    Man that sounds good! I have the same one but I have been so hesitant to do anything to it. Which would you say is better? Downpipe or this catless set up?
    Watched some of your other vids as well 👌🏽

      Thanks 🙂👍 Don't hesitate trust me the sound makes the car so much more enjoyable. Otherwise it just feels like a fast Polo. In this video its actually the stock downpipe retaining both cats, res delete and muffler delete. I tried so many different exhaust setups. The catless one included, its insanely raspy. I actually found my perfect sound to be retain only the primary cat delete sec cat and res and muffler. There is a bit of vibration and minor drone but I can live with it because the DSG farts sound mental now!!😄

      @@Yasisalive No video yet on this setup. Only got it done a few days ago. Will hopefully do one soon. Not sure where you're from but I always get my exhaust work done by Powerflow Salt River. Also if you're looking at a downpipe Mr Turbo in Killarney has good prices.

    How was it running the catless DP? Did you have any exhaust smells coming into the cabin when you idled at a red robot for example?

    • @carcrazyguysa4059
      @carcrazyguysa4059  2 роки тому +2

      No smells coming into the cabin really because usually I have stop start on at a red robot. On cold start you can really smell it but thats only if you're standing right behind the exhaust. To be honest the smells or lack thereof is not as bad as people make it out to be.
      I'm probably going to return to that catless setup 😅

    Solid video man! Does this void your warranty if you go with this approach? What was the damage price-wise? Thanks

    • @carcrazyguysa4059
      @carcrazyguysa4059  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks man! It hasn't voided my warranty. Had the car at VW for service and warranty fix, they said nothing about it. Ofcourse you can't expect them to cover anything exhaust related. Cost was about R1600 because I wanted my original tips on the straight pipe.

    • @keshnaidoo
      @keshnaidoo 2 роки тому

      @@carcrazyguysa4059 That’s great, just recently purchased my Polo and you’re right, doesn’t sound like it should lol. Is the R1600 all inclusive (labour, downpipe etc) and do you have any recommendations for where I may be able to get it done in JHB? I noticed you’re CT based so that question might be a little left field. 😅

    • @carcrazyguysa4059
      @carcrazyguysa4059  2 роки тому +1

      @@keshnaidoo Yep definitely the sound is so underwhelming and so disappointing considering the price of the car. The R1600 is just to cut out the resonator, muffler and replace with straight pipe and y pipe for the tips. Downpipe is stock in this video. Any exhaust shop can do it for you, just check reviews in your area.
      I had a catless downpipe before (that will definitely void your warranty) cost about R4k but I wouldn't recommend it. Sounds to Honda Civic like 😅

    How much would it be to put full milltek exhaust system, any ideas? I love the deep farts and original cracking sound when you lift off the accelerator but I want to increase the noise. any other suggestion to achieve this?

    • @carcrazyguysa4059
      @carcrazyguysa4059  Рік тому +1

      Hi thanks for your comment. I'm assuming you're from South Africa? Miltek is quite pricey and need to be imported, I don't believe there are any distributors here you are looking at anywhere between £500 for a catless downpipe to for a Sports Cat downpipe £950 then a catback exhaust which is roughly between £680 and £980 thats before customs and shipping costs so that alone is about R40k! 🥵 If you are willing to spend that much, by all means 😅 alternatively a bit of tweaking with deletes and a catless downpipe purchased locally your cost won't be more than R6k even less based on what kind of sound you are looking for. If you want to chat I could perhaps help you find the right setup as I have been through plenty variations on my car. You're welcome to DM me on Instagram: car_crazy_guy_sa

      @@carcrazyguysa4059 R40k? Then that is expensive really. Oh yes I'm in south africa, Durban to be exact and I recently bought the polo gti aw. I someone at work who once owned a Hyundai i30N asked me if I had done my exhaust because he says that it doesn't sound exactly like my other colleague's one. How would you know if there was something done to my exhaust system already? I love the sound it makes, it does have pops and crackles but maybe I can't hear them too my from inside the car.

      @carcrazyguysa4059  Рік тому +1

      @@thobanimanzi 😂Yep very very expensive. What year is your car? Its hard to say if something has been done to your exhaust without hearing or seeing it😅 DM me on Instagram I can tell easily. Though when you have the car up in the air on a lift take a picture its even easier to tell like that if something has been done. Though the 2018 car stock from factory sounded pretty good without any work done. 2019 onwards cars are very mild no real life to the exhaust.

      @@carcrazyguysa4059 mine is 2019 model. But the complicated part is that I'm looking to return the car to the dealer as I'm not happy with it. They didn't tell me that it was involved in an accident but I had to find out myself and they did some repairs where they had to replace a damaged front left shock a some other stuff. I'm looking to get a 2020, or 2021 if I'm lucky enough. One day I will ask my colleague with a 2021 model to take me for a spin just to hear the exhaust.

      @@thobanimanzi No way man! They should have disclosed that to you. You are well within your right to return the car!
      2020 and 2021 cars are the same sound wise. My car is a 2021. But my exhaust has never been as original from factory. Plenty vids on my channel of the sound. Really this car is one of those where in my opinion the exhaust just doesn't sound good from factory especially 2021 onwards cars which have a very mild tune from factory for emissions 🙄 You will need to do some work on the exhaust to get a decent sound. Though don't expect it to sound like a Golf because these are two different 2.0TSI engines.

    • @carcrazyguysa4059
      @carcrazyguysa4059  2 роки тому

      Not really, because the Polo GTI doesn't have a valved exhaust. Just the mapping between the modes changes the level of calmness 😄 I am running a full straight pipe right now, only primary cat. I find it perfectly fine in normal mode.

    With the downpipe did you get a CEL.. I have the same Gti I want the dp but powerpipes promises no CEL will show up

    • @carcrazyguysa4059
      @carcrazyguysa4059  2 роки тому +1

      I got no CEL with the downpipe because I had a cat fooler/o2 sensor spacer (cheaper option) or If you are tuning the car you dont need the cat fooler as you won't get a CEL because the tuner will adjust the map to make adjustment for the changes.
      If you do none of the above you will definitely get a CEL and your car might even go into limp mode.

      @@Odii43 My car is a 2021 so it came with that stupid software update. Just a downpipe is not enough. I was very disappointed when I did my downpipe and there still weren't any DSG farts. A muffler delete brings the DSG farts to life. Keep your stock resonator on! A tune is where the DSG farts will really come to life though. The cheapest way to get them back without a tune is Downpipe + Cat fooler + muffler delete trust me it sounds wild! Not everyones taste but I loved it!
