero Todona It is more the other way around. Europe has accomplished a lot more than Japan.
+Zero Todona Prime is so badass we'd probably like it if anyone made him. Except Russia or China. We'd have to build a bigger one.
Nappa: Hey Vegeta, how many hit points does that giant robot have?
Vegeta: 5 million!!!!
Nappa: did you remember where we parked the pods?
Vegeta: no..
Nappa: we're doomed!!!
Tbh the only offensive thing is that you'd assume Americans would be offended by talking about Japan and not America. I mean, seriously?
You mean there is something outside of the Internet? :O
***** And I'm an American that finds the stereotype offensive because I'm not a degenerate hillbilly fuck.
Croak80 I live in the South and literally no one acts like all those old hillbilly stereotypes. So you're just as much of a hypocrite.
Found it funny considering how much japan and america share their cultures and styles.
Croak80 anime is shit
>Could be a fully operational gundam
No, there are videos of the disassembly/assembly. It's a metal frame with armor parts on. No mechanics other than the head-joint are present.
Metal Gear...
@4:30 - you missed the obvious reference - it looks almost exactly like a Madcat mech from Battletech, with the shoulder-mounted rocket pods removed. Likely where they got their inspiration.
After the other day I don't think any of us are 'proud to be an american' anymore. lol
Shambles1980TRealOne No, I think he is just thanking his lucky stars his gamble worked.... lol
im very prowed to be an amerrican in fact its the first time in 8 years. god i cant wait till obama is out of office. say it with me now Mr. President Trump
Shambles1980TRealOne eh not worried lets see how well you spell after being awake for 48 hours.
hardwire Typical crack smokin' trump voter!
Throttle Kitty nope just a gamer and i kinda had a personal interest in this election.
What about the power source, Liberty Prime runs on the Beryllium Agitator. Can you please answer this?
Video is ok I guess, but I really don't like your voice for some reason lol
The SCIENCE of how reaper became the edgelord.. Please
Chance of failing to build Liberty Prime : 0 PERCENTS *fire lasers*
Now, I'm not a genius, but last I checked, treads can climb stairs. As long as the tread is higher than a single step, it's fine, and those treads looked a lot bigger than a single step.
*Ahem* The Actual reason Liberty Prime wasn't operational is becouse they couldn't properly power him becouse he requires so much and they could not supply it properly. Until Madison Lee was able to fix his reactor.
I love these tech videos. "What's the real world equivalent of a mech that shoots death rays out of its eyes?" "Well, there was this one guy who duct taped two laser pointers to a pair of sunglasses." "Great jimmy, well use that."
could someone please tell me the name of the song that starts at 13:38?
Whats the music in background in the beginning of the video?
one priblem with thos legs is that the whole structure above them has to go to the side and then move back to the outhere side whitch is going to make balance a problem
"There is hope for humanity by building a 3 story death machine ". Pretty much his words there..
don't know if anyone else said it, also, i haven't watched the video yet but we already have most of the technology needed to build liberty prime including the lasers but we don't any power source that is capable of even making it move. the lasers will also consume a lot of energy. even lasers strong enough to light a small fire consumes a lot of energy so imagine a laser hot enough to melt concrete.
What vegetation mod are you using?
Would you not want our version of liberty primal being able to adapt to new situations, because I believe a modified version of googles deep thought VI would go brilliant for this type of think. It basically mimics the human learning process
Check out the US Navy's LWS. its a 30kw laser soon to be scaled up to 100kw that replaces the CIWS. Its more than powerful enough for LP
What about the power source needed to run such a thing for any practical length of time?
5:40 Liberty Prime is defiantly bigger than that.
do anyone knows the letter font used in the beggining words of the video?
what if you just took the heavy duty legs and the strapped the team USA oh kurata (or something) top half on it (with some changes to allow the legs to work with the torso)
tbh with all the tech we have now and days we can build 10 or more of liberty primes its easy to weaponize lazers and the structural construct of liberty prime is easy to make also
There's a small problem when talking about the arm.
It'd just be nice to see you guys explain how those work :)
(Note: though I have a basic understanding, I don't even 100% understand them myself. So yeah I'd really like to see that.)
My first thought was that the center of gravity would be too high for bipedal legs, and I would switch to tripod legs, probably on a pivoting base.
Don't worry about it. As Marty McFly says in Back to the Future II about Japan, all the best stuff is made there. :)
People who commented on track having a tough time with stairs; quit thinking at tiny scales.
Tanks were invented with track on them to drive over trenches during trench warfare, and the front loader frame they used for the MK2 are more than capable of climbing any set of stairs out there.
Donald forgets the wall when he sees this and instead has a team of primes on the border
