I’m new to suppressors and new to “precision” rifles (mine are WWI Bi-Planes compared to your F35 rifles though!). Discovered this very same thing on two of my guns. Ruger Am Predator 6.5cdm and AR15 300blk. Very surprised. Thanks for taking the time to share your observations. Always learning.
I went through the same issue with POI shift between the brake and can. Finally went to the Area 419 adapter for both their brake and the Nomad Ti can and on three different rifle the POI is less than .1 mil in both elevation and windage.
Area 419 system is the bomb. It is on all my rifles. If your can doesn't use a hub don't buy it. Under an inch impact shift on all rifles from 300 Blackout to 300 Win Mag.
I’m going to have to look into that Nomad can. I discovered a big vertical drop with my Rugged Surge 7.62 on my rifles. Have tested just 2 so far. Ruger Am Predator 6.5cdm and AR15 in 300blk. Same results as the video. If I can find a Ti can/system with no effect on my zero that would be awesome!
@@Hawkerdude67 This can with direct thread moved POI almost an inch before going to the AREA 419 hub mount, I believe that is what made the difference. Hated to re-zero every time I went from can to brake.
@@toflooryou Interestingly the Rugged Surge 7.62 I have uses a quick disconnect "dual taper locking system" which I guess is like a hub. Now, they have the Surge X and they specifically say that its new design has no zero shift. The Surge 7.62 that I got 2 years ago had no such wording. Apparently it was an issue. Next outing I'll have to check to see it my suppressed zero holds after removing the can and then re-installing. If it does I'll just zero with the can installed and shoot it that way.
Always run a suppressor. Why? Well most importantly cause it’s cool. Also changing the sound signature as well as if you have a quality can flash suppression. If you have night vision it’s even cooler😂👍
Moral of story. Head to the range when you get that shiny new suppressor or brakes. Or you’ll be upset when you miss the biggest buck of your life. Lol Dude, those are some bad ass rifles!!
You absolutely can not compare any thing not broke in. I have had new barrels Lazer in at 100 ward and the first 100 rounds was all over big paper and some even off the paper. And then it started comeing in and after 120 round could shoot less than 1 moa and never touched scope then clean barrel and bolt and have shot 1000 rounds with 2 cleans and shoot perfect
Was just comparing the difference between a muzzle break and suppressor on the same barrel. I couldn't do it if I was comparing a seasoned barrel vs a new barrel. With that being said, I feel like most custom barrels settle in within the first 10 rounds, 20 max. They may continue to speed up, but accuracy is there from the get go

Can't beat that. Those Ti cans are nice

Sweet video. Hope to see some more on your 25 creed! Happy new year

Bingo haha. Appreciate it
I understand the point of the video. With that said, if I were fortunate enough to own a suppressor, why would I ever shoot my rifle without it?
Better recoil management with a muzzle brake. Shorter overall length is easier to get in and out of barricades and props during competitions
I would like to see you start your zero without either.
Yea that makes a hole lot more sense. But it's his ammo and no good comparison
