- Leo and Max have been sweating it out this summer, so I thought I'd get them a pool. Their first adventure did not go over well, but when we took them to Pigeon ... they had no trouble jumping into the Pigeon River. Good boy, Leo! Good boy, Max!!
Love it, chows dont like water,
I have trouble walking my chow when its raining, he hates it. lol
And he is not Lucky, here in the Netherlands we have a lot of rain
but also a lot of wind and he loves it when its stormy weather,
great movie, enjoy youre lovely dogs, they are beautiful.........
Hahaha mine is the same way . Every time I try and walk him when it's raining he just stairs at me like "lady are you serious right now ?"
I’ve had multiple chows and many of them like the swimming pools, tidal pools, puddles, storms. It all depends on each individual chow’s personality.
Ive had three Chows, wonderful dogs all.....but they all hated water.....and if it was raining out.....they'd go outside, do their business, and then get out of the rain as fast as they could.....:)
Well, I think the chow chows prefers warm water, is better for they.... At least my pet prefers the warm water
+Je Sun Koo I think so too, we had a pond on the last property I lived on.....and my last chow would go into the pond....but only up to her chest, and only when it was really hot out....it helped her cool down......I sure do miss them.....they are a really wonderful breed.
+Je Sun Koo Interesting ... I never thought about that. And that water was fresh from the well so it was really COLD.
WE BOUGHT A POOL FOR OUR FIRST COW NICKY. HE LOVED IT SO MUNH THAT HE CHEW IT UP WHILE STANDING IN THE WATER..OVER THE YEARS WITH ALL OUR CHOWS THEY WOULD RATER WADE IN A CREEK THAN SET IN A POOL. THERE IS MUCH MORE FOR THEM TO SEE AND DO IN NATURE AND THEY LOVE TO EXPLORE.
How did you fit a cow with chows in a swimming pool
JERRY A HOOSIER That's so funny that you say that. If I remember correctly, we took them to Pigeon Country State Forest and the Black River and we couldn't get them OUT!! There is a swimming/wading spot for people who visit and the boys loved it! Is it the rushing of the water? I don't know but I think it's time for another visit!

...fcukin' pit bull "taught" my chow how to play in the water (they were playing, and were pups), can't keep him out of the water since.

My black labrador-chow mix loves water but not too deep.
Why would she like it deep? It's not everyday that you run into someone who doesn't know what to do to keep up appearance and thats all folks...reni, et al

¡Tan increíble! A Max le ENCANTA sentarse afuera en la nieve, ¡pero puedes olvidarte del agua! Caminará alrededor del auto en lugar de caminar en un charco detrás del auto. ¡Chico divertido! Me encantan nuestros Chow Chows!

i can not believe it was their first adventure with water as they look that old
tubeetogoo We brought them home in November at eight weeks, so they didn't have an opportunity to get into a pool, only the bath tub. By the time I had the idea of a pool, they were all sold out. I found this one at Goodwill and snapped it right up. It's a good thing I only paid $5 bucks for it because they never entered it again. We used it last summer with our baby boy and will again this summer. Maybe HE can get them into it?? The boys (Leo and Max) will be four in September. In this video they were just about a year old.
What color was your chow chow as a puppy? Mine is a dark brown and I am unsure if he will become lighter or not. His dad is a cream chow, and his mother is a brown/black chow chow.
+Otha Kearney It really all depends on the parentage ... did they show you pictures of their other litters? Here is a link to Max's picture when we first got him. He was very sandy colored and it wasn't 'til he was about six months that he new coloring really began to appear. Max looks very much like his Mother, with a lot of black mixed in (underneath) and Leo look just like his Dad with a little red underneath).
