Shawn & Mel, you'll love their "Point of No Return"!!! That synth hook in "I Can't Wait" is so damn catchy!
Hate to do this, but that was “Expose”; I’m an expert on 80’s dance 😂😂😂
@@jacqueline4514 Expert NOT! two different songs, same title! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point_of_No_Return_(Nu_Shooz_song) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point_of_No_Return_(Expos%C3%A9_song)
both songs hit#1 on the US Dance Club Song chart. Expose 1985, Nu Shooz 1986.
@@surlechapeau Thank you for the information! And I was being funny; I’m no expert 😂
@@jacqueline4514 lol
Yep their other hit was Point of no return....but I can't wait was definitely the banger .... loved it then as much as now...
80s dance party! Love it! You gotta do some Bananarama. Their best songs are: “Cruel Summer,” “Venus,” and “I Heard a Rumor!”
Right On! In the UK they are one of the most successful Girl Groups of all time and the first successful one. They kicked the door open for every UK Girlband that came after them most notably The Spice Girls. If you can, check out The UK Girl Groups like Eternal, Misteeq, The Saturdays, All Saints, Little Mix, and Girls Aloud and The Sugababes.
"I Heard a Rumor" was THE ultimate "Will they or won't they...?" summer song!
"Nu Shooz" "I Can't Wait" 1986. I was 22, and having the time of my life. Awwww. If only we could go back, even for just one day! ❤I'd take y'all with me. ❤🎵🕺💃🎼🔥
Oh gosh I miss the 80’s and going to the skating rink! You’d loooove Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam “I Wonder if I Take You Home” and “Can You Feel the Beat”. Omg those songs had THAT beat. Those songs were always played at the parties! Fun times!!👍🏼👌🏼💕
Lisa Lisa Yes!!!! Best times of my Life. And “Let The Beat Hit Em” 🔥
Speaking of the song Point of No Return ..... it reminds me of the girl group Exposé. Anyone remember them from the 80's?
Songs: Point of No Return, Let Me Be the One, Come Go with Me, Seasons Change. This would be a great group for Shawn and Mel to check out.
I second that. Expose is great.
Let me be the one is on my IPhone
@darktitan6308 Thank you!
Great reaction guys! Yes, you are definitely correct. Every DJ would jam this song in the clubs and at parties. Please check "Point of no return" by them as well. Love what you guys do!
This track was a huge 1986 hit, my senior year in high school. Nu Shooz consisted of then the husband and wife team of John Smith & Valerie Day.
Unfortunately they only had two songs on the charts. The other one was "Point Of No Return"...
There were a few funky white girls of this period which had big hits but few people react to. Try Tara Kemp doing "Hold You Tight", Ta Mara and The Seen doing "Affection" and of course the great Lady T, Teena Marie, doing "Behind The Groove" and "I Need Your Lovin' ".
Yes, yes and yes; funky white girl here ❤️
Back when MTV was great
Right On Track by Breakfast Club is a great dance tune to check out!
A GREAT song suggestion!!
@@dggydddy59 Yup! Hopefully we'll hear it soon.
Nothing else like it.
@@lindarenee2198 I like Wink Martindale's appearance at the beginning.
This is a huge 80s classic!🥰
😂😊I am 45 and just found out LAST YEAR this was a white woman!!!😂😂
UA-cam nu shooz solid gold it's the live performance of I can't wait .must see
Yup, this used to come on and the dance floor would be PACKED! This song KICKS in the car, too! Nu Shooz was a band fronted by a husband and wife team, they all played the instruments live, and the singer actually plays percussion! All the funky bottle percusion you hear is Valerie herself😊🎵
This is another married couple music duo. Point of No Return is another hit of theirs.
Out of Portland, OR, they blew the door off with this. Definitely a “Banger’ AT THE TIME. Point of No Return is the follow up.
Back in the day this song packed the dance floor
We ALL got on the dance floor in the clubs!
Check out her Point of No Return. The only other one I know.
The 80s has the funnest music to dance to
This is next to I Can't Go For That as one of the most sampled Songs of all time. John Smith her Husband wrote the song so he sings all the way to the bank due to writer's royalties. They did all of the shows back in the Day, American Bandstand, Top Of The Pops (UK) and were one of the few white acts to do Soul Train.
I never saw the video. I thought it was a black group. Really loved it then and now.
