    Caught a magical winter flat calm day. Loaded up and headed offshore. The fish are definitely biting. Caught fish after fish until my arms were jello. Burned through a dozen or so jigs because of the toothy critters down there. Sharks were pretty bad as well. On the way home ran into a couple schools of Tuna and picked up a couple on the 4" paddle tails. Awesome but exhausting day.

    Man you should consider increasing the braid to 100lb, tie an FG knot to a 100-120 lb flurocarbon topshot, use a Stella 8000 spool which is perfect for heavy vertical jigging, and you shouldn’t loose any monster fish again 🙂

    Excellent job editing...I have noticed when you have BOTH the stick cam and the hat cam...we get much better audio from the head cam, but better video from the stick. So thank you for blending the best of both together when sharing the footage with us. Ha-ha-ha I said "footage" :-)! Show us your feet :-) Anyways what a great trip...to finally get back out there to the reefs and fun catching! Keep up the great work!

    New record set for grunts per minute on this video. Either the fishing is getting better or the angler is getting older... or both.
    For the record, I counted 447 grunts during this video, producing a gpm of 16.26.
    This shatters the old record set in March of 2017 of only 12.62 gpm.
    Congrats Steve on your new PB.

      @@bradys.7967 lots of places jigging with spinning gear is popular . I'm not sure what you mean by "cast drag knob" but if you are thinking about the spool tension knob you are wrong to assume that it is a casting aid. Arron was referring to laying down the line when retrieving the lure, not thumbing the spool with casting.

    • @bradys.7967
      @bradys.7967 5 років тому

      @@otroflores91 Anotherflores91 I was under the impression that thumbing the spool meant ensuring no backlashes when releasing line. Wasn't insinuating anything about casting, and i wasnt saying that the cast drag knob is a casting aid. We were talking about jigging, my friend. Its perfectly fine to use the cast drag to control lure descent when jigging, at least from my experience. My main point was that it seems a bit strange and inefficient to deep jig off atlantic reefs with a medium-sized spinning rig, which you cant really argue with based on the mans performance in the vid.

    • @otroflores91
      @otroflores91 5 років тому

      @@bradys.7967 you are right, thumbing usually does refer to slow down the spool with your fingers. I think he used the word "thumbing" when he ment guiding the line back on the spool with your fingers gets in the way of working the lure.
      If you use the tension knob to control the lure decent and it works, that's great. Everyone fishes different. All that matters is going out fishing.
