    Great tips! For a palette I use 2 cookie sheets...1 on the bottom with damp toweling and parchment paper and one flipped over for the lid when I’m not painting. Stays wet and gives a nice big surface for mixing:)

    Thank you for your tips. With the last tip, the bulldog paper clip, I use that same paper clip to hang my washed and wet brushes in a vertical (upright) position from a slotted rack, with the bristles pointing straight down so the water runs out of the bristles and not back up into the brush.

    Great tips, thanks! When I have to mix a large amount of colour I use the lid from a jar. That way I'm not using up a lot of palate space and I can wrap the lid in cling wrap to save the mix for second or third layers or extra mixing for later variations on the colour.

    Very cool tips! lol @ trying to get that wrap off the roll. There are times when those rolls go flying threw the air here. I have little patience for it. But then after I toss it... I have to go get it off the floor anyhow so it is better to be patient. lol Thanks so much for the great hacks to save money in the studio. I am all for that! Big ART Hugs to you. :D

    Clive, something else I use is a half of a styrofoam ball found in the craft areas of stores, just punch it in and they stand up ready for use, I keep all my brushes by type in these styrofoam halves...just FYI, my hack😁saves a lot of time looking for which brush is where, and I have a LOT of brushes and painting knives which can be inserted blade tip down in size order holds great!
    Figured ur sharing, I would too, I have other hacks as well...😁

    Hi Clive was wondering if any of your hacks like the bottle caps on your pallet work for oil paints? I do more oil than acrylic but like both watch yours and I love Bob Ross and Jason Bowen. I use mostly Bob Ross oils. Was also wondering if there’s a tutorial on the Red Dragon I see in the background of your studio?

    • @CLIVE5ART
      @CLIVE5ART  5 років тому

      The caps could be used for oils the dragon I did for myself but I do have plans to the paint it

    Hi Clive, hope you're well and not flooded. Have a question on your tip no 2. In another video you told, that a simple way to keep colors moist is kitchen paper, water and parchment paper for that. Here it's cling film, what's the better tip? Thank you for answer and regards from the southwest of Ireland.

    • @CLIVE5ART
      @CLIVE5ART  4 роки тому +1

      Cling film over the paint works ok my method is great as well all you need to think about is evaporating water from the paint prevent that and you will be fine

    Clive, I'm used to painting in oils but I wanted to learn acrylic too. I've been watching your videos. I wonder where you learned to be a ventriloquist. I like the Welsh accent too. My question is: since white paint is used more than the others. Could an acrylic wall paint be used instead. It has the same properties. It could be purchased at a hardware store or other stores that carry it. Being Welsh myself, I'm very cost conscience. It must be in the genes, think ye?

    Do you have any idea how to clean out plastic paint tubes. Your tip is great with metal but not plastic tubes because air enters plastic tubes Craft paints are in bottles but the craft store sells their paint in plastic tubes

    • @CLIVE5ART
      @CLIVE5ART  7 років тому

      Most paint manufacturers are using metal ones I think there is no air vents as that will allow the paint to dry out

    • @cynthiasnow2888

      I use doggy pads. I put it on my table with my water and after dipping the brush in water I touch the doggy pad and it absorbs the excess moisture. I also use one on my lap to help keep clothes paint free. I use it after I am painting to wipe off my brushes very well before washing. This helps keep a lot of paint going down the drain. I can let the pad dry and use it again. The one on the table I keep turning it around after each session of art. This saves on kitchen paper towels.