Great memories with this one. Please look into
“The Promise” by When In Rome.
Loved your reaction 👏
Can you guys do Jane Child “Don’t wanna fall in love”.
in the clubs the extended version of this song was IT
this makes me homesick over a time in my life, not a place. Summers outside playing with the neighborhood kids in the garden hose. Knowing it was time to come inside when the street lights came on. Running home from school just to watch MTV because they played music videos back then. School was fun. We passed notes. We read books. We interacted with each other. No other time was more authentic than the 80s.
@darktitan6308 i’m sorry🥺I am glad you are here commenting on this. Thank you🫶
Another one of my favorites!! Use to play this at the skating rink! So glad you got to hear it!! 💕✌🏻🎶
Ahhhh, the 80s!
Man, what a time to grow up as a kid. Man, I miss that era SO MUCH....
Amazing 80`s classic song - love it ! Greets from germany.
You brought me back to the roller rink in the 80’s. When this song came on it didn’t matter how tired the feet were we flooded the floor!
This is still a JAM!
Yes...back in the late 80s....I was in the army ...the clubs this was a hot banger back then ...it was explosive...this drove everyone on the dance floor and started off the heavy beats in the club ...I was in my early 20s back then.
Bringing me back with this one!!! 😊
This was my jam! lol
I love this song. Seemed like every time it was on the radio I was into some new nooky. Back in the day just throwing that young back. Lmao!
I was too young for the club then but this was definitely a skating rink hit.
Allaboutloveneverwaitforlove
bringing back the classics
I love me some Valerie Day, who is also a percussionist I believe.
i was 15 when this came out and even now i get a rush up the back of my neck when this toon starts im now 53
Nu shooz are the best!!!
"Slide & glide" dancing.
Should have done the video where they perform the song. Their other hit was "point of no return ".
Brainstorm THIS MUST BE HEAVEN
Beautiful song , beautiful voice .
They should react to this song.
Bonjour de la France 🖐️🇨🇵
Excellent reaction!!! Love this song. You two are looking great!!!
Play bop by usher I also like the song yall played I can't wait by number shooz I was born in 1965 but in the 1980s we had pretty good music in those days thanks for sharing it with everyone I can't wait by nu shooz
Mel is adorable. Great reaction guys.
Forgot about 'em. I was otherwise occupied, mostly. Cool crew and sound though, that much I remember...the sound. Club cool.
This was on the radio when it came out 24/7, huge hit for sure. Loved in the Hip Hop community too. Even sampled via beatbox by Biz Markie on his first ever EP single.
It’s actually a husband and wife duo, they were members of the group Talking Headz
Suggestion Level 42-Starchild
As a point of clarity "Point of No Return" that I am referring to is by Nu Shooz. Expose had a song with the same name. Totally different songs. Same name.
1980s, from Portland, Oregon!
It’s actually a THEY,the guy just not in the video
Great song . . . always hated the music video.
My era first MTV gen when there was actual music videos was their main thing
💕💃
Listen growing up during this time I mean, this song was the shit! And it still is.
Im ready to go clubbing now like back in the 80s lol
I won quite a few dance contests dancing to this song back when it forst came out.
Seems no major r&b covers of this, there oughta be
Dance floor killer you know what I mean 😊

Skate Land in the bury in the 80s
great 80s smash! love this song. : )
This was a jammer 👍🏼🤩
Listen to point of no return
The 80s are the best
You should check out Vanessa Williams' "Happiness". That track sampled heavily from this song.
Brings me back to my childhood and going to the roller rink ❤️
Banger 🍾
This joint dropped in 1986. Its on my 80s playlist!
My favorite by Nu Shooz was "Point of No Return".
💃💃💃💃💃💃💃♥️
I listen to this like every other day. Didn't even know until now that y'all made a reaction video to it.☺️
Guys they also have a great vibe called Point of no return. Check it out!
This was a good clubbing song back in the day!!!!!
They are from my hometown right here in Portland, Oregon!! We love them here!!
Big big jam back in the day. Great reaction.
This is a shortened version. Amazing song. I love her voice too
This song is the jam. Always gets me up and dancing 💃
A very groovy song?
"Sure Shot" by Tracy Weber .
When it starts, everyone goes to the dance floor. (DJ Claudio Melodia's version is 🔥) . 🖐️🇨🇵
