A Moroccan immigrant in France asks his adolescent son to drive him across seven countries as he undertakes the journey from Hajj to Mecca. The father's peaceful, solemn pilgrimage is an incomprehensible waste of time for his son. Along the way, the pair's stark differences and attitudes towards life become apparent, and what they come to understand about one another has implications far greater than the journey itself. Winner of Best first film at the 2004 Venice Film Festival.

I saw this movie for the first time last night. I don’t want to spoil for anyone so if you haven’t seen plz stop reading. The ending really hit me. It was so heartbreaking. I can’t get the ending scene out of my head. Going now to give my father a big hug
I always remember my gramps when watching this beautiful movie every eid adha. May ALLAH grant him jannah, and all parents in the world.
What a good movie.! A trip through Europe, Turquie, Jordania, Syria, till La Mecque. The difference between a father and his son, who finaly get closer to each other, through a mystic atmosphere.
