Great song , the bass player Gary Fontaine, was a friend of mine , he Played with a few local bands in Portland . I had the honor of playing with him too. He just passed away less than two weeks ago. Gary RIP 🙏
This song is definitely not disco. It came out in the late 80’s. Disco was long gone by then. This was one of our songs to dance to in the bars. It’s awesome.
Another great husband wife band from Portland Oregon at the same time was Quarterflash. I’m sure you would enjoy Harden my Heart, great vocals and saxophone by Rindy Ross.
Oh yes Seafood Mama back in the day. I have seen Quarterflash a couple of times thu the years. They don't perform as often, or anymore as that but what a treat! Give them a listen.
i am here for all these 80s music reactions. I like how you guys react....you give honest opinions which not a lot of reactors do in my experience. If u don't like something you say: and that's important! Love the analysis. Keep up the good work guys!
My only negative is to say the video is trash. It is the first time seeing it. I thought they would note the video was ahead of its time too.... but then I am a boomer, what do I know or think is good or not.
Point of No Return was also a huge follow-up hit for them and then they also had a hit ballad. I think it was called Should I Say Yes and it got radio play
Another of their songs that I like is "Should I Say Yes?" Check that one out. It wasn't as big of a hit as that one, but it did get radio airplay around '87-'88.
Like Oli, I heard the song a lot of times, but had no idea what these guys looked like. I thought they were black also. Solid song back in the day, but it got played out and it's just not hitting the spot for me like some of the other great 80's songs when I hear them today. Great review though.
Check out their other big song *Point Of No Return* which you probably know, not to be confused with Expose's 'Point Of No Return' song, also from the 80's but entirely different song
I remember this video being amazing back in the day. I look at it now and think.... I could easily do the video compositing work like this in Adobe After Effects (or even just Premiere) in a day or two. Of course in 1986 it would probably take weeks...
This was huge in the British “discos” in ‘85- we used to dance our a$$es off and it separated the men from the boys! Y’all Please do Led Zeppelin “I Can’t Quit You Baby” Live at Royal Albert Hall 1970- I’m betting you’ll LOVE it!
They might be considered a “two-hit wonder”, they had another moderately popular hit called “Point of No Return”…I’m not familiar with anything from them beyond that

I was a metalhead when this came out and I still liked it. Didn't like most pop, but this was one of the exceptions.
Same .
Just imagine a big tall 6’5 Native American boy dancing his skinny a$$ of to this song in the day. That image is me… and I still dance to it today!
This song was all over MTV, such a great tune!

An awesome song, and an awesome skate song. 10-23-2024.
This was a massive hit in the UK, such a great 80s sound 💥💥🔥❤️
Cool! I'm sure I must have heard this before. The INTRO for absolutely sure. I could have done with more of that intro sound throughout the song :))
Another of their songs that I like is "Should I Say Yes?" Check that one out. It wasn't as big of a hit as that one, but it did get radio airplay around '87-'88.
Man this one brought me back in time! Nicely done fellas!
Point of No Return was another hit!
Point of no return was a big one too.
Funky beat 😎🎵🎶☮️
It's a catchy song but everything about it from the name of the "band", to the hook, to the repetition, screams novelty hit.
🎹One word. Fairlight.🎵
This song always reminds me of High School…It’s so good.
Check out their other cool song “Point of No Return”
Hot Tub Time Machine!
Like Oli, I heard the song a lot of times, but had no idea what these guys looked like. I thought they were black also. Solid song back in the day, but it got played out and it's just not hitting the spot for me like some of the other great 80's songs when I hear them today. Great review though.
NAUGHTY BY NATURE SAMPLED THIS ON THEIR NINETY NAUGHTY THREE ALBUM - (THE ONLY ONE'S) TRACK.
Cool beans great music from a better time 😊
Hey guys! I never get tired of this song. If you get a chance, listen to the unedited album version. Peace.
Check out their other big song *Point Of No Return* which you probably know, not to be confused with Expose's 'Point Of No Return' song, also from the 80's but entirely different song

I'm 61 and remember this song, didn't know she was white neither.
Point of no return is another hit they had react to it please.
They might be considered a “two-hit wonder”, they had another moderately popular hit called “Point of No Return”…I’m not familiar with anything from them beyond that
Point of No Return is the better of the 2 in my opinion. I didn't know they sang that one too.
She remides I e pink 😊
💚
Nail it to the wall was their other single
I'm pretty good with all those 80's club songs and that one I don't remember for some reason.
Stacey Lattisaw also had a song by the same name!!!
Y’all got me trippin”! Funny to hear y’all’s perspective, cuz to me, this is the “whitest” shit ever! 🤣
Can you do supertramp

One hit wonder
This is the first time that I've heard this. It wasn't in my circle. Reminds me of ABBA, which I wasn't a fan.
The video was horrible.............
