So what’s your answer… do you truly need more megapixels or are you fine with the 33mp sensor of the a7iv? Would love to know!
I have both, the A7riii is still a fantastic camera in 2023, the image quality is top notch. The A7iv gives you similar image quality, but is a better user experience with the updated autofocus, ergonomics, and newer features. If you have the budget the A7iv is a great all around camera, if you just shoot photos can't go wrong either way as long you have the storage for 42mp files.

Excellent video mate. I myself would prefer the 61 mpx since I do more wildlife than anything else. I’m waiting for the a7Rv personally :)

Some people say the a7RIIIA is outdated. Yes it’s a few years old, but I just bought one new with B&H EDU pricing for $1900. At that price it’s a no brainer. Currently, the only Sony glass I have is their compact 40mm f2.5, but it’s a great pairing for street photography. Couldn’t be happier with this ‘old’ camera.
As long as you’re happy there’s nothing wrong with that! It’s a great camera honestly! Only reason I got the a7iv was the 10 bit colour for video since I need that more than just the photos.
@@EasyTigerCreative Totally understandable. I think later on I might pickup an a7iv for hybrid shooting. I’m not much of a videographer, but when I want to make the jump, I’ll definitely pickup a better body for video. The 7k over sampling looks insane on the a7iv.
@@dereksorensen8019 definitely love this camera! The a7iv has been awesome honestly! Wish they had done the over sampling on the a7siii but oh well haha

Totally makes sense! I know a little less megapixels can be different when you’re used to the more megapixels with the R series! But the a1 is the next one and it’s too overpriced haha maybe the a7rv will be solid too!

I’ve been shooting a lot of manual film lately. The a7riii is still a crazy camera. Just a couple years ago it was the best camera on the market. At this point I have mastered my camera settings and focus works good enough for me coming from manual focus. I have 2 a7riiis and love them. I like the 42mp for the price. I’ve tried the a7rV and the biggest thing is the hybrid flippy screen. At this point I feel we are looking for more computer than actual camera. Both are fantastic cameras.
Yes the a7rV is only good for their new screen tilt and flip out haha and obviously having better video capabilities but if you don’t need much video the a7riii is great!
33mp is more than enough for me as I was almost happy with 12mp from my A7siii. Now I have both 😬
Totally makes sense! I think the extra megapixels is great if you do a lot wildlife, sports and things like that cause you can crop more since it happens more rapidly and can miss the framing a little!
Where did you get that back drop from? I want to purchase one.
I can’t remember exactly but I think either B&H or Amazon. Just look up double sided foldable backdrop!

20mp was enough for me on my Olympus EM1M2 so 33mp is more than enough on my new A74.

I would honestly! If you have the budget I’d get an a7iii or the new a7iv with more updates that will last you a lot longer! You get a great amount of Sony lenses and third party lenses to choose from to build a solid arsenal with your gear for any type of shoots!
Is the A7Riii an Option ,before i buy the A7iii. It have more MP and can a Little bit more zoom in(Crop) . The a7iv is to expansiv for me now.

@@floryder3617 well the a7riii is more expensive than the a7iv! So that’s why I put those two options. If you look at my recent videos, I compared prices and why I chose the a7iv to upgrade from my a7iii and a7riii. Could help you out!

I sold my a7riii to get the a7iv...the main reason I did was for the much much more better Auto focus and AI. A7riii had a hard time tracking moving subjects. Now with the a7iv It's such a more improvement so happy now. If all you do is stills a7riii is a good option for the price I've seen them as low as 1000
So true! For me the a7iv made sense because it was amazing for photo but also for video with 10bit colour to edit it a lot smoother!
I have Sony A7III it is still great camera. For my camera i use Sony 24mm 1.4 gm for everything for portrait i use sigma 135mm 1.8 and zoom lens is sigma 100-400mm. i am ready to upgrade my camera but should i wait for sony release new camera or what do you think will be better for me ?
It all depends really on the budget you have and what specs you might need. Do you need any video capabilities? Or just mainly for photo? Because the a7iv has been great for both for me. If you have the budget, I’ve heard the a7rV is great too as a hybrid even with the higher MP the video works great in lowlight. But the mid ground would be the a7iv with 33mp to do great lowlight photo and video with solid AF.
I am looking for a new camera and I came across this very topic 2023 A7 R3 or A7 4, before that I wanted Fujifilm X-T5 but in comparison Fuji APS-C is too expensive for the price than Sony. I would be interested in which is right for me? My motives direction should be landscape, vehicle (technology), street photography. Both have are on sale A7R3 for 1770€ or A74 for 2049€ as body in addition I want lens from Sony 35 1.8mm. What do they think?
If your budget allows, I’d look into the a7iv or a7cii if you want better autofocus and video specs too for the future. Depending if you need dual sd card slots or not then you could see what could work out. But the 35mm lens is always great. One of my favourite focal lengths.
@@EasyTigerCreative I just found the Sony A7C2 also on offer unfortunately only in kit so 28-60 4.0-5.6 lens from 2699€ to 2226€ and should be Newest camera? So I like more pure photos instead of hybrid and I can well imagine with the AI for certain subjects interesting for street photos for fast AF. I could get later time Sigma 35 1.2 instead of Sony 35 1.8.
Do you think the A7C2 is more worthwhile than A7M4?
@@st33Lx if you don’t plan to do much pro photography that you need a second sd and would want a smaller camera then yes the a7cii is great!

Ok but what if you want use camera for big print like a1 format. ? It is so much difference ?
Not really! Most big prints don’t requiere that many pixels honestly. Billboards don’t even take that many pixels to print big so you’d be fine!

@@Leonard1102 you’d be fine with either since they have more than 20mp which is what’s recommended apparently. and those cameras have at least 33mp so you’d be fine haha

@@Leonard1102 my a7iv is better than the riii for sure. I heard the canon can be good too so depends what you want out of your camera and if you have lenses for one brand over the other.

I am an olympus em1 mark III user with 20.4 mpx and they are enough for me. now, they offer me a sony a7riii for €1200!!! well cared for and few photos. difficult not to accept that offer right?
That’s a very great price! Most used ones I’ve seen have been around $1,800-$2,100!
@@EasyTigerCreative I know, I know. About €1,700-2,000 is normal for Second-hand and with many photos. The seller will put the camera at €1,400 but he leaves it for me at €1,200. great price not to miss

Well yes but this is more about the megapixels since some people were debating if 33mp was enough or not. Definitely the a7iv has more updated features that is better and faster to me haha
