When you're young and wanting to fit in, you can pick up mannerisms and accents pretty quickly. She could be gotten like that after 2 years of being around LA girls.

Take people like Gillian Anderson who lived in england from the age of 2 to 11. When shes in britain she has a british accent when shes in america she has an american accent.
