So I just replaced my Switch on my 2008 NC. You really don't have to take any of the side pieces or top pieces off. Take the lens off with a spudger tool. Stick a small thin flat head screwdriver on right side into clip. It will pop the entire right side of the light assembly out. Stick a Flat head screwdriver to open wire harness and it's out. Took 10 minutes to replace. But thanks for the info on how to pop all those panels out if I ever need to. Great detailed video.
Hey Mate, I tried doing it the way you’ve described on my 2008 NC but it seems to tight to just pop out. So I was gonna do it the way the video shows but the previous owners rounded out one of the screws. Any advice on how I could pop it out? Thanks
I got a small plastic spudger and pushed and held the metal clip in and it came right out. May take a few tries but it worked for me in like 3 tries.@@jackgrant1862
Just in time for me. I love your summary for the mechanically savvy. It's a lot like my old 91 miata so that's all I really needed. I hope it's just the bulbs.
Glad I could help! I've always found it annoying when I need to scrub through a 20 minute video when I just need something brief, so I try to preface my videos with a short summary!
@@DownhillCarver Bulb (singular) is replaced and it's working again. I'll be doing this job again, though. I seem to have bought a blue bulb as an oversight. The vendor also said that two were needed. That seemed odd to me, but I trusted them.
@@SkylersRants It's really easy to get weird colored bulbs by mistake! If you don't like the white/blue look try to stick to bulbs that are 4000 Kelvin and below. Maybe the vendor meant that there's two of em in the car? It's the same bulb in the trunk light. That'd be an odd thing to tell someone who's looking for their dome light though, haha
If you only need a new bulb just take off the kens with the small screwdriver and uses same driver to release the bulb and push in new bulb and lens and done. True if your switch is bad if it is only the bulb follow these steps, My light did not work as sone as i touched the bulb with the screwdriver, the light came on and "FIXED".

Great info! Pinned your comment so others see it too!

You need a plastic spudger to hold against the only metal silver clip on the right side holding it up there.@@jackgrant1862

Did exactly this today on my car. Thank you for the video!
happy to help!
What is that second plug up there in the headliner?
What bulb would you recommend for decent light?
this honestly isn't a task where I worry too much about specifics like that. About any bulb from your local auto parts store will do the trick for ya.

I pinned a similar comment alerting me to this! When I attempted to do so I was too timid to get the lens to release!
