"That's exactly 1/3 cup of cognac" I love her dry sense of humor
“This is EXACTLY 1/3 cup of cognac.”...as she pours liberally directly from the bottle 😂😂😂😂
That's a mark of a true chef, when you can measure in the palm of your hand or straight from the bottle. She always encouraged her audience to learn how to do this.
“Or if you’re not fat put in a little cream” 😂 😂
I've been trying the "Julie and Julia" game, I make a Julia Child recipe every Saturday night. Something I noticed pretty quickly is, that she focuses on building flavour through proper cooking and technique (and yes, lol, a lot of butter)...but, she seasons food sparingly. Unlike a lot of Chefs of today...I noticed right away, how much better my food tasted. She has a point, seasoning/herbs etc are great, but you want to taste the food as the main flavour with the seasoning as an accent and not the other way around. She's just freaking brilliant, I have always been a huge fan. Such an outstanding life she lived.
@@mirnamm3590 Yep, I do. That's pretty amazing too. I'd freaking LOVE to be a spy. She also co-created a the world's most used shark-repellent, I'm sure you have issue with that too though, dontcha Karen?!
@@mirnamm3590 neither of you are using Karen right 😂😂
@@mirnamm3590 with a capital K
You prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know a trick to get back into an instagram account..?
I somehow lost the login password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me!
@Keanu Jayce instablaster ;)
Talking about the "dignity" of an about to be roasted turkey .. screaming with laughter. Julia was fabulous!!!
French cuisine 50 % prep 50% butter
I made her butter poached chicken and my family went crazy for it! They said it was the best chicken they ever had. I also made her famous potato and leek soup for a luncheon and everyone was super impressed, like I did some amazing thing! I certainly didn't tell them I threw some potatoes and leeks in a pot of water, LOLOL! It came out smooth as silk and delicious and everyone said it tasted like something they would have in a 5-star restaurant.
Learned more in 1hr than in 20 years of cooking!! the lessons are simple but they stick to the memory!
what a freakin' legend
Dude seriously. So epic.
She was awesome. Jacques and Julia.....the king and queen
Julia is such a sweet lady. I always enjoy watching her cook. I love her character and humor. I enjoy her way of communicating.
"Just take your fist and cruelly pound it." I'm dying
“Not very dignified, I think it would be horrified to know that it was being stuffed from this end” 🤣
Typical CIA talk
ppl comes in different flavors and Mrs. Child along with Freddy Mercury are 2 of my faves.. thank God for videos..
I just love her passion and her focus. She’s not about the frills, fluff, and nonsense- she wants to make good food. And boy does she. And I love that she added lessons to all her cooking segments. Something like cutting an onion is something a lot of people don’t do right, or fast or with confidence. She’s the GOAT.
Amen,sir! !!!!!
Butter poached chicken is absolutely divine! I couldn't beleived how good it was with a nice side of vegetables like mushrooms brocoli or sparagus and a little green salad. Of course dont Forget the french bread

PS: (RIP) TO THE LATE JULIA CHILD, A TRUE COOKING PIONEER FROM THE 1960'S WHEN SHE BURST UPON THE TV PBS SCENE W/HER SHOW(NOW ON DVD) ENTITLED "THE FRENCH CHEF." IT'S HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR COOKING BEGINNERS, GRANTE SHE WAS SOMEWHAT SLOPPY IN HER COOKING TECHNIQUES, BUT NO MATTER. SHE WAS A COOKING LEGEND LARGELY RESPONSIBLE FOR TODAY'S FOOD NETWORK TV COOKING SHOWS & SHE LATER ON IN 1998-1999, MADE THE FAMOUS TV COOKING SHOW: "JULIA & JACQUES-COOKING AT HOME," ALSO ON DVD BASED ON THE BOOK OF THE SAME NAME. WATCH & ENJOY THIS DEAR LADY & QUEEN OF THE TV CHEFS. MAY SHE (RIP).
This is how I learned to cook. These videos and the book that came out a few years later changed my life for the better. Ask anyone who’s eaten at my house.
If they're rubbery, then you've over cooked them and *that's a shaaaame!*
I’d watch her with no sound at all ... a true legend
She makes everything look so easy.
This was the best cooking show ever made she makes me smile alot😊
I like the way she pronounces sauté as so-tay
That's how its pronounced in French. I think she's being fancy by saying it the French way rather than the way its pronounced as a French word adopted into English.
Well how do you pronounce it?
@@mchevre i mean she is the american french chef so makes sense that she would pronounce french words properly
Thats because she is bilingual and fluent in french. The way she says SAUTE is perfect im french Canadian
🔔🔮🎂
she makes it look so easy oh my god im shocked. i love julia so much
A true legend !
She never seems to season her meat and poultry before browning or cooking. Can't argue with her results though.
Thank goodness or food processors today! Make cutting, chopping and dicing - a piece of cake!
Julia Child never fails
23:30 That butter sizzling up makes me hungry.
Indeed!!!!!!🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🍈🍈🍈🍈🍈🍈🍈🍈🍈🍈🍠🍠🍠🍠🍠🍠🍢🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍵🍶🍚🍙
Thank you ❤️❤️
I love when she says …
‘If they are tough and rubbery , you’ve overcooked them and that’s a-shame ‘
why am i watching this i am a vegan
something magical about julia though! i love watching her cook
"Now turn it unceremoniously the other end up. ...not very dignified..." 😄
Most enjoyable. I find that sometimes she is so pro gadgets and fat consciousness that I do not enjoy the episode but this one was her having more fun. I liked it :)
Degrease by using a good paper towel and just lie it on top and immediately take it off. It was pretty impressive when I did it to my korma
I’ve made the first recipe, the sautéed chicken in the pan. Very good.
when is julia child the most proud of her food? when they go to brown ( rim shot )
What happened to the audio ?
Wow she’s actually cute ❤️
I’ve would have gave her a bigger ring though.,
No sound?
The sound mutes every time the music plays, what gives?
Love this woman, but if you’re from the South, you know this is no way to treat a “tom ah to”. The juice with seeds is the most flavorful part
Why the audio is not working?
The audio begins as soon as she starts cooking the first recipe.
No sound? 😔
Sound about 1 min in
No audio
See description ☝🏼
I get so paranoid touching chicken and then my seasonings without washing my hands
HOT TOMATO!!!!
No sound
No audio. Sad.
The audio begins as soon as she starts cooking the first recipe.
There’s no sound !!!!
I have never cooked any chicken in 15 minutes
Trust me the butter poached chicken takes 8 minutes in the oven i tried
I make her butter poached chicken and it's the most delicious thing you've ever put in your mouth! Just try it - you'll never go back.
I like Julia - but I don't think she seasons worth a crap! LOL But it could be cultural, too - my culture really seasons food very well.
I don't like turkey but that turkey looks fantastic
