Such high energy!! I LOVE THIS SONG it's the only musical I know that actually invites the audience to join the story, not just presenting and introducing the story.
You know, I don't like the cat's interpretation, but I'm willing to give him credit for being the only person I've seen playing the part in any UA-cam productions of this who actually made some sort of decision of how to play his character. Most people's mode of operation seems to be "Be really, really, really enthusiastic! And don't actually have any other personality traits!"
this was filmed on preview nite, there were only about 10 people there in the audience...the director and some significant others of the cast, that's why the audience is a small reaction to everything.
I love how they gave Yertle the Turtle a shell, they gave Sour Kangeroo this huge, pink, kangeroo costume of somesort, and then what did they give Horton? Grey clothes!?!
personally, i think this is a better musical when kids/teens do it, i know it's acting but it's weird when adults do it, of couse there are some very talented singers/actors in this clip.
@Z03G he is also our coregragher. our diractor win top theasbine teacher of the year award. we go to state every year for our plays and musicals. plus our school is labeled art's magnet progrem.
Ok so my school did this last weekend, no offense but I haven't found a single video on UA-cam yet that beat ours, they did it so well, you could tell they put a lot of work into it, and everyone fit their parts so well, I might post some videos up if I can get a copy
i swear i laughed soo much while watching this. the trumpet, OMG, wtf happened. though the saxophone rocked!!(if u heard it, the only instrument that sounded good) at the end the audience didnt know how to react, it only sounded like 3 people clapped. hahaha
This is SO weird, not cause of what it is, but because right now my school is putting on this performance (opening night was last night) and I'm used to hearing this sung and performed by my friends (I work backstage so I've never seen it from the audience) and it's sung my middle schoolers' so it's in a different key. This was interesting to watch after getting used to my school'sversion ^_^

It varies. I've seen a few different versions with guys playing them, or girls. Though it does mess stuff up a bit for the military bit.
